Great interview. Maybe the best out of aany developers ever. It also explains probably why Bioware, and Obsidian get along so great (from what we know).
-
"I just dont get why BIOWARE was thinking when they gave this one to Obsidion. But I guess they wont make that mistake twice." R00fles! You do realize that BIO "gave" Obsidian NWN2 - another BIO game sequel? R00fles!

"KOTOR was developed as an XBox exclusive title." Simply not true. KOTOR was never gonna be an 'x-box exlusive'. It was always gonna be a PC/X-BOX dual platform title. Jade Empire, however, is a different story if it's actually released for PC eventually. Anyone whoe ven tries to comapre Diablo's dialogue to FF is just being silly. FF's dialogue is 100x better than "Me go smash bug for you" found in Diablo. True, actual choices that matter in FF dialogue ar enot common palce (but they do exist); but what dialogue ther eis and there's a lot is usually wellw ritten and some of the more emaningful dialogue in *any* game. FF1 and a few others not counting.

Future games you are seriously looking forward to.

"still don't see any annoucement," Eh. Atari did announce BG3. Officially. Just no developer officially announced yet. -
"That's about 222 different base effects just off my memory, and I'm not even that far into the game. Multiply that by 3 (yourself, touch, ranged), and then 5 (different casting triggers). Multiply that by the 10,000 different possibilities of power. That's 33,300,000 spell effects you can create. Did I mention that when creating a spell, potion, or magic item that you can mix spell effects? I don't know the max, but I've seen items with three effects. Take 33 million to the 5th power and see how many custom spells or items you can make with the magic system. Now compare that to a D&D magic system with something like 400 spells." WOW! That's just silly. I'd be more rude; but I think what you posted speaks for yourself. You count "yourself, touch, rnaged" as different versions of spells? R00fles! That's lame. Many D&D spells do that as well. Gonna count them as different spells too? Seriosuly, your various combination of spells is just silly padidng of stats that ends up being lame. And, D&D has way more than 400 spells. Way more. As in unlimited amount. And, variosu ways to cast them. Heck, it has multiple spells systems at that. I guess you gotta coutn that to. D&D magic wins. Game over.

"You're just a troll and now on my ignore list." So how many trolls now? How many on your ignore list? I'm surprised I'm not on it consideirng how many times you've accused me of trolling... yet. (w00t) Taks is NOT a troll. Period. Anyone (except me) who accuses him of being one is the one acting like a troll. Double Period.

"isnt that more the actor who played darth vader's fault? (david prowse or something) maybe james earl jones' words would have had more impact if prowse's movements were better coriographed to go with them." Well. It was the actual lines that bothered me; but I'd presume that consideirng how well they "worked" togetehr throughout the movie; that it was just a blip. The line itself leans itself to cheesiness and I just feel that the tone he used was off. Anyways, I gonan stop here. I like SW, and don't want to spend time bashing a 20+ year series I enjoyed. LOL "

"James Earl Jones is the Man." I like him too; but he isn't perfect and this is one of those times. "It really must be nostalgia that has clouded my judgment, as well as the high expectations for Episodes I, II, and the upcoming III that has made it hard for me to accept TPM or AotC. I would never even dreamed of comparing Jar-Jar to Chewbacca -- maybe the Ewoks, but Chewie?? Wookies kick ass, imho." Chewbacca was nothing more than a pet carpet. He pretty much added nothing to the originals eries. if there wa sone character that could be removed and/or replaced and the movie basically keeping the same note; it be him. "seriously? i thought it was a good scene. obviously it was not oscar award calibre, since none of the dialogue we saw in the star wars films were, but i thought it was done well within the setting of the movies." The scene itself was done well. Just not perfectly and nowhere as good as many claim it to be. <>
-
"only because of Jar-Jar lol" Meh. I agree. Hate that little booger. But, the ewoks beat him because there's so many and Chewbacca is just as bad. "Too bad the actual line is "no, I am your father". I have no idea were "Luke, I am your father" line comes from but it certainly not from the movie." It's been years. Either way, the line is cheesy and makes light of such a dramatic scenario. It's doubly worsen by the fake way Mr. Vader delivers the line. It feels so ungenuine.

