Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir Discussion
samm replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Computer and Console
It's also too hard for some people to make the camera's behaviour fit their needs / ideas of how a camera should work in a game. Hey, I like dinosaurs, just not in a DnD campaign/game -
Gorth's right. To illustrate, some pics of different power connectors: Molex connectors for IDE-Drives (for older HDs, CD-ROM etc.): [o o o o] SATA connector (for newer HDs, DVD burners etc.): ======

Fields of the Nephilim - Dawnrazor (whole album) (also, it's inspired by Morricone...)

Looks that way, yes

How the FSB and the RAM speed are connected depends on the chipset. You'd have to look for a review that covers whether and how it works exactly. For my motherboard, they're completely independent (while the HT-speed - owning an AMD board - is tied to other frequencies), but there are sure to be others where FSB and memory speed must fulfill certain criteria, like 1:1, 2:3, 1:2 or similar relations. Concerning the strange PCI-e numbers: These are the connectors of the PSU. 2x3 is a 6pin, 2x4 is an 8pin connector. The table shows the number of connectors available for each type and how many cards of the type in the title of the table are supported by the PSU.

Gemcraft. Damn it, I shouldn't ever have started that piece of time consuming addictive little thing...

Well actually, they are. At least in my campaign (Ghostwalk setting)... They make good enemies, being strong and intelligent, having natural access to psionics (depending on the rules you use) etc. would like to point out that the ghostwalk campaign produced one product. had some nice notions, (and some bad) and yuan-ti and orcus cults were key antagonists, but you & ghostwalk is proving our point... is not common. Alright, that's true, there's only the setting - but there's no need for more, because it serves as major inspiration for unexpected twists in the storyline (as does Heroes of Horror) and not as 1:1 base Still, the Y-T were one of the few races updated in the Expanded Psionics Handbook (which produced no further offspring either, unfortunate exception is that abomination called Complete Psionics), and they meant something to all the players in my group. Otoh, the may all have played BIS/Obs games... You see, I don't really have a point to defend here In my opinion, they are not overdone in the sense that they are not a usual sight in fantasy games, whereas elves, dwarves (however much attention they deserve), orcs, goblins, undead are much more frequent and, honestly, kind of boring in their "pure" fashion. Unless some twists are added to these races, they are the overdone friends and foes of fantasy games. I for one welcome their role (whatever it exactly will be) in SoZ.

The Maximus Formula does have one IDE connector, see here, for example, or a picture of it.

The Mountain Goats - No Children Oh the sarcasm!

What's the thing to like about Hey Jude? I really never quite got this. I mean, it's by far not as... as Yellow Submarine or Obladi Oblada, but neither lyrics nor music really offer much for me. Madrugada - The Deep End (whole Album) you realize that your path / ends this very instant / *guitar - tadada tada*
-
Nope, no Hey Jude. PS:T soundtrack however Madrugada - Norwegian Hammerworks Corp.
-
Hehe... Well I would certainly have counted Mother in, and probably Mind Games and God too. Although I like the lyrics of the latter two, that's the case for I'm losing you, too, and I like its "un-original" rock style better Concerning the beatles favs: Same here, I'm not sure poor McCartney does show up in my top ten at all, or if it's all Lennon and Harrison [edit]Ok, there's For No One and others I might have forgotten that would save his places in the top ten. Madrugada - Belladonna (the whole Industrial Silence Album actually. One of my old favourites )
-
Too many cheesy ballad type of songs, otoh it may be just me liking many of the Beatles' Lennon-songs better than his solo work Also, no Working Class Hero for example, nor I'm losing you? KMFDM - Moron
-
Meshugger: Yes, that's quite possible. I meant to imply that his usual Lennons were more decorated Runrig - An Sabhal Aig Neill

Wagner did a lot of this bombastic stuff. Me doesn't like this I prefer the detailed, more subtle tones in classical music, but as the previous posters said: Buy a compliation, or better yet: Go to your local classical CD store (assuming there is indeed such a thing where you live), take your time and listen. You'll begin to notice that it's not only the piece but also the interpretation that makes a huge difference.

First, the new Enermax (modu and pro series) are very good PSUs according to reviews. Corsair is new to the market (they only did RAM before afaik), but their current lineup is ok, too, but they're certainly not a better known brand in the PSU market than Enermax Secondly, 525W are enough for the system as it is, even if it may not be enough to upgrade it, and certainly isn't for two 4870s. If you install a 1kW PSU and don't play games, your system will use about 150W max. when idling, surfing the internet, using MS Office, and the 1kW supply isn't efficient at this 15% load (which is likely, max. efficiency usually is at 60% load+, about 85% effiency for current PSUs), so your PSU will suck say 200W of power for the 150W needed, while a lower rated PSU like the 525W will be much more efficent. It's your choice however.

Hey Xard, your avatar is so reconizable Pulp - Bad Cover Version Don't reconize them all. Who's the guy with the feather-thing in his hair?
-
That would be rather unusual. Normally it sucks in air from the case to blow it out on the back
-
There are also TV-cards, Lan cards, RAID controllers... Whatever used to be in PCI slots is slowly migrating to PCI-Express x1.
-
Looks alright. Crossfire could potentially be faster on a board with two true x16-PCI-Express slots (this one uses "only" 8 lanes per slot, even if they are x16 in length so graphics cards fit), but such boards are very expensive. Also I assume that just right now a faster C2D for the money of the C2Q would give you a better gaming experience, but this is likely to change in the future when games do take more advantage of multiple processing units.

It also invites for writing inefficient* or not easy to understand (for others) programs, so try to keep your discipline Efficiency is easier to improve after you got it working and programmed and documented it in an understandable fashion than the other way around, in my experience.

*g*That aside, there are different ways of being together with someone except marrying I had a very interesting day today. I've felt a little light headed but am very content now. I love my girlfriend so *dreams a little, then wanders off the message board for today*
