  1. The concept of development being tied into your actions isn't bad. It's the scale implemented that doesn't work. Starting out rather weak, and practicing forever isn't fun. In Ultima Online, you have to start out killing bunnies for practice. A dear might kill you. It's realistic, but not fun.
  2. Arthur Dent has been cast by some rather popular British actor from "The Office", which made people happy. I'm reserving judgement. I haven't even watched the teaser trailer. I'm terrified of hating the movie. I have been warned that this movie is quite different from the books, but the books were quite different from the radio show. However, I have been assured that the majority of the changes came from Douglas Adam's original script. For instance, Zaphod's second head isn't on his shoulder. Don't ask me. The important thing is not the details. It's the style. The BBC show didn't feel right for me. I hope the movie captures Adams style, but I doubt any movie can. Saying that the answer is 42 is not funny in and of itself. It was the narrative and the humorous asides. It was the irreverant way that he looked at everything. The Hitchhiker's Universe needs to be viewed from that angle.
  3. If you want to cry, put on some angsty music, or watch a sappy movie and get it out of your system. You'll feel better. Don't do anything half way; that's my advice. And, thanks. (fragments good. sentences bad.)
  4. Donde esta el bano? El queso es viejo y mojo.
  5. I'm trying to recommend Torment, that's all. If he thinks Baldur's Gate is phenomenal, then he might really be blown away by Torment.
  6. I thought it was rule zero. And who said Volourn won arguements?
  7. The movie is based off a script that Douglas Adams wrote before he died. In my mind, a classic is determined by both popularity and it's ability to stand the test of time. Harry Potter may actually meet both criteria.
  8. Why?
  9. I'm impressed by people who can speak multiple languages. I really wish the education system in the United States would push that. I only speak broken Spanish.
  10. It comes and goes. Occasionally they are quite active. Akari used to be active in asking for feedback and answering questions. I see a lot more developer posts in the NWN:2 areas these days. I don't know if they're reading the whole board.
  11. There used to be a lot more flaming, however.
  12. You can accept star ships, aliens and lightsabers, but not game mechanics?
  13. I could live with that. From what I understand, the engine isn't great. Level design is a pain because the levels are pre-lit, etc.
  14. That's a pretty fast pace.
  15. Every girl is unic? Did you mean that every girl is a eunuch?
  16. Hades can't have fun unless he maintains his munchkin powers from the first game?
  17. DVD's have only been around like 8 years. They're stable. And while they don't handle scratches as well as CD's, DVD players don't scratch discs the way that cheap CD players do. I have tons of CDs that won't read or play. I don't have a single DVD that won't play. And that includes my PS2/XBox DVD's which get a lot of use. DVD's are not fragile as media.
  18. Baldur's Gate is alright, but doesn't even crack my top 5 or top 10 best RPGs of all time. Try games like Planescape Torment, Fallout, Fallout 2, Ultima IV, Ultima V, Ultima VII, etc. etc. Torment uses the BG engine (Infinity) but has a far superior storyline.
  19. I'm sorry. I'll be good.
  20. I was under the impression that the reason people have debated between the 2012 and the May 2014 date is that supposedly their calendars weren't 100% accurate. If we adjust for a few small errors, we move back a year and a half to 2014. But I haven't done any of the math myself. http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/09/02/asteroid.reut/
  21. I wonder if Volourn's poetry is anything like Vogon poetry.
  22. I believe that Baneblade also said that Torment's story was awful. So far, I've noticed that Baneblade seems to vehemently hate anything I like.
  23. I haven't seen a pure numerical breakdown of the total number of feats. However the game manual lists which classes get more feats. For instance, a Guardian gets more feats, but fewer force powers than a Consular and fewer skill points than a Sentinel.
  24. No. The fact remains that people are asking that once you start someone on a certain path (dark or light) that the NPC then give you influence for doing things along that new path. However, that means simply by playing whatever path you want to, you automatically will gain influence with your NPCs. Influence should be somewhat of a challenge. You have to think before choosing dialogue options.
