Finally got a chance to try the tournament thing and it was a cake walk for my 'Sin but my Sorc gets destroyed pretty badly. They are both in a mix of 216/220 gear but my Sorc has an influence level 50 Lana while my other guy is like 44. Maybe I just suck at Sorcing- The Funny Things Thread

Low level kensai doesn't really have much of an edge over regular fighters, and they are decidedly at a disadvantage because no armor and you don't get good AC bracers until later on. Kagain is an excellent tank, but since there is no "threat" in the BG games to speak of, kensai requires a hell of a lot of micromanagement, more or less the way you described, because your "tanks" will not be able to reliably keep enemies from attacking other characters in melee range. Go in, put down the hurt, get out before they can strike back. Prioritise archers and especially mages, but keep in mind that even clerics can give you a run for your money one-on-one, if they can get some buffs off. It doesn't get better in BG2 either, which is why kensages are so popular. edit: best item for a kensai, bar none: Boots of Speed Kensai-Thief=Use Any Item=Best Kensai-Mage-Thief = Use Any Item + Magic = More Betterest (Yes I know this only works if you cheat and use EEKeeper, but is a perfectly allowable combination in PnP, so I don't care. ) Hmm, I'm going to give this a try for my first full playthrough of the entire series. I have no problem cheating in games I play by myself for fun Unless there is a mod that adds the warlock class- What You Did Today

I've used Dr Pepper and root beer on pork before but never tried anything with chicken. Thanks for this- What You Did Today
It started storming so we stayed in and grilled since there is a huge mostly covered patio- Nom Nom Nom - The Food Thread
We grilled some brats with pretzel buns. I've been obsessed with grilling whole green onions for everything so we did that as well. Added a little angry (horseradish) mustard and garlic and dill sour kraut. For dessert we grilled some peaches and had them with ice cream. Followed that up with some tea by the fireplace A good time was had by all- What You Did Today
Walking around Santa Fe. It's got an interesting vibe and the weather is much better than everywhere else we've been. Currently sitting in the man area of some women's boutique not too far from the house we rented- WarCraft movie is getting slaughtered by critics
I really like Blizzard as a company even though I don't play any of their games. During my first deployment in Iraq some people in my platoon who were diehard WoW addicts contacted Blizzard about pausing their subs or something until they got back. Blizzard asked for our unit mailing address and about a month or so later we got a package in the mail with a bunch of stuff and whatever was the newest WoW expansion and an awesome letter that detailed how to create a private server while stating they don't condone private servers and how they are forbidden. I don't know who signed off on that but the company has a lot of good will from me for that.- Movies You've Seen Recently Thread

Sure and I agree with that but I wasn't really thinking about the military as much as I was thinking about people getting more involved or caring more about taking heads calling for boots on the ground if it isn't someone else's son or daughter in harm's way. But I totally agree that an all volunteer professional fighting force is superior- US Election 2016, part II

No, I don't disagree that the military can be a very rewarding career or stepping stone but it's definitely not for everyone or maybe even most people. I'm not even against conscription in general (not the conscript the unemployed) provided that it remains fair and those with means and privilege can't just defer out of it or get assigned to champagne units... So I'm against it...60/40?... 70/30?- US Election 2016, part II
