Chanter is my personal favorite. -Significantly increases party dmg (-2x reload speed chant, lol). -His pets are actually very good, unlike lolRanger. -Has a nice constant area heal. -Also his corpse explosion ability can be OP in some battles. Although his usefulness drops a bit if you don't any reload weapon users. Considering those are the best weapons at the moment that isn't an issue

Sounds like a DW Rogue, Fighter, Barb but without the capability to use life-leech weapons and no escapes and overall less utility.....and has to actually get hit resulting in pointless micro and wasted Priest spells. Monk isn't terrible, but could use some love as he's not really the best at anything.

Anyone find a unique arquebus?

Are unique items just the named ones? -
Yeah he makes a great tank. But he serves as bar none the best party dps buffer via the "Arrow" chant in the back lines, if you have multiple ranged weapon users (Which are apparently the best weapons to use int he game). In this spec he's no slouch himself, with maxed Mig/Dex (since you don't need that much INT, as per OP suggestions) the direct dmg Incantations along with full Gun talents make you amazing all around. I bet someone could make a decent if not awesome long range melee dps Chanter too (pike/staff), I have to test that out. Full melee talents, full MIG/DEX, fear aura chant, the direct dmg cone attacks. Possibly completely dump int since you are close anyways.

Hard mode is too easy.

Yeah once u finally get the hang of things it gets easy. But some classes could use some love. -
Monk and Ranger feels like a wasted spot in the party. Sure you can probably do the game no problem with them, but replacing them with just about any other class would result in a superior party. -There are much better tanks and melee-dps than Monk. Fists get outclassed making you take up weapons. A second rate fighter/barb/rogue. -There is much better ranged-dps than ranger, that also come with cc/aoe/buffs. His pet just really blows and he lacks special skills. A second rate Ranged Chanter/Cipher/Rogue.

You aren't bad. I thought the same thing for a week until I started figuring out the insane stuff. I now obliterate hard. -Cipher wants Blunderbuss for fast resource. Also consider the Island Amua quickswitch spec, but I honestly don't think its needed if you have: -Chanter with the Bow Chant = 2x reload speeds = lol. (also gunner talent). -Slow Guns in general own. I put one on Aloth and Durance so they can explode stuff when not using spells. -Tanks want to stack deflect like crazy. Per/Res and similiar gear/talents. -Spells to use: Anything that has solid CC. Chilling Fogg, Slick, Mind Wave, etc. MindWave and Slick together = maximum cheese. I'm not sure if Monk tanks are supposed to be good, but I do know that Pally+Fighter combo is killer.

My favorite Chanter build is a ranged buffer/gunner, 17 Mig (Hit for more) 17 Dex (Hit Faster) 17 Int (Longer/Bigger chants and incantations) Spread the rest as you want. Hell, even dump them for more M/D/I. I only use the "Arrow" Chant. This lets my resource build faster with only having 1 set up, and it's his most overpowered buff. Very high dmg, insane buffs, and awesome summons. Literally a much better version of Ranger. Four of my total party also use gun/crossbows making me MVP by far. (I hooked Mother, Aloth, Durance up with blunder/arbelasts).

BG2 EE if you haven't played BG2 at all. But Pillars is damn close. PoE has far better gfx, newer user friendly, and is updated combat mechanics. BG2 has a far more forgiving rest mechanic and exponentially more builds due to multi/dual classing resulting in far less tank/dps/healer trinity polarization of PoE. Get both, or all 3.

I think Tier 1 spells becoming encounter based at level 4, and Tier 2 spells becoming encounter based at level 6 would completely even the playing field for general Wizard useful ness across all battles. Currently this happens at lvl 9 and 11, but I think that is a bit too far of a wait and nothing but artificial difficulty.

I want a mod that makes wizard spell teirs 1-2 per encounter at level 4 and 6 respectively (rather than 9 and 11), and also Wild-Shape gains another encounter use every 3 levels and make the dmg scale better with talents if you wanted to spec that way.

What are you two other characters apart from m/b/p/f? I always wanted to main a monk or barb but never could build them right, just kept dying. This is good tips. I've learned a lot since going in blind day 1, and might try again.

Wizard usually are better in hard boss/named fights. (I say usually because some fights auto-start in a tiny room, making slicken possibly a detriment, but that is rare.) But I'm not seeing many people main one, because auto-attacking a majority of the battles as someone called "Wizard" is understandably off-putting for some. , at hight level the spell become 4 per encounter. Do you know at what level?
