heh, I found my favorite moment on my 4th time through! I RARELY used Atton other then to pilot the ship but in my 4th run through of game I used Atton and Handmaiden for the start of Nar Shadaar. I forget what exactly was said but they both have a Great interaction moment when you approached to give up your ship. I strongly advice anyone who hasnt seen this interaction to load up a saved game and pull the two of them out to see whats said. Its a great little bit of give and take between the two! Also HK-47s reply to "what is love" is priceless! I sure hope they paying the guy that writes HKs lines well as that character is just to funny and to enjoyable

I think part 2 had the better storyline, just part 1 ran alot smoother!!!! Reason I think 2 was better is it was more aggresive. It tried to tie each and every character into the storyline in some manner rather then rely on side quests for each character (not saying thats bad, I loved part 1 as well). What I mean is, from Handmaiden to Visas to Atton to Bao to Maldore to the droids, each character (other then Mira and Hanharr which were kotor1 style) played a important part in the storyline. In part 1, other then Bastila and Carth, the characters really didnt fit into the main storyline beyond being in the group. Each character had its seperate storyline that was awsome and well done. But finding Missions brother or saving Zalzabaars tribe, or even returning catwoman to the jedi way didnt have anything what so ever to do with Revan/Malak/the Star Forge. Also I think part 2 was the more mature story. It had twists and sub plots, multiple romance angles, revenge, betreyal, ect. Just over all I think it was written for a older audience then KotOR1 was. For myself, I appreciate small, but noticable, things like that.

I agree, but a lot of criticism was going to come along with this game, since it came behind one of the best Star Wars games ever. I think there shouldn't be any 'KotOR vs. TSL,' for an optimal gaming experience (and the best 60 hours you'll ever spend on a RPG, probably save for Xenogears ) I say pick up both titles if your funds permit it. You shall not be disappointed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hehe Exar and Hutt, yas both totally on the money here But really, if yas look at the negative posts you will only see 2 catagories. 1) Those that missed important messages, and 2) those that just bash the game! Of the first catagory there seems to be alot that just were not paying attention to what was said in game. Definately not Obsidians fault there and for the most part, once you reply and explain it those negatives become positive reviews once they understand. Of the second group, I have seriously only seen like 4 posters (who post a ton mind you but still they only 4 people) on these boards, that simply bash the game on every aspect. Its sad they need to make themselves feel important or grand by trying to tear down something made by someone else but they hardly being original by doing so. Just ignore their comments and posts (thats what I have decided to do to be honest). Again, not Obsidians fault! Woukd be nice if they moderated the boards and removed the people just out to bash for bashing sake but same can be said on any game board across the net honestly. In the end, KotOR1 and 2 are awsome games, neither is with out faults but both are the top end of the current RPG genre. No true fan of computer RPGs will be disappointed in purchasing either or both games The people that like and enjoy the game out number those that dont by such a huge margin its not even funny. The shear amount of people that like the games tell the true story better then any single one person could! Computer games and customers are a very love / hate relationship. When you have such a one sided situation (as you do in the KotOR series and those that like the games), no amount of bashing and story telling will ever overcome the real truth. The numbers really do say it all Sadly, no matter how good a game (or anything really) is, there will always be a minority (of a minority) that wish to tear down and destroy! They hide their motives behind false pretenses like balance and critisim. Only people they fooling are themselves tho. No one with any mental capacity at all are fooled by what they say or claim. At least we can be happy and take solice about that Its like the old saying "either the glass is half full or half empty", it all comes down to how a person wishs to veiw things in the world around them, from as minor as a computer game to as major as foriegn policy. How you approach a topic is half the battle and sets the tone for the validity of your arguement/opinion. There will be a part 3, and if sales stay at the level they are there will be a part 4,5,6 as well until the MARKET dictates other wise. ROFLMAO!, Bodrock, thats great! Altho getting mental picture of Visas, Mira, Handmaiden! Heh, who could blame them for that wanting! hehehehehe (joking of course).

Which character you playing? The remote? In that case you dont need to open the door, all 4 republic ships are in the 2 areas you can explore. If your playing the exile then door only closes for the encounter with the boss beast then reopens. If it remains closed then yes its a bug (not one I ever ran into tho).

