Azzuro & Other Bugs
Kriber22 replied to feydriven's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I am currently on my 8th full playthrough of PoE, and I have seen Azzuro exactly three times, ever. Two of thosew were in the same playthrough. So I definitely think something's wrong somewhere. -
Weapon Sets

Least favourite part: The bugs. Favourite parts: Everything else. I love this game with a passion, I've spent more time on this than anything else in my Steam library. It's just that the constant, never-ending stream of new bugs is killing me. Every patch fixes three bugs while introducing two new ones, and I'm terrified that Obsidian is going to just say, "OK, enough, we're done supporting this" while it's still chock full of terrible fun-murdering bugs (shield defence bonus stacking on load comes to mind).

Update 3.02 Beta is Live
Kriber22 replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Well, the good news is there's only so many more patches that Obsidian will be releasing for this game, I'm sure. I'm not sure I'd call that "good news", exactly, but I get your meaning. -
Maneha party banter bug
Kriber22 posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
When I have Maneha plus Devil of Caroc and/or Durance in my active party Maneha's party banter keeps repeating over and over to the exclusion of all other banters. With Durance it's the one that goes "tell me the one about Magran again", and with Devil it's the one with "your hands remind me of an old lover". Once I kick her from the party other companions talk to each other again, but as long as she's there those two banters seem to "override" all others. -
I was hoping someone could answer this for me. When you start the White March part 2 (as in, leave Stalwart and rest once in another area and then return) will unfinished quests from part 1 disappear or become un-finishable? I'm thinking about stuff like the Thermal Pearl, dealing with the slavers in Russetwood and so on. Will the quest-givers still be around in Stalwart, and will they "remember" having given you the quests? Or do you need to wrap everything up before leaving?

Prisoners still escape?
Kriber22 replied to bmardiney's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I love the mechanic of being able to take people prisoner, but it irks me that you miss out on the loot they're wearing. You should be able to confiscate their stuff before tossing them in the slammer. -
Wow, that was quick! Awesome job, guys.

Hermit's Hat bonuses
Kriber22 posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
The Hermit's Hat now gives +2 to INT and immunity to Confusion in my fresh playthrough, but in an older save with another character (who already owned the helm) the bonuses also include +1 to Might. Which is the "correct" version? Is the new playthrough missing a +1 bonus or is it the old save that got an extra bonus as a "leftover" from the original version? -
I like the general idea of this system, but I wish it would kick in a lot sooner than level 9. By the time you get that far, one additional 1st-level spell per encounter is not all that useful.

That's a lot of great news in one post. Thanks for the hard work, everyone. Didn't Josh say something about the new "spell mastery"-mechanic being in this patch, though? I could have sworn I saw something about that just the other day.

Update #101: Update 2.02 is Live
Kriber22 replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Wait, what? They're broken? And I was so thrilled at having found a pair, I've never seen these before in my other playthroughs. What's wrong with them, do you remember? -
I absolutely agree with this one. The whole "kill x enemies"-mechanic isn't really well-suited to a party-based game. Micromanaging the team to ensure that the right character gets the kill is an incredible pain in the behind. I vastly prefer the riddle-solving mechanic of the Grey Sleeper and the location-based end stage of Stormcaller.
