I looked a little bit into FF... and the ability doesn't even stack resonant touch... so a SC FF looks like a bad Megaboss killer... i have no clue how to kill Huani O Whe with FF - was thinking about FF+Paladin, unkillable... but after looking into Abydons Challenge shields don't look like fun and i lost all motivation to even think about killing huani with him. Herald it is for me i think, summons for life - summons POE 1, summons POE 2! Summons everywhere!

with 30 resolve, lone wolf, 20 dex, 20 int, lvl 1 (PL1) no armor, i wasn't able to stack the curse, the duration was too short. with any "i want to use FF" build, you should never have to spend wounds to use FF (maybe there are offensive ways to use FF, with low resolve and stacking FF as high as possible but i really don't see how it would be worth it) If you build your character around it, FF heals you and you get a wound, its your spam button you use without thinking. And if the curse lasts too long? Don't spend the wound, the dmg you take is too high.

lvl 18 Multiclass my monk/paladin has 11 pen with normal fists (7+4 suffering) while FF has 14,3 (9 start +4 suffering +1,3 powerlvl) Started a devoted FF... 10 pen normal fists, 10 pen FF... doesn't stack As for dmg, my normal fists deal 29-39, FF deals 36-49 -both with 24 might And... i only get 10 dmg per FF use at the moment - that's +20 hp per FF use, quite nice xD

I am playing a FF/Paladin at the moment, she is a pure tank - easiest (but longest) solo ironman run of my life You want to get to the point where you get damaged 2 times (<3sec curse) and heal more than the 2 dmg ticks with one expire - Dawnstar blessing, Voidward, Forgetful Night or Glazed Chops helps quite a bit. If you stack the Curse... you will die, its simply not worth it, at all. High might should make the goal harder to achieve but its quite nice to max healing. High defenses are not necessary, with enough resolve and -hostile duration they can hit you with every damn thing in the book and you don't mind (well, form of the helpless beast is a bitch...) You can get the +2 Resolve Amulet Token of faith, start a human +1 with Berath Blessing +2 and +1 resolve background, get the +2 buff from Outcasts Respite, +1 permanent Outcasts Respite, Solitary Wanderer or Harmony +1, +18 starting=28, there is the prostitute for +2, thats 30 - with poverty cloak or Inspiration, 35

Tried potion of major recovery for a few fights just now, damn, thats one easy way to deal with everything (other than too much burst dmg and petrify, still thinking about those pesky adragans i have to face), i had a few close calls with Insect Plagues before, with the potion i can simply watch everything burn. Sir Dies A Lot is lvl 13 now, i did a few quests in WM1, but i fear the permaCC too much, so i will lvl as much as possible before going back - i don't want to play the summon game i did with my naked chanter. I thought they added a merchant at that spot (Anslog), i'd love some of the items - can someone tell me where i can find him? Bounties are fun for chanters! ok, if i had opened the fight with a figurine the run would have been over, potion of major recovery is epic

Sir Dies Alot 4 Died to one enemy, one DoT if i had simply dodged the spell... Sir Dies Alot 5 got reroled after testing Forbidden Fist for a bit, i want high Resolve in PoE2 Sir Dies Alot 6 died in Caed Nua because i got perme CCd (wrong pathing) Sir Dies Alot 7 Died to a lucky oneshot (Druid) Sir Dies Alot 8 is going strong! Lvl 9 just now. PS, killed Sly Cirdel for the lvl up, took 2 rests to kill the ranged enemies and the monk, took 20 mins to kill everyone else (thx to the Forest Troll blocking the enemies), after the lvl up i killed the next 2 bounties in in less then 10 mins combined...

