  1. Before anyone restarts over this, you can fix attributes with console commands. Either by unlocking them via "iroll20s" or downloading the IEmod (if you care about achievements)
  2. for expert, doesn't it make it so your characters die if their health hits 0 instead of maiming? That was the main reason I didn't use it.
  3. Ahhh! I -am- pretty feisty with those quicksaves so that would explain it. Might do a bit of testing tonight.
  4. I heard something about a specific item causing that bug. Some Horn of Plenty or something? Might want to see if that's your problem.
  5. The one time I had combat not-finishing there were nearby badguys who were in a bizarre semi-aggro state. Like I think they were SUPPOSED to join in on that fight and didn't? Not entirely sure but killed them and it fixed it so maybe check for that if it comes up.
  6. Writing is an interesting thing to try and critique. I'm not sure where to even begin but I will say that I've played a LOT of rpgs over the years and this one has me reading the side-lore stuff that I almost always skip. It's partly the writing and partly the lore, which is kinda tied to design, not sure where that line is drawn. But I like how it feels like this area has history from before the PC exists that is actually interesting. The Godhammer and the religious/political stuff in the first village is all pretty cool. And also, although I'm sure this will eventually change, I really like how so far my PC isn't saving the entire universe from destruction. Something weird happened and I'm trying to figure out what's up. Good! I don't want to get bogged down in super-heavy nonsense if my playing experience is going to be mostly wandering around getting into misadventures.
  7. I don't HATE it but it does kind of minimize the impact of finding enchanted items that you could recreate with crafting. BG2 had freaking AMAZING itemization. I think that was literally the best rpg items I've ever found. Tons of excellent weapons/armor/belts/etc that really effected your characters. The ones I've seen so far (only maybe 10-15 hours deep, so lots more to come!) haven't blown my socks off the same way. But man, look at dragon age if you want to see some really crappy itemization.
  8. Nice catch. A workaround is good enough for me, the extra aoe only matters visually on occasion.
  9. Oh they are definitely in hard-core QA mode right now, I would imagine. It's a bummer but not surprising when dealing with complicated games like this. I just hope they can get a hot-patch out soon fixing the major bugs. I'm not sure this talent qualifies compared to some of the other game-breaking stuff, but it would be nice!
  10. I tried the AddAbility as suggested here http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=157865161&postcount=3265 BUT unfortunately although it adds it to "Abilities" it doesn't add it to Active Abilities which I think is the problem. For example I was experimenting with the companion cleric's Bears Fortitude. I checked it was listed in "Active Abilities" and "Talents" I removed it by double-clicking to equip some armor. It stayed in "Talents" but was removed from "Active Abilities" When trying to re-add it via AddAbility it was added to the "Ability" list but not "Active Abilities". I verified that the +10 fortitude was not, in fact, being applied to the characters stats.
  11. You try reloading? I had something like that happen and a save/reload cycle fixed it right up. I think it might have been related to that boon that temporarily halts conditions, at least that seemed to be the case when I got it.
  12. Just picked up the ranger companion but it seems like her Marked Prey isn't doing any extra damage. Hard to tell for sure because you can't see the damage roll but I'm getting lots of damage strikes below 20 before DR is applied from both her and her pet. Too bad because that actually seemed like a useful talent to take out prime targets.
  13. I had a similar issue using minor blights on Aloth. Kinda scared to cast that again as I had to revert to an earlier save. It permanently locked the grimoire slot and also started bugging out his weapon slots afterwards. Definitely some problems when that spell ends setting things back to normal.
  14. Same thing happening to me, I believe it's wide-spread. Hopefully they come up with a hotfix soon. In the meantime I wonder if adding it back via console command would work? Would probably botch your achievements (if that matters to you.) EDIT: Nevermind, it's not that the character is losing the ability (it's still on the character sheet) it's just stopped procing for some reason.
  15. I just wanted to thank all the people who helped kickstart this game and the fine folks at Obsidian for making a wonderful game in a genre I miss dearly.
  16. An idea I saw recently, and tried out, is a chanter-tank. So max out PER and RES, tertiary INT and don't tank CON. Works pretty good (the Moon-Godlike heal has good synergy) because the chants go well with front lining. The spell-effects won't be maxed out since you're not focusing on MIG and INT but if you focus on CC, buff/debuff and summons, you can get good spell results as well as a good tank.
  17. So I did some testing (and eventually actually reading the blurb on the ability) -Marskman does NOT help spell accuracy. It's still not a bad talent for a wizard since they'll probably be doing a fair amount of ranged combat. -Marksman DOES stack with the wood elf bonus when using wands (so +10 accuracy total) -The wood elf bonus DOES work with spells, giving +5acc when you're past a few meters (ie: the back half of fan of flames was getting the bonus).
  18. Int also affects duration so I would consider it pretty important for charm/cc.
  19. In the BB, the druid was the clear dominator in the caster department. I've heard it mentioned that a balancing pass is intended for day1 to debuff druids and buff wizards so hard to know until we see the new numbers! TBH there isn't a large mechanical difference between having a PC wizard or a companion wizard so pick a class you like and it'll likely work out ok. None of the caster classes are lemons so priest/druid/wizard/cypher will all be fine as a pc imho. I would pick whichever one you would prefer to RP.
  20. From what I've observed it seems they have an advantage with regards to weapon swing recovery. TWC does not do a 'double-attack'.
  21. I tried melee cypher for a while, but had much better results using a blunderbuss. It was superior in damage, focus generation and survivability. Using wood elf + marksman on a caster to gain accuracy for spells is an interesting idea I hadn't considered! Generally speaking, the cypher was pretty darn good. Excellent CC and good damage usable every fight. The wizard was weaker for the average fights (partly because I would be saving spells) but was terrific when it counted and everything was unleashed. Hard to compete with the potential of 4 fireballs in a row on a slickened group of enemies.
  22. You could...not click the tombstones... do you really need a mod for that? Is your self-control so weak that any clickable object MUST be clicked? If this is the thing people are complaining about, Obsidian did a good job.
