The PS3 without a HD? Guess what the Xbox 360 ...
EnderAndrew replied to Drakron's topic in Computer and Console
I haven't heard anything official on PS3 pricing. There was plenty of speculation on XBox 360 pricing as well. Some said $300 and some said $600. The PS3 won't have an uber-model with a hard drive, just a basic package. I imagine they might sell it for $350. Most consoles historically have sold most of their units at $150 or less. When these get down to the $200 mark, I imagine they will sell like hotcakes. -
There are editor tools for Dungeon Siege as well. Not only can you build a complete stand-alone game, but you can replace the entire combat engine. Check out: http://www.u5lazarus.com/

I read in an interview that Feargus not only picked up Icewind Dale, but several properties from Interplay as they held a fire sale.

I love how no one has responded to my point that the limited edition preorder copies are still sitting on retail shelves. Bioware expected a huge hit, and it got moderate success at best. The game clearly underperformed for expectations.

I have always received the error on every new topic.

I agree that distinction is not always made, but I think it should be. Otherwise the heroes of our own Revolutionary War are in fact terrorists.

I'd like to say that I LOATHE Fox News and don't consider them a credible news source. I hate everyone who appears on that damned station. However I also thing that Cindy Sheehan is a nut case. Her son wasn't drafted or forced to do anything against his will. He volunteered for military service, and now she demands unique treatment. She demands that she alone get personal justification for her loss. What makes her unique or special? She blames Bush solely and not in fact the men who killed her son, nor does she place any responsibility on her son's decision to volunteer for military service. I have a news flash for you. If you volunteer to join the military, you might be required to serve in a military capacity. I am sorry that Cindy Sheehan lost a son. I don't want to ever truly understand what it is like to lose a child. However, I don't agree with her crusade in the least. It seems most that side with her are doing so as a means to further their dislike for Bush. I maintain that if you want to blast Bush, then blast him for valid reasons, and not these weak arguements.

You are saying that fundamentalists like Pat Roberts are only found in America? You're kidding me, right? There are fundamentalists all over the world. Athenian Democracy is popular to discuss, and while they innovated, they did not spread Democracy to the rest of the world. Some historians credit the Magna Carta for inspiring our Constitution and Bill of Rights, but really the two documents have next to nothing in common. I would argue that we pulled more so from the Constitution of the Iriquois Nation though our founding fathers would be unlikely to admit it. The documents read very similiar. Either way, I can present an academic arguement about how the USA is in fact the most free nation on this planet and futhermore how we have done more than any nation on this planet to further democracy. If someone wants to test this, I would challenge them to first offer up a nation which is more free and which has done more to spread democracy. I'm taking all commers.

Often the difference between terrorism and freedom fighters is targetting civilians as opposed to the government. In FF7 you fight a government. The terrorists we fight today murder innocent civilians. There is a movie coming out called V for Vendetta which is worrying some because the protagonist is being described as a terrorist, where as he only targets the government. I believe that to be an important distinction that most people seem to routinely miss.

It is similiar to the big dipper except for two things. The big dipper faces the other direction, and it has seven stars instead of six. There is also a recurring theme of mirrors and parallels, but I believe that to be a subset of the larger duality theme. People used to navigate by the stars, and thusly those stars and the numbers represent a means to get to the island. They unlock the secret. What exactly the island and secret is however I don't know. I like the Alien Ant Farm theory, akin to 2001, but I doubt that is really it. The Black Rock certainly made me think of the monolith in 2001.

I think that everything on the island is an aspect of duality. There will be two camps, the white and black stone, adam and eve, etc. I think there are actually two monsters. When Locke first saw the monster, he thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world. In the finale, he was terrified of what he saw. I also like the parallel of the young black boy playing backgammon with and older white guy. It is all about contrast. The hatch is Pandora's Box. Lenny, the insane guy who heard the numbers on the radio broadcast and gave them to Hurley said that Hurley had opened the "box". Locke said the Hatch contained Hope, which is the last thing to come out of Pandora's Box. Now, here is what the numbers really mean. Look closely. When Lenny is playing Connect 4 in the nuthouse, the board has a similiar pattern. The game had a grid of 6 x 7. Check out the the pattern now. What numbers are those?

648 Dead, 322 Hurt in Iraq Bridge Stampede

That is beside the point. You said earlier that a few hundred people or a few thousand people dead isn't depressing but a few billion people would be. Individual human lives mean nothing to you then. -
I did every sidequest in the game save for one. I was offered a quest that only Close-Fist characters could complete and I played Open-Fist. Yet I know I beat the game in less than 20 hours. 15 hours may be accurate, and I've heard the same claim from most people who have beat the game. 40-60 hours is flat-out absurd.

A friend of mine works for a company called Nanometrics and they build stages to measure down below picometers and such, so that people can use such small measurements in building hard drives, processors, etc. He told me the industry is at a stand still because hard drive layers can't get any smaller, and processors can't get any smaller. What will people do? Except people have been saying the same thing for 20 years and we keep making breakthroughs. The exact same thing can be said for population. The reason that hunger is so prevalant in the world is that few countries know how to properly be self-sustained. I watched a special on how a gentleman (can't remember his name) has been travelling to third world countries and teaching them advanced horticulture techniques to end world hunger. The UN said that man has probably saved 1 billion lives over the past 50 years. Due to men like him, the world's population has tripled from 2 billion to 6 billion. And look at all the empty space we still have. No doubt we can continue to learn to be exponentially more efficient as time goes by. Regardless of population, your disregard for the sanctity of human life is duly noted. -
I loved the reviews that said the story in Jade Empire was deeper and better than KOTOR. Then again Driv3r got some 99 scores as well. I rarely trust gaming reviews anymore.

Tell me how it isn't a sport then. I'm listening.

For once I agree with you. One could argue that NWN bastardized the D&D rules just as much as BG:DA however. I'm really hoping that NWN:2 sticks close to the core rules. As far as PNJ goes, it will be an action-RPG so making the action enjoyable is more important that turn-based rules in a real-time setting.

The enemy AI was still simple and predictable. Changing the difficulty does not change the AI, merely the ammount of damage done or received. I think there was only two or three difficulty levels.

Hades let me tell you a brief story. There are two people on a beach, a small boy and an old man. Before them on the beach there are thousands of starfish that were swept on shore from a powerful storm the previous night. The boy is walking down the shore, picking up starfish one by one and with all his muster, tossing them back into the sea. The old man casts a stern glance and says, "what are you doing? You can't possibly save them all. What difference does it make?" The boy stops and thinks before picking up another. "It matters to this one." -
Welcome to the foums by the way!

As a friendly reminded, PM me or even better, email me at my GMAIL.COM address. Someone sent an email to me through the forums which goes to my spam account. I wouldn't have seen the email or the moves except I use that account to sign up things and had to check it for a validation email.
