  1. 100% without a doubt the only thing I am hungry for right now is a Pillars 2 Kickstarter. I want them to do a great job with it, no more gold plated NPCs, although I don't mind the ingame plaques at all. No items, but lots of great extras as you go up, guides, soundtracks, etc., all the way up to visiting the office, etc. I really think if they did a Kickstarter campaign the right way for Pillars 2 right now they'd beat the first one. I can just imagine a bigger, better sequel, importing your characters, all kinds of awesomeness. I feel like they are definitely going to do it but when? Distant second Fallout 4 followup.
  2. I received a prompt of an attack on my stronghold by the Bleakhollow Bandits as I was returning to Caed Nua to talk to the messenger for the task "A return to court". I ignored this attack as I had 4 days, 6 hours to resolve it. I then spoke with the messenger, went to the Charred Barrel, bribed Captain Emery, and headed back to my keep. I then pacified the mob with 1000cp. I went inside, spoke with the Marshall about the attack and then rested at Caed Nua with the Tower bonus. I then manually resolved the attack from the Bleakhollow Bandits. Killed them, and when the battle was over the angry mob had returned along with the Marshall. I can't speak with them. I tried going outside of the Great Hall before initiating battle but it made no difference. I then killed the angry mob and the Marshall, and went back into the Great Hall. The Marshall is still there and friendly. I exit and while the mob is not there anymore I can hear the audio for them. Right now I've reloaded to an earlier point before the mob spawns and will resolve the attack, hopefully that clears up this bug for me, but something to look into. Thanks. I tried to upload a save game but the file was too large.
  3. Or you can bump up your Mechanics and roll with whatever you find, if you don't want to bother searching for secrets. It doesn't defeat the purpose of the change, the purpose is exactly to allow people who cba searching but have some Mechanics to find some stuff, while reserving other secrets for those who actually want to search for them. Am I to understand that a smart design choice would be to have anything hidden light up like a Christmas tree the moment you step into the area? Yes, the smart design choice would be to have the secret revealed if you get close enough, which means you still have to explore areas to find secrets, if you have high enough mechanics for that secret, meaning you still have to have invested in mechanics. This means you don't have to artificially slow down the game by going around in scouting mode everywhere for fear of missing a secret. That would have been the best design choice.
  4. This quest starts out interesting, with Kana tracing his people's holy teachings all the way back to a foreign race, but fizzles into nothing, with some chained up skeletons, pointless blight forges, and a locked up skeleton mage. Kana cries about a broken tablet, you exchange a few words, and that's it. This one really disappointed me. Kana should have found something interesting and thought provoking. Maybe the Tanvii Ora Tora (however you spell it) did originate from the Engwithans but the Engwithan version is dark and evil. Maybe he has to reconcile that older darker version with what he knows as his people's holy text. That would be interesting.
  5. I was hoping they would fix the Stronghold (yes, it needs design fixing) with the White March, who knows, maybe they will with the second part although I doubt it. We'll just have to hope it gets some major overhauls in PoE 2.
  6. I mean... nothing in the game was added against the designers' wishes - they added what they felt like adding. But they did originally not plan to have any permanent health healing in the game, and they did add it in response to the whining feedback of some backers. IMO they should've ignored that bit of feedback like they ignored the people asking for lock/trap XP... should've stuck to their guns on design decisions like that. But it is what it is. Whatever. They added nothing that they didn't in the end want to be in the game. They aren't saying, "well I don't think this works but people are asking for it, so **** it" when it comes to feedback. If you listen to them talk about it they are using it the same way a beta would be used, to see areas of design that can be improved upon. The fact that you get to pick all your story companions levels is a great example of this.
  7. If you can pass a Might and Dex check you can just steal it from her. I don't really need her amulet and she just gets attacked anyway, so think I will just steal the damn thing and save my 6000 pands. I'll be saving her life in the process, though she won't know that.
