Jim Carrey - I am the walrus Hm, but imho he doesn't get the "goo goo ga joob"-things right Well, it's hard to like covers anyway if you like the original.

While the band's name sounds like a german Schlager singer, it's actually very good and swedish.

Both are reference designs*, so I'd take the cheaper one. The datasheet page says that it has a TV out as well, but look for some reviews to see whether that's true. (I think it is judging from the picture: that black round thing between the DVI exits). *the Asus one has Alone in the dark bundled, probably that's why the price is higher.

Speaking of bison: I'm badly hung over right now, thanks to three different vodkas we tried yesterday. On of them had a single "bison grass" in it, and it was actually the first vodka I liked the way it was. I was sorry for that today, spent four hours on the toilet hoping I wouldn't get sick again. On the bright side, I looked really cool for some time, like a zombie. Totally blood red eyes, face so pale you could see all the veins, and shadows around the eyes I couldn't have drawn better if I tried

If you say so... Mr. Mills: Indeed it is, or rather will be, when it's finished. Sometime in 2009, and it will be awesome, with all nukes and laserbeams

Oops, yeah, can't change laptop cards normally, unless you've got a "gamer" laptop anyway. Just a proof that cards for $ 30 do exist: click me

The performance should be exactly the same between 9800gt and 8800gt because nothing has changed as far as the "stats" are concerned. There are of course pre-overclocked versions in different flavours, but the base speed is identical.

Not soo strange a mobo imo, just quite old. It may compromise upgrades, if the max. supported processor is a Phenom 9600 (but I'm not sure of that, it's just the newest proc. I could find on it, can't find the official support list). The processor is ok (speed probably about a C2D e7200 or e8200).580 W is easily enough power from the PSU, if indeed it does deliver it and isn't a no name product. And man was I happy when my mobo had an integrated graphics when my graphics card decided to strike (even if in the end it turnded out that it wasn't the graphics card that was causing it, but the pci-e slot which died because of a north bridge failure...). The next mobo I'll buy will probably again have an integrated graphics card, especially if they get that HybridPower / PowerXPress working for desktops and all graphics cards. Oh, and Will the almighty: I'd ask them if they could insert the new version of the 6000+ processor, uses less power and could be a bit faster (The part number would be ADA6000DOBOX) Don't know whether you can change the setup and wheter the mobo is fine with this new processor. If the mobo can't take it even if you can change the setup (without additional cost, that is), ask for the 6000+ (89W version) instead, that's a version just as old as the normal 6000+ but draws a little less power again I follow that notion. However, some people prefer a rig they can just plug in and it works without having to do plugging and wiring instead just directly pressing the power button. I understand that too. -
Well, yes and no. There are (going to be?) some with the new G92b chip, and some are offering the new HybridPower feature, while some really are nothing but 8800 GT relabled... I suppose for SLI to work you'd need two completely identical cards (not in terms of brand, but in terms of chip etc.). Wait for someone else to answer, or use google, I'm not quite up to date with that. The 260 has become an ok deal now, I think, as it's become a whole lot cheaper since launch to counter ATI's offerings. Here's a review, the prices have changed since, so the conclusions have changed. Don't let my aversion towards SLI stop your plans Bokishi and Rosbjerg can tell you first hand what I only read and concluded blindly without ever having used it.

Apparently. They all put in a fast (or at least as multicore as possible) processor, and ridiculous things like a 20-in-1-cardreader, a no name mobo (possibly with no upgrading possibility and without BIOS updates), a no name PSU, no name RAM, and a dirt cheap graphics card just for the sake of having one in. Just the impression I get when reading what systems you come up with Other alternatives for pre-built systems seem to be gaming systems, and then they cost you thousands... or office systems, and then you can't play at all. -
anybody have any good trailers for upcoming movies

Patrick Mills: ... You're a game designer, you should know what art is. And Krav Maga is about as much art as using a sniper rifle. It's a combat system and nothing else. Jason Bourne: Yay, thanks for the info. I should have a look at the making-of, and the books too probably... Sawyer: Sounds good Looking forward to trying it out.

This is normal for every game. Also, KOTORII is an old game, you should be able to buy a very cheap graphics card (30$ or something like that) that can run the game. Zulk: Could the problem be related to crossfire? A 3870x2 alway runs in crossfire mode (unless you own one of these special ASUS cards where you can turn it off), so maybe there's a driver or another workaround that will work. Probably google for crossfire issues with KOTORII.

Apart of not liking dinosaurs in a DnD game I think its leg is damn clunky when compared to the high poly rest of it. Wow, thanks for the screens -
Firstly, while the 120$ premium for 100MHz is hefty, you get a newer generation chip that sucks less current. Still, it won't be nowhere near as much faster as the price suggests. Secondly, what do you do whith your PC? Because if it's only surfing and office or programming work, watching movies, listening to music etc., there's definitely no need for a quad core. If you're compiling a lot, converting/editing movies, rendering or something like that, the quad core will bring noticable improvements. Games are getting slightly better on this front, but even if the future brings a lot more games that can do something with four processors, who knows if 2.4 GHz will suffice by then? Well, I'm sure someone can be more concrete than I am, citing numbers or something. That would be helpful.

Why? What's the price of these two? Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to buy a single graphics card for the same money? Even if the fps you get with the single one are the same, it will play a lot better (google for micro stuttering), and you won't depend on driver compatibility with every single game you play like you do when using SLI. Again: Why? This chipset is two years old, and as far as I know, nVidia chipsets don't do all too well when compared to the Intel ones.

Depends on how you define "good"... It's even slower than the 9500GS you cited on the last page. It's a 20$ graphics card, so what do you expect?