Stuck On Nar Shaddaa PLEASE HELP!
Kalfear replied to xanderstone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Diferrent characters. Visqis is not the character that holo messages you. You need to build up more hate from exchange! Do the two merchant quest and side with the lady Get the droid and kill the droid vendor (make sure you buy what you want first tho). Pay the little fur ball in the hall outside the pazaak/bar 2000 credits to make sure exchange know you coming after them. Refuse to give up the ebon hawk There is more but cant think of them off hand, they fully listed on this forum tho, just look beyond the first page for answers -
something tells me he didnt bother exhausting all dialogue options with kreia and instead decided to just butcher her. <_< youd be surprised how many people have these complaints/questions about what happens when all the problem was is they rushed through the game and didnt actually listen to/read the dialogue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For sure Night! Ive noticed that alot! To get T3s video, it doesnt matter what side you go. (this is something I REALLY liked about game) Light or Dark side, just dont be a stupid evil and insult and threaten everyone. Thank T3 for his aide and repair his broken areas! And you will get the video Love when they make it so just because your evil doesnt mean you have to treat everyone like dirt! T3 does a boat load of things for the group on the Ebon Hawk (repairing ship, stealing the Missing Jedi Master List, Stealing the holocron of your trial) so treat him as a valued member of the group and you will get the holocron of Bastila/Carth every time

Well it was my understanding that by supporting you (the exile) she was in a sence destroying the force because your powers came from the echos of war rather then the traditional force sencitive process! It was kinda explained in the conversation options during your battle with Sion "when he was questioning why she would side with you and not him". Then there was the whole Sith Council meeting on Dant! Where the 2 Jedi and 1 Sith lord try to cut you off from your power again because your echo suggests the death of the force to them as well. Lastly the battle with Nihmus where you state "Kreia lied, there is no Jedi here for you to feed on" suggests the powers you are gaining are not the traditional force powers but more of a negative charge that drained Nihmus when ever he tried to feed off your energy. Whole thing was rather convoluted but thats how I managed to make sence of it all. By supporting you she saw the death of the force and a new stronger energy that was born through experience and conflict rather then just the arrogence of birthrights.

Aye I had both Handmaiden and Visas romantically involved with me as lightside or dark side! I found the Handmaiden more interesting a character when you played Darkside tho as you were turning her not only to embrace her force powers but also away from the lightside! Thing I didnt get was, it was clearly stated her oath was to never be trained as a jedi. When playing Dark side you had the option of refuseing to train her as a jedi but to follow a darker and more stronger path. Yet when she agrees to that you still get the betreyal cut screen??? All told tho, Visas still my favorite character from knights 2

