  1. If you attend a game that isn't televised, it doesn't have all those breaks. During televised games, a TV guy steps on the field to stop the action. The players and refs can't do anything until he steps off the field to signal that the commercial break is over. I hate it. But I don't think that makes the sport less valid as a sport.
  2. I was changing Avril Lavigne lyrics earlier tonight to twist one of her songs into Holocaust humor. Truly I'm going to hell.
  3. I've seen the clip where he makes the famous quote. However nutjobs get on TV in a variety of countries. Jihad makes for great TV in the Middle East for instance. I already offered up a few points which no one has addressed, but you guys called me crazy out of hand. So you don't have to defend your aguements but I have to? First off, in the wake of terrorism, we have been tested. We are forced to reexamine where the line gets drawn on security versus individual rights. The more personal liberties we give up, the easier it is to provide security, but despite the chicken littles screaming that we've lost personal liberites, we still retain complete freedom of speech. I am shocked by how many countries honestly don't really offer 100% freedom of speech. Shouldn't this be basic and unalienable? How do you really have a democracy when the people can't express themselves freely? Both Russia and England are however rolling back on freedoms in the wake of terrorism. Germany outlaws political opinions that it finds offensive, such as neo-nazi posts. Most find those offensive, but freedom of speech is an absolute. In the United States, not only do we have the Bill of Rights to secure our basic rights, we have the ability to ammend the Constitution to make up for flaws in our government, growing and improving as we go along. This power to change gives us even more freedom to push for changes as the democracy sees fit. The United States has been the principle instigator in Democracy's spread through much of the world, and we uphold its tenents as absolutes instead of guidelines which can be bent. Out bicameral legislative branch is a good example of democracy and freedom at work, providing a compromise to ensure that all states are protected at a federal level. They are provided equal representation regardless of population on one side, and the majority is given more representation on the other side. Everyone is happy. Threats to freedom come from both minorities and majorities and when upholding a democracy, both need to be addressed.
  4. I am so going to hell.
  5. Wow. This shocked me when I read it. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143371
  6. What can I say? I was hungry and/or lonely.
  7. You mean there are clean clergymen?
  8. Ender sprays Mod-Away in fear of the inevitable thread closure.
  9. I completely agree. The storytelling wasn't groundbreaking, the story itself was weak, and the combat was weak. The one thing they did well was create a beautiful world. Too bad we saw very little of it.
  10. I wonder where McDonalds gets all that "special sauce"?
  11. I thought you were talking about the recent claim. That post in April was later clarified. Morgan said they were finished and handed off to LucasArts in April, and he didn't know why they sat there.
  12. A dev didn't make any posts here saying a patch would come out. A magazine said they had heard from a dev the patch would come out. LucasArts ultimately is in control of the situation and they won't even acknowledge the situation or say anything.
  13. Very true. Read Song of Songs and apparenly God is down with kinky sex so long as you are married.
  14. True, this should go to the Spoilers forum. I'm sure Battlewookie will move it.
  15. I think originally building a city below sea level wasn't too bright. Not maintaing levies when the entire safety and security of your city depends on them isn't bright however either. I also think those that chose to remain and wait out the hurricane when they were told to evacutate last week weren't that bright either. Yet what is done is done. The most important thing right now is a quality evacuation plan and trying to save as many lives as possible. Then you see about pumping the water out and then consider if reconstruction is possible.
  16. Saying the war in Iraq is responsible for New Orleans is just flat-our ridiculous. Homeland Security budget concerns stemmed from terrorist attacks on US soil, not the war in Iraq. People need to get their facts straight. And ultimately, each state and city makes their own decisions where to spend money, so pointing fingers at Bush is misplaced here. I can't believe how blind people have become by partisian politics and hatred that they can't differentiate fact from fiction.
  17. The Plague decimated Europe real quick. Another could happen in theory.
  18. "Dear Russia, Seeing as how our centralized neighbors have sought alliances, I think it would probably be a good idea to get our own alliance going so as to defend against their future hostilities. An alliance betwen Austria and Italy could mean the death of my fine country, and a strong Austria could prove dire for you as events carry on. Therefore I request we reveal ourselves and start strategerizing immediately. Not to mention that if we spend our time bickering over the Black Sea, it leaves us both open to attacks from the west. From Turkey with Love"
  19. I think random loot is fine in certain places, but I wished more of the game had fixed drops.
  20. What are you asking? There are 3 Prestige Classes for the Light Path and 3 for the Dark Path. They are supposed to be natural extensions of the base 3 Jedi classes. A Guardian would become a Sith Assassin or Jedi Weaponmaster for instance.
  21. I'm predominately liberal, and I wouldn't call NPR a reputable news source either. Not only are they biased in their slant, they also don't believe in fact checking. I have heard more bogus stories on NPR than any other so-called news network. There are two places I trust for news, BBC and CNN. That's it.
  22. 1. I wondered this as well. However, given that Kreia/Traya is a deceiver, I don't think the Force Bond was ever truly lethal. 2. I presume T3 is flying the ship and rescuing you. T3 is the pimp. 3. I don't remember, but I thought HK or someone ended up shooting G0T0. Either way, the whole G0T0/HK/Remote plot is clearly unfinished. Some of this stuff is in cut-content on the disc. There was another planet in the game that was cut, as well as part of the ending. 4. This is part of the cut-content. HK-47 was supposed to be able to lead you to the droid planet where are the HK-50's come from. At the last minute, part of this become the Droid Factory instead. You can discover in-game that there is no human communicating to you via G0T0. G0T0 is just a droid, and is behind the HK-50 droids that have been trying to kill you. 5. I imagine that Traya is older than we think and she was behind the academy and thusly named it, or she took her name from the academy and wasn't the first Darth Traya. It is a shame that LucasArts rushed the game and we got an unfinished ending.
  23. Obsidian made a post about a content patch, and then LucasArts demanded they remove the post. Who gave up?
  24. X-Men Legends had some good points and bad points. DA-style games are best when played multiplayer. However, when playing Legends multiplayer, the other players must sit and wait around. In between combat, you walk around the Xavier mansion to explore and talk to NPCs. The story and exploration is a nice break from the non-stop combat of DA, but it forces the game into single-player mode for a while. The game is also quite short. I am eager to see what is improved in Legends 2.