That's a tough coice sinc eit's been awhile since I watched the originals let alone the newer ones. I'm not the biggest SW fan. <> IIRC, I think E1 and the scenes with Luke on his "home" planet took place had some of the better dialogue. E1, overall, I think would win even though it isn't without its cheesy moments (ie. Leia and Han Solo's interactions). Of cours,e this doens't mean I dislike the movies. I think they're all pretty good movies. Not the "best ever"; but solid nontheless.
-
Meh. People who bash E1&2 are the ones who are likely to overrate E4-6. I find the movies - all 5 of them - about the same quality wise. The difference is that those who watched those movies when they ar eyoung on now getting up there. Meh. I'm sorry, only people who think what Chewbacca said was good dialogue actually think that E4-E6 has great dialogue. And,s orry,"Luke, I am your father." is NOT good dialogue. R00fles!

this game went wrong terribly wrong...

If you finished the game; you liked it. Stop denying that fact and all will be better. Next. -
"Entertain me!" *flashes Darque...* ................................................ his wallet full of pennies.... P.S. Am I creeping you out yet?

He doesn't use the word all though. He says he loves their gameS. Subtle, and nitpicky; but meh. Good fun.

"They're probably not going to give us winter/arctic content in NWN2 anyway" I bet after watching the hekc that BIo got for not including a winter tileset in the original NWN; that obsidian will include one with NWN2. "Even better, Icewind Dale sits just north of the Neverwinter/Luskan area that NWN2 will deal with in its OC, so there could even be a world map connecting both campaigns!" Eh. IWD is far removed from NW. It may look close from a map's view; but i gaurantee it's farther thana few metres. Hundreds; if not thousands of miles to be exact. It's not an easy trip. And, NWN2 OC is supposedly 40-50 hours. so that's a lot of ground toc over unless they do kinda like Fo where the map is mostly empty as you travel to various places...That's if heye ven bother with an actual 'world map'.

"I love there games" They have made exactly one game. Kinda hard to love their gameS.

"Welcome to the forums" Um. I got nearly 5k posts, and been here since Day 1. I'm not exactly new... "Is anyone else getting tired of "Hi everyone! Look at me! New Member!" threads...or is it just me?" Just you (and probably other whiners too). If you don't like it; don't open the thread.

"after every damned D&D battle." Eh. You shouldn't need to rest after eveyr battle in D&D. if you feel the need to; either the game isn't balanced properly; or you are casting way too much. Wizards have to 'ration" their spells. Theya re not unlimited sources of magic. Well, they shouldn't be, atyways.

"Morrowind would be a better choice if you like non-linear stories." MW may be non linear; but in order for a game to have a non linear story; it needs to a have a story. FO is a real example of "non linear story". R00fles!

"as Bio seems to follow the same style for all Bio games." As did BIS/Obsidian, Troika, Sqauresoft, and others, and 99% of writers. It makes sense that the same style would be used by the same person. That's either a negative or a positive depending if you like that particular style.

"A trillian times better than Forgotten Realms games magic systems. You can be far more creative with it." Hilarious. Funny. But, not true. Outisde of POR2, the mdoern D&D games have have had 200+ spells and you can do a lot with it. The D&D magic system itself is even furtehr than that since you have basically unlimited spells inclduing your peasly flying.

"It has become an after thought this year." 'Afterthoughts' don't win RPG of the Year awards, don't get high scores, and aren't usually well liked by those who play it. R00fles!

"It's a world most people aren't inherently familiar with. " This doesn't really make sense. This was also true with the Ultimaes, FOS, and hosts of other games; but I had no problem "immersing" nyself into their worlds. MW's problem is that it's flat. The npcs just come off as fake. The quests aren't that special. TOEE's quests had more depth to them. MW's quests just seemed to eb there to give the player an exuse to explore 80 mapes that look the same. Meh. Glad you enjoyed. I'll say this though - MW is the best ES game. <_<