  8. There is Easy mode when you do not even need that ))) I'm playing on Path on Damned + Ironman and ITS VERY IMPORTANT that game mechanics work as correct as possible. I think this game has bestest mechanic ever seen with lot of potential. Ok, since game is not totally patched its early for Ironman ((( After learning the mechanics to a degree I found Normal to be extremely easy, so I started a new game on Hard. It is more challenging now but even still at level 8 and just finished the Temple of Skaen I have had characters get knocked out maybe four times and never killed or maimed. I think I'll complete the game still at Hard and then once both White March expansions are out and patched fully I will do one last play through on PoTD. That being said I kind of liked the infinite aura bug and had the excuse that there was nothing I could do about it. Now that I know it can be fixed through saving with it off I have either fix it or know I'm cheating. Sigh.
  9. Yes, me too. Probably an issue with the original recording. Whenever they get around to a Pillars 2 they have a lot of areas to improve upon. No disrespect.
  10. Well in that case I guess the specs of your main character are not really part of the character either so maybe we don't need the respec at all - I get you are trying to be sarcastic but really it comes down to player choice and game design. I get that these are Obsidian's characters and the only control the player has over them is how we interpret them. I make the case that the specs, i.e. strength, perception, dexterity, etc., do not heavily influence the player's experience of those characters. I can speak of my personal experience, in that I don't sit and look at Durance's stats and say "Oh look, he has a might of 14, he must be pretty strong". His high resolve does seem to reflect his strong personality, but that 19 resolve never factored into my experience of Durance. On the flip side if the game wants to emphasis player choice, especially when interacting with one of the core mechanics, i.e. combat, allowing a respec of your party seems like the correct design choice. This allows me more options as a player and more builds to experiment with. Obsidian's designers seem to want players have that choice, as you can recruit followers and build them however you want to. By allowing that with recruited followers and not with the story followers they've now made it so that we have to give up something whichever way we play. If you choose to use the story companions we give up the ability to customize our party builds. If we recruit our followers we can customize our party but we give up on all the writing, the story, the interjections, reactions, and quests of the story companions. I am sure you will remember there was a time when you couldn't even pick your story followers skills up until the level you met them. That was, in my opinion, a sub-optimal design decision. They changed that to give the players more control over the character builds and their party. Allowing the respec is something they could also reconsider, as a player and a fan I am merely making the case for a change I would enjoy.
  11. Do we know when the missing items in stash issue will be corrected? I have held off installing the 2.0 patch or White Marsh after hearing about this.
  12. In game companions certainly should be available to have their stats respecced. The arguments against it are very weak. Someone says something about not changing the characters that Obsidian designed, well the characters will still be the characters. The lines will be written the same, their voice actors the same, their model the same. The specs are not show in dialogue. The specs are mechanics, not character, and a part of the game systems that players should be able to change to give them more options to decide how to play the game. Also, the idea that we shouldn't be "pitching a fit" or whatever said is again nonsense. This is the official forum, you really expect people not give feedback? While I like the game overall l hope no one is pretending there are not some glaring design faults.
  13. While shippers do damage goods occassionaly most of the time if goods are packaged properly no damage will come to them. I have shipped hundreds of items from the company I used to work for, I can't remember one time we heard of any damage to the items inside. As far as bugs go I guess have been lucky to not encounter many. I really love Pillars of Eternity and can't wait for The White March.
  14. That is an interesting idea. As long as the quality of the speech is good that is.
  15. From what I have read the story is self contained and though made for approx. level seven characters does have some scaling. What I am most excited for is dual classing, not true dual class but lesser versions of class powers. Really exciting possibilities.
  16. I do not believe there is a way, I haven't seen one. Perhaps it can be modded in.
  17. That is the last place he would go. If he is leaving Obsidian and still wants to work in gaming he is either forming his own studio or just going to act as a contractor on projects he finds interesting. I don't see him becoming a cog in a large developer like Bethesda.
  18. Now they've announced that sneak won't be party wide with patch 2.0 and The White March. Much needed improvement. While I like the game quite a lot it definitely shows that a bigger budget and more time would have give us a more complete and polished game. I'm definitely looking forward to the expansion.