Well... I am almost ready for my first POE2 Playthrough, i played a bit before but lvl 10 or something max I want to play it as a (mostly blind) ironman POTD solo run. Before that i intend to finish POE 1, i never killed the Archmages before, will use the Character (same race, stats and class (but with subclass)) in POE 2 I plan to invest my "PC playtime" the next few month (since i don't play most days) for my ultimate run(s) Sir Dies A Lot 1 was born about a week ago, he died within 10 mins to the Caravanleader (forced fight stopped), Sir Dies A Lot 2 was abandoned after killing the Caravan, to reroll with different stats... Sir Dies A Lot 3 died to an Ooze, a crit oneshot... that made me abandon the "3 con" i was testing Sir Dies A Lot 4 is going strong - entered Act 2 I didn't think he would make it as far with "4", it was quite painfull, i missplayed vs the wolves, tanking 3 instead of 1-2, i missplayed the crate quest, i missplayed vs the first Xaurip Priest (forgot he casts halt, was naked - hit and run with a bow) 2 endurance, 17 endurance and 8 endurance. Now... i don't think anything should happen now that i have 3 Figurines, at least in act 2
-
before lvl 9 i'd go with max might, max dex, max int, 15 per. 3 res. 3 con.... nothing beats kiting+summoning+white worms in act 2, its stupid Gernisc Slew the Beast, but Soon Faced Its Kin can kill the bounties, White Worms can kill Heritage Hill without spending hours to do it, the Spider/bear Cave with a planned White Worms area is almost too easy and too fast. I did it so many times i cant count it, i played a real TCS run vanilla game and a real blind ToI PoTD add on run (had to restart for every enemy that has stunlocks at least 1-2 times) After one naked Chanter PoTD run i know that the ultimate achievement is just "about knowledge", chanters have enough tools to do anything, there were no fights i had to get "lucky" with rolls, i just had to figure out how to win that one particular fight

The no Pause Mode without AI is really stupid, i just tried a 3 con helwalker/devoted (tcs everything active) and died to a young boar because i missed him 3 times with the mouse, no pause no AI is just... not a mode i would ever try.
-
If Devoted worked with Shifter... i'd have my character (with Chanter banned)... Shifter+Paladin looked like fun, but i only did a few quests in neketaka with it (and with items, but mostly used one spell before shifting, it was before items worked while shifting)
-
naked chanter in POE1 was easy after i knew what to do, vanilla game i could manage TCS naked chanter without problem after caed nua, the add ons i didnt play that much... this time i am waiting for all DLCs before i really invest time into game - burned out on POE1 before really finishing the add ons, i havent killed the Archmages yet. Started the game with TCS and... it wasn't fun to walk through the prologue, at least you can skip it now. Chanter+Shifter is quite fun - go in for the kill or summon for the win, Chanter+Rogue was my plan for a serious TCS try... maybe i will look into monk+chanter some more... so i can try the naked run with it. I still need to prepare for ship battles, i lost most chars to ship battles...

I played POE 1 on release day - i wanted to play the whole night, i started with a druid: they changed druid and the tooltips were wrong, i wanted to play with spiritshift but not without informations. I restarted as a wizard - lost my spellbook because of the weapon/reload bug, had to restart... started as a ranger, but had a bug with the animal name... had to restart again, after that i managed to get to raedrics hold... but got the endless area load bug. At that point i stopped playing and slept as normal - 6h down the drain. After that the "too easy" made me first stop my "hard" party run and the "POTD" party run, i played solo honor mode POTD most of the time (one naked chanter run...), i really wanted to play with other characters for the banter, but it was simply too easy and too many fights to accept easy fights. So, bugs make for a crappy start, "too easy" makes a boring game...

Damage invocations is logged, weapon damage is logged... thats it... Chants dont get logged (no Dragon Thrashed so the full log is useless past lvl 9 for chanters, before... only if you use white worms) Damage your summons deal isn't logged... so, if you start the game with phantom summon and come come soft winds, with 2 might - you will get maybe 0.1% of your damage dealt logged - with 20 might its more, if you take white worms and abuse it against some enemies act 2, your damage logged will be quite high... with 2 might come come deals 2 damage every tick, with 20 might it deals 3 damage every tick... compare that to something like 0/6 damage every attack and something like zero damage every invocation (white worms okay - the other one is useless against DR)

if you take out ToI... i finished the game with a naked solo chanter POTD without respeccing - it was fun, it was frustrating, however - there are very few fights that make it hard for a ToI run if you know all the tricks i finished my TCS run with chanter before respeccing was implemented i think i will respecc if i try my ultimate run, but i didn't play POE in a few month, i had hope they would fix a few more bugs (if i cant make dragon thrashed deal more damage with anything but might, i will go for a summoner. Ff the "no more wounds bug" for monk isn't fixed with the soulbound armor... i dont wanna use him for a run) outside of "ultimate" the game is easy enough that you dont need max healing multiplier etc etc... you can simply go the mechanics route, but ultimate... some fights are hard for my normal build

