  1. There is a difficulty setting, but it doesn't do much. I have no qualms with the easy setting being easy. It would be nice for a more challenging mode however. But let's look at this game again. How well based is it in the D20 rules? It's not. You get tons of free feats for no apparent reason. You get items that are ridiculously powered. You just naturally generate life and force points. The core mechanics of KOTOR make the game quite easy.
  2. Next week. Midway is now a sub-division of Obsidian.
  3. You're entitled to your opinion on the WOD system. The new system is a little quicker. My point however, is that a system like the WOD system actually has rules to cater to "role" playing. If you play your nature/demeanor well, then you are rewarded with Willpower points. If you fail to play with your morality path, you are penalized. The game is designed to encourage role-play. D&D is not.
  4. http://atomfilms.shockwave.com/af/content/gangsta_rap_se We've got death star. That's all I got to say about that.
  5. Some people play RPGs for story. If I want challenge, I'll play a good strategy game, or Ninja Gaiden.
  6. Where is the portion of D&D character creation where you develop personality, ethics, background, etc? You can tell a lot about a roleplaying system by taking a peek at the character sheet. D&D is about "roll" playing. You can "role" play in D&D despite the rules. But that's not what the rules cater to.
  7. FOPOS is something that should never be mentioned. FOT isn't that bad. It doesn't claim to be Fallout 3 either. Neither FOT nor FOPOS were designed as true RPGs, nor sequels to Fallout 2.
  8. Sleep is a lie. I've seen Dark City.
  9. KOTOR was ridiculously easy for me. I still enjoyed it.
  10. Keen increases criticals. Keen is best used in conjunction with feats like Sniper Shot, and weapons that have a 19-20 crit range to begin with.
  11. Ack, that's 4 in a row for KittyCthulu <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've been agreeing a lot with both Hades and Volourn.
  12. Why, cost of living? I commute from San Marcos. 30min to an hour drive. Moving to Oceanside in Feb though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oceanslime? Not my favorite part of San Diego. I was being sarcastic about it being tough. San Diego is probably my favorite city in the country.
  13. Half Life 2 runs much better on ATI cards. Half Life 2 is also quite scalable. I know people running it just fine on their laptops with no stability or performance issues.
  14. D&D caters to party roles. I'm fine with that. I've played various editions of D&D. I'm actively playing in a D&D game these days despite not really liking the system. I'm not vehemently against D&D. I just think there are much better systems out there that few people seem to try because D&D is so popular. It bugs me that everyone is willing to accept an inferior game when superior games get little exposure. To boot, I'm not crazy about Wizards of the Coast, just like I wasn't crazy about TSR.
  15. Hades seems like he can begrudge people for trying to make a profit. Then again, very few things in this world are as frustrating as not having money. I hope he finds a good job. I once got bored and played Runescape for a week or so. It's a free MMORPG in Java that will run on any machine, has no real requirements to speak of, and is actually more fun than guildwars. However, the graphics are a joke.
  16. I like making table-top characters for good systems, such as the World of Darkness. There's a lot more to it than rolling attributes.
  17. As a DM/GM/ST I feel the need to break down rules and look for exploits. As such, I constantly look for loopholes players might use, etc. I've never played a Paladin, nor do I have any desire to do so. I like playing hero characters, but I think the Paladin class isn't balanced personally. Nothing is really balanced in D&D.
  18. Wow. I hadn't even considered that.
  19. Modders have looked over all the files on the DVD. There is no teaser for KOTOR:3. KOTOR:3 is not currently in development.
  20. Does no one else share my desire to see Redneck Rampage 2: Mullets and Moonshine?
  21. My last girlfriend criticized my apartment. So I knocked her flat.
  22. As far as I know the death count is 33,000 with an estimate that it might reach 60,000. That's still pretty horrid.
  23. Actually there are people with 1.0 boxes getting no bugs, and people with 1.6 boxes getting bugs. Some people have had success getting different discs. But I've noticed that every person who is getting major bugs and lockups seems to have the Thompson DVD drive, which is notouriously bad for reading various types of media. Did LA use a weird type of disc, or print the discs poorly?
  24. The new planets didn't reuse the same NPCs, quests and the like. You're saying they just threw new artwork on existing content from the first game. That's a flat out lie.
  25. Alot of MMORPG's provide free trials. You can get the client for free, and try the game out for 2 weeks, or a month for free. So saying that you're being forced to pay $50 and then pay a monthly fee isn't always true. And to boot, the monthly fee is reasonable because you constantly get new content as they update the servers, make new bug fixes, etc. The monthly fees also cover bandwidth.
