  1. How can you get stuck in Dunnage if you can't reach Neketaka? The normal route (if you don't metagame) is Neketaka right after Port Maje, Solo characters have different strenght depending on the class and build, some need higher lvls (you can reach high lvls not doing much but running around), some can fight early, Chanters with an animal companion can fight early to late - just let the AC aggro while standing out of range and cast the summon while the AC lures the enemy to you. You need to know how your build fights, which items to get early (starting armor vs devil of caroc armor is no contest, if you don't get good items early you are crippling your character - only a few builds can fight without items, and only if you do it right) Neketaka has many easy to reach good items, Dunnage is my rush isle if i want Voidward - just to leave instantly after shopping (and accepting the bounty quest). My runs start this way: i look at the easiest to reach items that are good for my build and rush them, with every item the run gets easier.
  2. the moment enfeebled runs out you can apply it again, its a new +50%, so - if you could get enfeebled to just a few secs duration you can stack duration fast +50% every use...
  3. Rathun are fire Immune, so no use for Brand enemy. I didn't find many enemies that survived Gouging Strike, Rathun i did single pull and simply killed them one at a time (for the bounty) one at a time they are pathetic weak even with 3 red skulls and bad equipement, Red Hand burst) Torkar, i don't remember, its an easy enough encounter if you don't mind kiting - but sure, brand enemy would make it really easy. I had one character that used Brand Enemy, he was quite tanky (large shield), the 0,4 sec cast time was enough to get enemies to hit a few times with CC if i tried to use it on more than one enemy, thats my experience with it, thats why i don't want to open a fight with Gouging Strike - Brand enemy more than once - shadow veil, maybe its a wrong impression and shadow veil is inherently different from running to a corner, but with my mindstalker i just tried to get away fast - 2 hits from red hand into shadow veil or 1 attack from watershapers focus into shadow veil - and it worked perfectly, i never had problems getting overwhelmed because i was knocked down or anything. Never missed more damage (okay, thats a lie, i'd have loved more damage against the Megabosses and a few others, but they died either way) But sure, Paladin is never bad, i think the only characters that don't like Paladin as 2nd class would be "on getting killed" characters
  4. brilliant departure breaks from damage - so you can do quite some things with it, you can CC enemies while stealth (if you had charm/dominate spells you could have quite some fun) If you get invis from different sources (is it possible to get shadowing beyond from priests?) it would break on spellcast.
  5. But who needs Brand Enemy if he has Gouging strike? With Watershapers Focus you can get it on quite some enemies with one use of it. Assassin/Casters+1 Blunderbuss... i rather use Red Hand and Watershapers Focus with Assassin, 2 attacks before reloading is nice to burst. Never tried Blunderbusses, maybe Thunderous Report is something? Else i just don't see anything i want from Blunderbusses... I'd rather use ranger than paladin, however i play in a way that i don't fight straight up, i "assassinate" enemies and reset the fight - paladin isn't that usefull for it, driving flight, ghostheart, more ACC sounds like a better deal
  6. damn useless party! I knew why i play solo... (and why i love perma invis and plan on using a (almost) perma invis cipher in one run) And now its time to test community patch+balance patch Bellower - do you know how many buffs my playstyle got in those "patches?" Its ridiculous! Who needs any exploits if he can install a balance patch and get everything (i normally use) buffed harharhar
  7. why would the wizard cast invis if he has a party to defend him while he decimates his enemies in a heartbeat? Its not the wizards job to stay alive, its the wizards job to kill every enemy before the melees can engage!
  8. The sigil megaboss is... never a consideration for me, every single lvl 20 character of mine had no problem with him (okay, my assassin/psion had a little problem with the timing when to kill a sigil, since i did it too early, not lvl 20 and no consumables but a few potions) most of the time it was "go in, use perma dots on the sigils (my FF could have just used FF until one of them is dead - ignoring the 2 bodyguards and the invulnerability, the encounter is a joke to him), kill the 2 Bodyguards, attack the sigils while reading, kill the boss, profit" as long as you have high sustain the fight is a joke - the only thing that can go wrong is killing the boss before the sigils, and if you have enough armor thats no problem too. Arcane Dampener... many characters i play have very high resolve (35, my FFs, my chanters, my bloodmages... who needs high fort/reflex if you can shrug every CC off? no need for immunities either) thats no problem. (35 resolve is a gamechanger, form of the harmless beast is the only spell i found that had impact, everything else - NP) In Party play i'd never rely on BDD - so its nice to not get arcane dampener, but there are enough ways to do it. Never had to fear arcane dampener, more problem with "form of harmless beast", i need my armor to survive But if you play in a way where its a problem, sure - get the "oh ****" ability, or if you want a naked character - who needs anything if you can simply become invis every other spell? Max dex and nothing is gonna happen to you.
  9. Brilliant Departure is better in solo runs i'd say... is there an enemy you can steal it from? In Party... do you really need invis for SC mage?
  10. while i prefer not playing with SoF and perma brilliant - the reason is: if i play a full playthrough with it i can delete the game, i will never have fun in it again. Nothing compares to perma blade cascade in damage - but i really want to appreciate a bellower casting empowered eld nary every fight, or killing stuff slowly while tanking them - i would never be able to do that if i ran through the game on godmode (why i know that? because thats what happened to other good games for me) But i can appreciate a good cheese. And this can be used in a fun run (same as concelhaut's draining touch). And for you Raven - have fun with an even easier godmode, just don't leave the watershaper guild at the wrong time next run
  11. with community patch sure, without... i just don't see it - okay, FF for enfeebled, but it sounds like the wound/focus generation suffers.