So... since i did act 1 like thousands of times (ToI sometimes i hate you) i always do the same... I start as a drifter, get stealth to 5, rest into mechanics, that way i can sneak past chaed nua... Sell allmost all my items in the prologue (2251 gold+, if i didnt have Gaunts Pledge i'd have to go to raedrics castle for some gold, but that's hard for some classes). After lvling to lvl 2 i make sure to have mechanics 3 and get the extra xp from the cilant lis traps. I rest once before going to Gilded Vale. Depending on my class and build i either free the cook on my way to gilded vale or after i hit lvl 3 - some classes (priest) can have a rather hard time with that fight. I rest once in gilded vale, safe and load - get my Rymguards Cloak. Take on all quests in Gilded Vale, solve the grain problem, kill aloth for his items, get the plate from the backer, kill durance for his items, get the healing+ amulet and the fine weapon in that area (killing one troll in that area), sneak the crate for the smith, looting the fine bow near the spiders (not aggroing them) and i make all areas accessible. Give the crate to the smith - i buy the figurine, clear the area with the cook and loot everything, go to the temple and reach the lower level for the exp (not fighting the shadows, not worth it). Go to anslögs compass and directly after that to madhmr bridge (that way i don't have to fight a xaurip skirmisher right after arriving) and do the looters quest (fight, so i get the anti confuse helmet, else i can die to an unlucky confuse in chaed nua). I go to raedrics castle (just the area, a bit quest exp)... should be enough for lvl 4 after going to chaed nua... i get the mechanics resting bonus in gilded vale (don't know if its necessary but i do get it) and sneak past chaed nua (if maerwald is a problem, the spiders can help sometimes). That's act 1 - every other fight i solve with more figurines. Xaurip skirmisher? Figurines or kiting. Ultimate? Knowledge, you can use items to solve perma CC encounters... or not fight them at all, you know where they are and prepare adequate. (no more time, more... maybe later)

I always wanted to try a solo paladin, but each and everytime i looked at Sacred Immolation - level 13... remembered how much i hate the time before lvl 9 with chanter (JEAHA, just hit lvl 9 in this ToI chanter run... lets just hope i don't get ****y or i need a new PC and that would be a shame right before Tyranny) Priest would be my class for PoE Arena - they have great lategame fights with the amount of buffs and AoE damage, its a shame that i don't have the time to try a bit... i really want the ultimate achievement before tyranny... it's not looking too good timewise, maybe now that i am lvl 9 i will put more time into the run...

White Worms is extremely reliable, i never had any problems with it O_o sure, its very situational (and useless if you don't plan on using it - at least most of the time), but if you plan a map around white worms, it can make you clear some maps very fast (at least if you dont plan on using per rest abilities in a party) disabling gibs is a must...

That fight... i remember it so well! It's one of those "oh ****" moments - that one would have been a sure end for any ToI solo run (and i tried blind ToI wm1 - dying to laegefuath first, CCing spirits 2nd, CC group shortly before the ambush 3rd) too bad i did the naked chanter run before loosing one ToI run to it - i found an easy way to deal with the fight, should work as long as you have figurines or a chanter with summons - and you prepare it xD The easiest way to get past this fight: let one weak dwarfen ghost in the area survive, lure him to the adra disc, get the adra disc, go to the place where whe enemies spawn, summon stuff to both sides and start the ambush... the enemies will focus your summons and you are free to run past the ambush. In a blind playthrough, thats one fight you are pretty sure to loose (ok, a priest doesn't need that much preparation), i really like it.

Pillars of Eternity 3.04 Beta Feedback Contest (Conversation Thread)
Reent replied to Fionavar's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Added a bit about some classes and the mechanics they use. thats what i added:
