That really sucks about not getting a job because of a credit report I think they ran one on me when I started working for "The Man" and I work for an advertising and marketing company and my job has nothing to do with finances. I do have a corporate card but that didn't come until a year or two later. Speaking of work, our CEO just announced a short work day tomorrow because it's hot outside.- The general firearms thread!

It may just be a big misunderstanding I know whenever someone asks me if I'm a god I always say yes in the off chance they may be Gozer the Gozerian- Shadowrun Returns
I'm still really curious about how that all went down behind the scenes I still have 1 more key if you want it- Kids react to interracial Cheerios commercial controversy
How are things in South Africa? Are there a lot of interracial couples/families? Growing up where I did in Arizona there weren't a lot of us- Shadowrun Returns

The city of Denver has an "assault weapons ban" and has for almost 25 years but it's legal in the rest of the state. The law was changed somewhat a few years ago and removed the list of guns that were explicitly prohibited to a more vague definition of "All semiautomatic action, centerfire rifles with a detachable magazine with a capacity of twenty-one (21) or more rounds." There is a lot of discussion but no clarification on if that means that you can own it as long as you don't have magazine that can hold 21 or more rounds or that if the rifle has commercially available magazines capable of holding more rounds then it is banned. I know that sounds stupid but it really is being debated and I don't want to chance anything even if it's not being actively enforced as the fine goes up to $1000 and you can spend up to 6 months in jail. The new state laws passed this year limit magazine sizes to 15 rounds, require universal background checks and charge gun owners the cost of the check. I don't know how long the magazine restriction will last though because it's already being challenged and often called an unenforceable feel good law- The general firearms thread!
Ha! If I never drill with a rifle again it will be too soon I just like shooting targets and collecting. I've taken the Colorado concealed carry course with my wife but it was more to teach her about safety than anything else as I never plan to actually carry a weapon or use it for defense. My guns are always unloaded and locked up in my home office/spare bedroom so even if someone ever broke in to my home they would be of no use to me... or them. I would love to have add an old Peacemaker to my collection but in general I'm not a big fan of revolvers I often encourage friends who are curious or on the wall about shooting to come try it but I don't ever try to push the issue. Some people are scared or uncomfortable or just plain not interested. I've gotten a few of my wife's closest friends hooked on shooting once they got past the initial apprehension- The general firearms thread!
I want a 9mm pistol to fill out my collection and give my wife something else to shoot. She started with a .22 pistol but now wants something a little more solid and the last time we were at the local indoor range she enjoyed a few of the 9's they had for rent, especially the Beretta 92. I was already eyeing the following handguns after reviews from friends Walther PPQ H&K P30 CZ 75 SP-01 I also really want a nice rifle that I can take to one of the outdoor ranges here and am partial to a good old AR15 but the local laws say no to that. All we do is shoot targets, no hunting, and not really for self defense either EDIT: I guess I should also list what I already own as well .45 Beretta PX4 Storm - I hated the plastic grips at first but now I really enjoy firing it .40 Baby Desert Eagle 2 - my wife picked this for me based on looks but it's actually been pretty good and has great weight and is fun to shoot .22 Ruger SR22 - I got this for my wife to get her interested in shooting. It worked and now she wants to go to the range even more often than I do- The general firearms thread!

Rereading Neat by Russell Zimmerman to get myself into a Shadowrun state of mind for the upcoming week- This George Zimmerman thing
I don't know about what others do but we are told to fire warning shots into the ground since if you fire into the air you never know where it will come down I wouldn't dare deny that there is still a lot of racial inequality in the US but it's definitely played up for ratings and votes. It also relates into what we were discussing in one of the police threads with popular culture and media which reinforces and glamorizes stereotypes and criminal behavior, lack of quality education and little to no emphasis placed on it, little chance for upward movement, etc. When people feel that the system is stacked against them they are more willing to see injustice around every corner and don't get me wrong, what happened was a tragedy, but if they were the same color this wouldn't be news That's a good (but still pretty bad) enough of a segue for me to post this I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=TG4f9zR5yzY- What you did today
I had a joke about how by changing the appearance of the rifle it has now become an "assault weapon" even though the function has remained same but I think it would have only been funny to me. What I did today? Nothing really, just another day in the life of a soulless corporate drone EDIT: Almost forgot I spent a few hours trying to find some info on speeding fines for when my wife inevitably gets caught and gets a ticket. I swear they make it impossible to find on purpose. Every link just sends you in a big circle and you end up with no information other than how to pay. I'm not anti govt but today I feel like they are trolling me- This George Zimmerman thing
Sorry to nitpick but it's a pet peeve As for the actual case I don't see how it could have turned out any different with only one person living to tell the tale and the evidence matching up well enough to his story. It's a tragedy and probably could have easily been avoided. I just can't muster the outrage that I see in a lot of people over this because in my opinion it was two people looking for a confrontation and they both got more than they bargained for- What you did today

- Jesus walks the earth again?
Just put him in a crowded room and let him mingle for a while before randomly walking over and casually dropping the name Jesus to a nearby group of people, not so loud that everyone turns and looks but not so quiet as it goes unnoticed. If he turns around and says what then he most likely is Jesus. It's pretty close to an error proof test- Non-romance dynamics in games
I saw that one person objected to a teen girl selling herself and another, quite understandably, doesn't want his daughter going down that path but to me that doesn't seem that strange. I may be missing something though because I admit I haven't been following this thread very closely as it's not something I'm very interested in since I haven't played any of the games mentioned. I've only chimed in on these off topic tangents
