Steinbeck also comes up with great story ideas and tells them poorly. Read the Grapes of Wrath. It's near unbearable. Chapter 1 - There is dust. It's called a dustbowl. Chapter 2 - There is a really dusty road with a turtle. Chapter 3 - The turtle flips on it's back and a car drives by. I kid you not. Yet the Grapes of Wrath adapts rather well to stage and film. The same can be said Of Mice and Men. Steven King comes up with good ideas, and tells them poorly.

It doesn't change the fact the the alignment system pales greatly to a morality path system.

I think we'll see an expansion or two before HL3. Then again Bethseda was working on Morrowind expansions at the same time they were working on the new engine for Oblivion. Valve doesn't rush games.

Largely overrated and eccentric? Then again, I've never read the Dark Tower series. I think King comes up with good ideas (see Apt Pupil, The Stand, Stand by Me, The Shining, etc) but that doesn't mean he is a good writer.

It's another part of the reason why I don't like Paladins, and why I don't like D&D. Heck, I'll take GURPS over D&D.

Honest to God, I've been using the service myself and am really happy with them. http://projectfanout.com runs on them. The webpage loads rather fast, and the forums use to run rather fast. I have to reoptimize the forums. But most hosts give you like 5 gigs of bandwidth a month for $10. If you do the two year plan, you're getting 150 gigs of bandwidth for $4.90 a month. Even the one year plan works out well. $5.18 a month. I've always been rather happy with them, and refer them, but the reason I'm posting about them now is because of the 6 free months, or 14 free months thing.
