Vacation is approved and we've narrowed destinations down to just three places. Just gotta make a final decision and pull the trigger on it.

A real and unexpected problem for South Africa
ShadySands replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
I would think that those in power (or just the ruling class whether they actively participated or not) during apartheid and their children would have some pretty big advantages through generations of preferential treatment just as many of those who were oppressed (and their children) would still be severely disadvantaged to this day. Since crime and poverty tend to go hand in hand it's not really that surprising that it's so bad there. Especially when the vast majority is the underclass What's the solution? I dunno, maybe there isn't one -
The snark doesn't bother me. I'm used to people making fun of my hobbies Sure, I hang out on a video game website but not everything I do is that cool
-
If it makes you feel better the actual ad has none of the snark, It just says walk a dog while getting your steps in Most of that isn't true Here is the original ad

I cared Those were the only shooters I ever liked -
But Aliens did do 9/11 It's a well known fact that aliens from Sirius B orchestrated the whole thing in an effort to stop a treaty between the Reptilians and the Greys or more precisely their puppet shadow government that is hell bent on creating alien-human hybrids to recolonize the Earth Some people think the Annunaki from Nibiru also had a hand in it but those people are nuts Open your eyes sheeple

PS also picked up the Electioneering and Clones and Drones DLCs for Democracy 3

Thanks! Picked up DA:O, which was my favorite Dragon Age game by at least an order of magnitude, and Necropolis

Traffic signs here in Arizona say Pokemon Go is a no-go when driving Not my photo but here it is I installed it on my phone but I can't really play it in the two places I play the most games on my phone, bathroom and bedroom, so it doesn't get played

How does he go to the bathroom?
-
Thanks but unfortunately it's not likely. The doctors said they'd never seen someone survive with so much damage to their heart. He's not responding to whatever drugs they are giving him and they are running tests to see if they can operate even though they are doubtful of his chances at making it through surgery. If all the stars align they said he could maybe live another year or two but if not then he's probably not leaving the hospital From what I'm told anyway

On a plane to Arizona. Flying to Phoenix since it's a quarter of the price a flight to Tucson would set me back. My grandpa had a massive heart attack so I'm going to go hang out with him for a few days

Well Bruce, when I went to Qatar and Bahrain it was Ramadan so there wasn't much going on. I was deployed in Iraq at the time and barely knew what day it was let alone what holidays were going on. We had a joke that every day was Tuesday because we worked 7 days a week in 12 hour shifts so there was never really a beginning or end to the week. Monday didn't work because there was no weekend to at least reminisce about and hump day had too much hope since it would mean you were halfway done so every day was Tuesday. Anyway, one day I randomly got offered a 4 day break to Qatar. Normally these spots are fought over and usually taken by senior enlisted and officers but I was so burned out that I didn't even think to care about why it was being offered to me so I just accepted. It wasn't until I was already on the plane did I realize everything was closed and I was pretty much resigned to stay on base the whole time I'd be gone. On the bright side my trip was extended a bit due to who cares why so I got to spend some time in Bahrain too but really all I did was putter around base and sleep... oh, and get a pedicure because the base had a spa/salon and my feet were beat from wearing boots 18/7

I hated the bugs, the food, the humidity (I looked it up when I was there and I'm pretty sure my phone said it was Jell-O outside), and most of the people I met. Probably the least friendly state I've been too