  12. Every class is usable, in a party some are better than others, in solo some are better than others... I never play party so i can't say anything about it - in solo ciphers have some of the best tools in the game to get things done. Charming is amazing, borrowed instincts is amazing - Disintegration is the easiest way to defeat one of the megabosses - build right they are amazing. Build wrong they don't do anything, a Psion that gets hit all the time can't cast anything, an Ascendant that doesn't autto attack gets no focus (okay, with one shot abilities...)... I love ciphers, but i don't play them a lot, i love chanters and forbidden fist too much, and they don't pair well with ciphers (okay, Psion/Troubadour, but thats the wrong focus generation for me, for a casual run)
  13. Since you want a hate comment: how dare you use drugs on FFs? That’s the wrong thing, FFs are about self cursing! Drugs are for the other Order - delete your character! You are banished from the FFs!!!
  14. I knew i should have rolled a SC FF… +10 ACC wounds, +8 ACC (i think) because of better Fists (bigger difference without potion), +3 ACC because of Powerlevel… damn it! In some Megabossfights i swapped abilities to get better dmg output… +5 ACC +10 int instead of 10 con and +2,5 armor… i could have had so much more instead (and in big fights? You run too much to get the full armor anyway)… Now i have to install POE2 on my 13 inch Windows Tablet to roll my next run character… damn it
  15. stalking cloak+whispers=stunned stunned against might resistance=dazed… I don‘t think that works?
  16. My forbidden fist/paladin can interrupt both with ff timed right - too bad his acc is a Bit too low (8 acc for 100% hit i think…) now i need perfect timing to get a retry in case of a graze… managed to kill one in 40 mins of trying (1 kill in 4 merges or something like That?)- just to misjudge the Point when they start merging again… had hauani in Front of me again within a few secs - can‘t interrupt the newly merged Ooze. There should be quite some ways to kill Hauani, Assassin/Cypher is simply ridiculous easy. What about Boil the Flesh? Doesn‘t ist destroy the Enemy too? (Never used the ability and can‘t test it now)
  17. I tried a howler a long time ago, the idea of debuffing and getting soft wind to reliably hit (stacking +beneficial duration and int) together with ancient memories and Mercy would have been my kind of build... without debuffing soft wind can be used to fill the gaps, but isn't close to usefull. After reading the thread i had hope, i really wanted it to work (i really wanted to be wrong )... no such luck. Howler is still useless for my playstyle compared to every other class combination.
  18. As far as i know Carnage doesn't work with on hit - tried Body Blows just now and it doesn't apply on carnage... maybe other things will apply, but at least Body Blows doesn't
  19. While Summon damage isn't that high, its high enough - one use of summon weapons can shred enemy kith casters. Sure, it doesn't compare to zero recovery auto attacks of a melee character, or or or... but what do you expect??? its one ability (spell cast), you don't start buffing your summons with haste, invisibility and and and (well, i'd love to see a fully buffed ancient weapon with alacrity of motion, too bad you can't), for one spell use you get a good distraction that deals damage too, used correctly its a bit like a CC that deals damage too, reliably. Summoning in POE2... you don't invest heavily into summoning, no items (maybe one pet), simply 1-2 talents and "time". I think you are too far into Blade Cascade and breaking the game - if i have a choice to cast eld nary or ancient weapons with a bellower that is maxed out on buffs and everything, against kith, i will cast eld nary and wait until all the enemies are dead - nothing else needed. If i have a Herald as heal bot, with a large shield, low perception - i will cast ancient weapons and laugh while my party never is in danger of dying and still can kill the backline with this one character.
  20. I play solo no Rest runs only… i have a mindstalker that killed all megabosses and nemnok, he is fun to play in small fights - the moment you get disintegration you have far faster clear speed, just reset fights every 5-6 kills… because of skipping fights with shadowing beyond he is faster than my other runs. Forbidden fist/Paladin can straight up fight everything i found. Glazed chops, max might and resolve, Dawnstar blessing and ff heals for absurd amounts. Int is unnecessary, con too. Just FF in the face, Brand enemy to speed it up. Chanter/Bloodmage has enough sustain with chants (glazed chops+dawnstar blessing+mid-high might) to Tank stuff far beyond your Level, thats my current run. (start the fight with a large shield + modal until the soft targets are dead (concelhaut corrosive syphon), swap to willbreaker after. I play him with 30 resolve, 35 buffed so arcane dampener is no auto loose.
  21. no, i called the summoner that can't be touched the most boring run possible (but that would be my choice if i would do the ultimate), i can't think of a slower run (that's still able to do every fight), if you could do it with a single class chanter (i think Hauani O Whe would be too risky without endless chances with bloodmage) it would be fine, the dragon has enough AOE to kill stuff fast enough, weapons deal enough damage too, but if you don't get to that point without fighting (lvl 19 MC) its a real slow run summoning ogres again and again and again and again... not beeing able to do anything else
  22. If i want to do it earlier than that... assassin slippers stop the invisibility after summoning once, but i stay untargetable until i use something affecting the enemy... maybe AOE spells will still work on me, but you shouldn't die to something like that... so, after Port Maje you can simply get assassin slippers, rush strand and cheese everything... okay, that is the most boring way to win the game - BUT you win the game
