What you did today
You're right of course on the first two, however I'm not younger than your friend was when you started dating May it work out well this time and be fruitful and multiply! You're easily young enough, two of my aunts got pregnant and gave birth to healthy babies while being over fourty-five.

Building a Desktop
If you didn't use AMD, yes I agree a little waiting would be good to see if the Core i7 really does improveme performance for common applications, and if so, at what price (including Mobo and Ram, because these aren't going to be cheap for this CPU). Also, it may bring the prices of its predecessors and competitors down.

Jaesun: It's not that I wrote that song or anything Walsingham: Hm, it's all different and kind of less calm, even if I'm sure I know similar songs... They're just not on my mind. Elbow - Switching Off probably? Radiohead - Hunting Bears? Dead Can Dance - Severance? But it's all different. Hm... Kasabian - Ovary Stripes Descendants Of Caine - Oubliette Faith And The Muse - Shattered In Aspect

What you did today
Dating for three years? I'm living with my girlfriend for three years and still would consider it too early to marry However, my view on marriage before was such as that I'd never marry anyway because I couldn't see anything good coming from it. That my view has changed so far that I earnestly intend to marry and only just consider it too soon already surprises me... She really is the one I can and will marry, because this marriage isn't going to be cage or something just to make sure the relationship holds, but just a legally significant sign to the rest world for us belonging together. Anyway. Today I went to university and among other things attended to a programming exercise for os software that was simply ridiculous. We have two hours of time for this lesson, but there was that indian assistant who spoke an unintellegible English, telling us (probably) nothing more than that we had to do the exercise in pairs. He answered questions to please repeat the most incomprehensible utterings again with more incomprehensible utterings. Five minutes later we were dismissed. Now we have to gather clues in our books, the internet, linux manuals etc. Just fail, dear assistant, pure fail. He even gets paid for two hours. I hope he invests his paycheck in an English pronounciation course, because I don't doubt he writes much more eloquently and correct than I do, but that accent is horrible even to swiss ears used to horrible accents. Ah well...

Because internet persona are defined by nickname, avatar and writing. Changing name and avatar and if possible writing style changes the way the others on the board adress you. Much of the own behaviour is influenced by other's reactions, and being rid of the old stereotypes others impose upon you really can take weight off your shoulders. I completely understand this. Also, there's banning. When one nick is banned, you make another. Then there's trolling. If you want to rant and bully, you just create a new nick for it, so the blame doesn't fall on you when you're online with your main nick. And there are certainly more reasons for alts.

What you did today
and the mornings after "and more beer" too :/ I was cleaning the flat today, doing the laundry, i.e. being a houseman basically Began programming some stuff for monday, finished some work that I couldn't during the week, and then wanted to watch Pan's Labyrinth. But hell! The DVD was nowhere to be found, so I watched some TV, but "Kalifornia" and "The life of others" weren't what I was in mood for, so I watched a Blue Man Group concert instead. Interesting on the eye, easy on the ears, but what kind of "rock" concert is this, playing in a stadium in front of sitting people, telling them when to clap and yell? All in all, just mainstream crap.

computer case concept
No, the fan holes are poison to the style. The P182 looks cleaner and better for my current taste However, a modification in the style that Walsingham suggested would be great imo. And the site from Gorth's link is already known and well liked

God damn it
Our "normal" time begins on 26th of october, looking forward to it. Gaining the hour in autumn is always better than losing it in spring Poor southerners... The different dates and directions of time change also show how this invention causes much confusion and additional complexity in international relations.

Movies you have seen recently
I thought Eckhart did a very good job in Batman (as did almost all of the other actors). Yesterday, I've seen D-Tox at night because I couldn't convince myself to go to bed. I was surprised it had its share of good moments which I didn't expect in a Stallone-movie, despite logic errors etc. The thing with Stallone movies is, they're not cheap enough to have that trash-entertainment factor like some horror movies, or stuff starring Dolph Lundgren, so I mostly find them plain bad But this, I'd rate it at about 6.5 / 10. Clearly above average, with good ideas and some humor. Tonight, I'm going to watch Pan's Labyrinth - in fact, I'm just about to put in the DVD, so good night everyone

Gorgon: This has nothing to do with the "real" time, unlike leap years (and leap <smaller time unit> for that matter), but rather with an idea of increasing productivity by adjusting time to the light of day.

Rostere: what game are those screenshots from? This is Psychonauts, the Milkman level, which was partially frustrating unfortunately... Sorry for the quality in the first one, saved it as *.gif at first

Even on this board, people are just like sheep, once a direction has been accepted as good, it is then used as the own point of view. Teh awesome grafix in Stalker are now, or so the general consensus says, lacklustre. You are not going to convince anyone I'm afraid. I wish I could take Psychonauts Screenshots without an extra tool I always forget to activate before I play...

Walmart is shutting down its online-activation servers for DRM protected songs
I can't believe how aggressively people here don't take DRM as the issue it is. I think this is the same as the "frog-effect" happening with the ever more pervasive surveillance in more or less public places.
