  1. Eh, flat tax doesn't work well on the low end. Especially if you set the threshold so low that 500 bucks a month is taxed. 75 bucks a month is going to hurt that person much more than 1250 is going to hurt me. It's the difference between fair and equitable. PS our estate tax law is not what everyone keeps arguing. Ben's proposal is nowhere near the actuality as it starts at near 11 million not 1 and the rate is 40% not 85. I get that it's easier to argue against the lower number so I'll stop adding the actual law that they are trying to get rid of. PPS I agree with not telling people what they need but I extend that courtesy to the low end as well. Talking heads here love telling poor people what they should or shouldn't have
  2. I know a guy who already has the game since he was a KS backer and now has an extra key

  7. I propose reducing fractions
  8. I'm still not sure why people are arguing 85% after the first million. The real numbers are nowhere near that
  9. Isn't the current limit like 11 million for a couple before any taxes kick in? I feel like I posted something about this when "death taxes" first popped back up in the conversation. https://www.cbpp.org/research/federal-tax/ten-facts-you-should-know-about-the-federal-estate-tax
  10. VR can be expensive as well so that's a pretty big barrier to entry for what may turn out to just be a gimmick for all they know
  11. Crap, there goes my weekend
  12. I can't think of a single movie that I especially liked either of them in but I'm weird, so... Michael Fassbender would be my personal favorite from that generation, and Tom Hardy is up there for certain as well. Some actors who come to mind that I think are as good or better, or at least worthy of consideration (all within five years of Gosling's age): Michael Fassbender Tom Hardy Chiwetel Ejiofor Tahar Rahim Oscar Isaac Jake Gyllenhaal Ejiofor is probably my favorite of that bunch followed by Hardy PS my favorite Chiwetel Ejiofor movie is probably Redbelt
  13. On a Billy Joel kick today
  14. I also took silent protag to mean that they have dialogue but are not voiced I don't mind having my character voiced if it is a set character even if I can modify them to a large degree, I'm thinking Shepard from Mass Effect here. For blank slate characters I prefer them to not have their dialogue voiced.
  15. The only lootbox strategy I ever liked was Lord of the Rings Online but that has changed with the latest expansion. All the lootboxes (lootboxen?) are rarish drops and deed rewards and the keys to open them are slightly more rare drops and deed rewards but you can also buy them in the store for fairly cheap. The new highest level Mordor boxes are still rarish drops but the keys are only available in the store. None of the keys or boxes are bound so you can trade them but I still don't like that the new keys are only mtx.
  16. I loved that game as a kid but have no desire to see the movie
  17. I hate Ajit Pai and I usually don't have such strong feelings about people in government but seriously, **** that guy.

  19. Struggling to catch up in classes this semester. Last semester was straight As and now I'm just hoping to pass. Didn't help that I was so heavily medicated the last few months that I could barely function let alone comprehend new concepts and ideas. Sorry to hear that Barti

  21. Is Al Franken done? Also, this Ouch! Germany replaces U.S. as country with best global image #MAGA
  22. I am sure the information that the hunt helps the species won't be bought. I have a real personal problem with hunting for reasons other than consumption. But that's me. These hunts take place in other countries in accordance with their laws. It is not the US governments business to tell citizens they can't go to a place they are welcome to do an activity that is legal. And this ban was yet another example of an intrusive nanny state sticking it's nose where it does not belong. If you want the hunts banned you really should be talking to the governments that not only allow but encourage them. As distasteful as I find the activity, free people should be left alone to pursue their interests as long as they are legal where they pursue them. The ban was only on bringing back trophies though, right? We never stopped them from getting their rocks off by killing the animals.