Its interesting, when ever I got to the end I was always under the impression that she was going to kill herself at the heart of Malacor V and that act would create a new and more powerful sith enemy unless you stopped her. I guess its just how you read it. I like that other posters theory of Nihmus being linked to you and created through your acts of mass slaughter at Malachor V. That seems to make the most sence imo.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs ... kinda has spoilers ...
Kalfear replied to cackles's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
For the Pilot and Refugees (looking for transport off station) there is actually 2 different ways each to complete the quest, and yes you can finish Goto's yauth and go back to finish them so no clue why you say you cant. Far as fuel goes, hey it makes sence! Either you speak to The Hutt before crippling Goto and make arrangements for Telos to get fuel or you miss out. Why would the Hutt deal with you after you have already crippled Gotto? I mean whats in it for him? Makes perfect sence! Also you can go back to Telos and finish any Telos quest at any given time! There is absolutely 0 quests on Telos that you are NOT able to finish later on in game. As for returning the game, go for it. You would be returning the best RPG game of 2004 by a huge margin. If I was the store you purchased from id take your name down and refuse to sell to you ever again in the future because if you cant be happy with this game then you will never be happy with any game! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Id also like to point out that your wrong on every point there ... and hey theres someone else posting it ... Were you part of the team? With a failure rate of 100% you might be considered ... Next time engage brain before mouth, with 1000s of people reporting many different types of bugs I wouldnt argue with someone that said it blew up their box by using 100% cpu power and the dvd drive spinning top speed for 6 hrs ... All this rubbish about 'its your box version' 'its the dvd type' 'its this' 'its that' Its down to the person who said 'yes this game is ready for release' and the people that told them that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> errr WTH are you talking about???? where did I say it was your box? DvD? Ect ect ect? /totally and completely boogled at this reply. Seriously, wth are you talking about cause I cant see anything in my reply (the one you quoted) that even remotely matchs your rant here????? You asked about pilot quest, I replied (and there is TWO ways to complete it 1) speak to the hanger manager after Gotos yauht, 2) get him hired by the 3 aliens waiting on their capt whose in the bar getting drunk!). You asked about fuel quest, again I replied with the REAL answer to question. WTH are you smoking regarding the rest? Are dillussions a normal thing in your life???????? Side note: man this is stupidity at its grandest! You help a person and answer their questions and get flamed. you whine up a storm and create lies and false fiction about the game and every 12 year old posts things your a god! <utterly and completely amazed at the absolute proof in forced sterilization being displayed here by some> -
How do you finish the Redemption mission?
Kalfear replied to Masterdroid's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
<sighs> THE QUEST CAN BE COMPLETED! Myself and others have posted how to a few times over now (once more for good luck). 1) *this not confirmed but cant hurt* exit the Ebon Hawk with a lightsabre to get the reaction from the lady that meets you 1a) Speak to administer Adari about the Jedi and why folks hate them 2) speak to the militia guy in hallway and convince him to speak his mind (hes in favor of the jedi) to his freinds when asked about it 3) Rescue Sith Lord Vrook from Caves (you have to do enclave first to find the hints that Vrook is even in the caves) 4) Defend village from mercs (give the feel good speech to the militia while your at it, fix the turrets, heal the injured, activate the droids) 5) Speak to the woman who first met you at the landing pad on Dant (shes just outside the front entrance of Koontar (or how ever its spelt). Quest over and completed PS: Since posting this in multiple other threads I retried this and the quest DOES infact read as completed if you do this. -
The quest is finished when you speak to the Hutt. If you read what he says its "I will honor our agreement but I dont think Telos will be to ready to open negotiations with me". Thats when he gives you 2000 credits for your troubles! So the fuel shortage isnt over but you have done as much as you possibly can. Basically now its up to the government and the Hutt to solidify a deal! GoTo wont reward you because as he states in the sudience chamber, he feels the only real solution would have been for you to give yourself up to the sith so the sith had no reason to destroy the perugus factory chasing you to begin with. So in GoTo's eyes you can never claim the reward for the fuel shortage as there would not be one if you just gave up at the start! LOL, not saying I agree or like the end results (like everyone im sure I also went back to Telos the first time through to finish the Telos fuel quest and meet with confussion over it when they wouldnt speak to me about it. But the explanations and resolutions are all there if you read whats said by the parties involved.

Ricc, You need to pick and choose the spots for each character once you have developed as far as you can through conversations. Many of the situations make sence (IE: Atmosphereic thingies on dant for Bao or Mandalorian content for Bao/Handmaiden on Dunx). Others dont make as much sence but there is influence to be gained. You can either read the spoilers in the spoiler section that detail who and where or just try different combinations for those NPC encounters (I personally went through each character as spoilers take the fun outta things) you feel should be giveing influence. Its just a matter of getting the right character in the right situation:) Ignore the negative nanny, if you havent opened up all the conversation lines you are missing some really well done and interesting dialog and stories Its definately worth the effort to open all the conversation lines! Hope that helps!

Actually, they prove absolutely nothing, at least in regards to whether those people liked Halo (which has been out for some time) better than the sequel (which is a new release.) Just because more people are playing, say, Half-Life II than Half-Life right doesn't mean the sequel would win in a vote as to which is the superior game. Nor does the higher gross of The Phantom Menace mean more Star Wars fans prefer it over the original movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ivan is correct here! I have been playing SWG for the last year HOPING SOE would finally fix core design faults. So basically just been going through the motions. Doesnt make it a good game tho.

How do you finish the Redemption mission?

sure Its totally and completely outlined in a number of other threads on this board and xbox board -
When Kreia tells her story Nihlus and Sion are her apprentices who betray her, so that would suggest he was her pupil at one time

Took me a marathon session of slightly over 40 hours to complete first time through. I missed a few quests and didnt bother with pazaak or swoop racing. I only got Handmaiden to become a Jedi the first time through as well! Replay value is around 20 hours per game doing every quest and such as you already know what your walking into!

The fact that TSL is managing to stay in pace with KotOR1 is impressive! KotOR1 was a return to the fundamentals of RPGs (Long since forgotten over the last ten years). It was a excellent game with only a few negative issues. Obsidian should be proud that they have managed to keep that level of excellence with a sequel. Many sequels are let downs no matter what industry they are in (Video games, Movies, novels, ect). I personally love both games, each has their strengths and weaknesses but both are top notch products. Cant wait for KotOR3 now

Interesting theory Bataar! I like it Makes sence and also explains part of the storyline!
