  1. Are they all working on the same project?
  2. Not likely since BIS is gone. Check Ebay.
  3. Well, I've personally witnessed characters being twisted to do things they'd never do before. I've witnessed people being driven to acts far from their normal behavior. That's making someone a puppet in my book. What more were you really looking for?
  4. Epiphany, My last post was a little harsh. And I didn't mean that as a personal attack on you. However, I really think that people are missing what this system is all about. Look at Palpatine. He acts generous. He acts kind. But he is a Sith Lord. Look at Obi-Wan in Episode 1. He had no compassion for the Gungangs, yet he is a Jedi Knight. Looks can be deceiving. Someones a small act of kindness is actually just a lead-in for a greater act of betrayal or corruption. And there are TONS of LS or DS points to be earned.
  5. You were expecting them to completely ditch their personality? Even if you twist their morals, they're still individuals with an entire lives worth of memories and experiences. They're not sheep. They're not automatons. Often, these are strong willed people. Are you saying that you expect every NPC to simply mimic your behavior? Where is the fun in that? The entire purpose of having NPCs is so their invidual personalities play upon the story. And you're complaining about that.
  6. Well, you can influence and change your NPCs. Yes, you can say the wrong things and get them to shut themselves off to you. Just like real life. If you bully them, you're probably not going to get too far with many of the party members. Just like real life. If you tell party members what they want to hear, and twist upon their existing feelings, you can change them. I've personally watched light side characters become dark side. I've watched NPCs that used to bitch about evil deeds gladly take part in them, and comment accordingly. What more did you want? Personally, I think the influence system went over a few people's heads on the first play through.
  7. If you can't figure out how to turn people, I'm sorry. But I've witnessed the influence system in action and it works great. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=27280&hl=
  8. How about this? http://www.newgrounds.com/collections/rab.html Personally I think that practically nothing is taboo. But I'll keep the REALLY offensive humor off the forum so I don't offend everyone.
  9. I sign all of my emails and PMs with my name. Even when I'm messenging Sarah 30 times a night. Don't ask me why.
  10. It only gets better. http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/1996-07-15/index.html Let me grab one with MilkMan Dan. http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/1996-11-25/index.html
  11. Chasing Amy didn't make me cry, but it did emotionally impact me. It was one of the most honest movies I've ever seen. Jersey Girl has a few really honest moments, but it has some sitcomism/cheese as well. I love the ending of Chasing Amy, and I'm one of the only ones. But that's how life really is.
  12. My impressions have always been that geeks value relationships more. Maybe it's because geeks believe relationships to be rare and elusive.
  13. How many people have complained versus how many units are selling?
  14. When people buy a game and experience few to no problems, they don't say anything. When they do experience problems, they bitch loudly. Yet there are people on the forums here who have had no problems at all. My buddy Tony is playing KOTOR:2 at his house, and so is his roomate. Neither of them have had any problems. I think they may have a better print of the disc, and just haven't triggered any bugs. I got the galaxy droid in KOTOR and ruined a save game. But not everyone did.

  16. And when she's playing on the TV, I'm content to play on one of our computers. We don't really fight.
  17. Chasing Amy is one of my favorite movies of all time. Jersey Girl is not Chasing Amy. Jersey Girl is not Kevin's best work. But it's still a damn fine movie that got bad media attention months before release. No one saw the movie. No one knew about the movie. Yet the media said it would bomb way in advance just because J-Lo was in it with Ben. I think that's pretty screwed up that the media decided to sink a movie they knew nothing about. Edit: And I was being sarcastic about Catwoman. That movie was horrid.
  18. Thanks. Her father is paying great lump sums of money so she can get a greencard... I mean... ::ducks and runs::
  19. CRPG usually means Computer Role Playing Game, but he can define it however he wants. Reality is defined by our perception of it.
  20. As do I to stop gaming and go to bed. Sleep is a lie.
  21. Sarah is always telling me I need more porn. I actually didn't have any until she moved in with me. Edit: Correction, I have a year's worth of Playboys that another girlfriend bought for me. So really, I've never bought porn. Women buy it for me.
  22. Yeah, but it uses the weird D20 stacking rules. Two x2 multiplayers = a x3 multiplayer.
  23. I think the game is a lot of fun. There are hundreds of thousands of people buying this game, no doubt, and a few dozen complaining about it online. You do the math.
