  1. Rubicon - This drenching night The band should have been bigger, certainly a lot of mainstream potential there, compare to e.g. Creed.
  2. Invited my girlfriend out for dinner and had something quite original and delicious, canard (? duck?) with capers in a balsamico sauce with rocket (?), cherry tomatoes, small leek (?) and young potatoes. (Damn, I don't trust my dictionnaire with these food words, they just sound too strange...) Afterwards we went out for a nice gothic party that surprised me with a lot of non-technoid music, which was great. Then there was a censored part of the night, which was great too, and now I'm checking the boards and trying to convince myself to get ready to get some hours of sleep. That was one good day
  3. Chamber, L'orchestre de chambre noir - Dead man's song singing voice sends shivers down my spine every time I hear him without fail.
  4. Yeah, great... not. You see, the problem isn't him. Sure, being honest is one thing. Telling the news to hurt others however is something quite different - otoh, don't let the moral of a random board visitor get in your way
  5. Your English is partially a bit hard to understand right now, but I agree with you as far as I can tell How should it improve things to cut the observer out? Someone would then have to redefine/newly explain everything in quantum mechanics. I always loved the philosphical implications of physics and the way it always brought up new questions not only about the stuff the theory dealt with but on life and the "workings of the universe" so to speak. Quote from that article: "It is even possible that the critical evidence already exists, in data from an American experiment in Illinois that has yet to be analysed fully." Do you know more about said experiment?
  6. The Sisters of Mercy - Logic
  7. Nine Inch Nails - Ringfinger
  8. All the more publicity for the game And if it's not fake, another example of how un-intelligent certain supporters of "intelligent design" are (nothing against the concept of intelligent design, which is fun, but against the people believing the creation of the world was 1:1 as told by the bible). Last I heard it was still a theory with a lot that supports it
  9. Thanks, Mote Carlo, now I don't have to write this Thiefs in BG2 were teh ubar class, because you could kill e.g. demogorgon with traps only... Sins: Claiming on the game box that choices influence the game world. Unwarned points of no return. Inconsistent game design, including art.
  10. Novembre - Child of twilight
  11. definitely.
  12. Haha, taks, Eurosnobs... Our knowledge indeed is anecdotal, because we only observed it on our own... Of course you can get more exclusive treatment, also for unneccessary stuff like cosmetic surgery, when paying on your own, why does that surprise you? But you're right, Mr. Moderator, I've lost track of how that connects to Palin. Or Edwards for that matter Well, I heard that whole Palin affair actually helped raise McCain's approval score (or whatever that's called in English). Does it only suggest that any kind publicity has a positive effect because it's raising awareness, or could it mean that the US voters actually think she'll be a good VP? Or is the higher approval not related to her but to something McCain did lately?
  13. Germany, austria, switzerland
  14. Today, it was launched officially. The consensus from different reviews is: a solid competitor for the 9600GSO (i.e. 8800GS) at the same price point, slightly slower at low resolutions, faster with higher resolutions and AA. Price/performance slightly lower than a 9600GT. Uses a less power in idle, more under load where it also gets quite hot. It almost matches the speed of ATI's previous performance generation 3850. Ideal for decoding HD videos (better VC-1 support than nVidias offerings). All in all: a decent mainstream solution.
  15. Who knows what would happen? Being stretched/compressed alongside with time certainly makes for an interesting experience. Also, who says that a bad thing != benficial for humans?
  16. Just because they're scientists, it doesn't make them more certain about what will happen. In fact, chances are especially scientists will tend to be divided, until the Large Hadron Collider is up and running...
  17. Conjure One - Sleep
  18. Solar Fake - Creep Just reminds me of how good the original really is. At least it's a cover that's in a completely different music genre, which does make it interesting.
  19. That sounds like a bug, and why do you use windows authentication?
  20. It's totally off topic, so sorry, but it fits pixie's comic so nicely... beware of rainbows in the yard!
  21. Fields of the Nephilim - Sumerland (live, from the Visionary Heads DVD) take me...
  22. That was not really what I needed to hear I'm sorry to be the one to tell you... ... Maybe Akella will do unexpectedly good and manage to develop a series of fun Disciples games.
  23. No. If you're using your computer professionally (and still have Vista installed for some reason ), you'd be wise to let it active.
  24. Same here. ( Even if education often leads to not wanting to have anything to do with the subject again in one's life, for example math, thanks to our incompetent teacher ). If however the goal would be to reduce sex, then preaching abstinence only is naturally the one way to get to that goal.
  25. And it looks damn good, too Disciples II Guardians of the Light The franchise might be ending soon (http://en.akella.com/News.aspx?id=587), but probably some similarly fun round based fantasy strategy games will crop up
