  1. Knives Out and Glass Onion. The first one was really good and the second one was good but I would probably rank it at least a full letter grade lower. Saw that 1899 was cancelled already. I'll probably still give it a watch, hopefully it doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
  2. This Green Bay game is fun
  3. That's the basic recipe I use as well but I don't add the juice from the pepperoncini. Though I do add more than 6 ounces of peppers. Just throw in a small handful of prunes, I haven't tried dates.
  4. It's great, I recommend it. Great tip I got from Gromnir for regular pot roast that I also use for Mississippi pot roast, add a few prunes. Nobody knows it's in there but the subtle sweetness it elevates the taste. I do mine in the pressure cooker now and I don't even bother removing them anymore, I just shred them in with the meat.
  5. Made solyanka for tonight Also fed the forum several posts
  6. Wifix took me to a new definitely not Russian with what's going on in the world today European market and they had the best homemade adjika I've ever tasted. I've been slathering it on the figuratively literal everything today. Then she took me to a liquor store and bought me my favorite Scotch. Either she's going to kill me or she actually likes me, win win.
  7. Wife wanted to give it another shot so I put in 2 more episodes. It's definitely not boring but I find it extremely frustrating because when it's good it's pretty good but then it also becomes about the dumbest thing I've ever seen almost immediately after. Since we're halfway through we might finish it but I don't know if the good parts are worth the parts that I have to get up and leave the room for.
  8. Too much Lagavulin. Forum keeps eating my post and I'm not even Yuropean. Unless you can catch it, you know, physically...
  9. Started watching the Recruit on Netflix. I think we're 2 or 3 episodes in but I don't think we'll continue it.
  10. What's the root of this new conflict/escalation? Old grievances? I believe that I've said before that I don't know much about the old war that isn't basic Wikipedia. Trying to recall anything about it from when it was actually going on but I think it was presented to us as super straightforward good guys vs bad guys but I didn't follow politics or world events as a kid and now that I'm older I know things are almost never so clear cut.
  11. Struggling with work today after a week of nonstop not stopping. I need a vacation after my holiday.
  12. Wife wanted to watch Glass Onion until she realized it's the Last Jedi guy. She's really holding on to that grudge.
  13. Hopefully not but you never can be too sure.
  14. Happy Christmas! Full house today, 11 of us total.
  15. My wife's reaction as well but it's homemade Tuna Helper basically. I kept it fairly simple because I wasn't sure if my family was going to like it, especially after the weird looks. They ended up killing the whole batch. It's super flexible and I highly recommend it. You can use box mac and cheese or make it from scratch and punch it up however you like it. It was a staple growing up being it's cheap, easy, and shelf stable.
  16. Kinda cold out but not as cold as this morning. Supposedly we hit -24
  17. My wife and I are not in agreement about Santa for our kid. Since we had our son later in life I got to see friends and family go through the Santa saga with their kids and while most of them didn't really care or mind being lied to about it there were a few that were genuinely hurt their parents tricked them for so long. Santa was not sold to us as real person growing up but as a symbol of the season and I don't want to make him a main focus of Christmas for my son either but my wife thinks I'm killing the joy and spirit of the season by not actively lying about it. I've got no problem exploring the Santa folklore with my son but I don't think I can look him in the eyes and tell him that Santa is a real person who brings him gifts. Maybe I am a joy killer. I'll write a trilogy of books about it but stop after I write myself into a corner with the second book, I think I'll call it the Joykiller Chronicles.
