  1. I made it a bit further than this point and mine eventually bugged where I cannot progress either.

  3. I have a soft spot for Piranha Bytes. They made unique games with progression that I liked, though the stories tended to be ... to weird for me. Elex was a good janky game, and I agree Elex 2 was a mess. Liked Risen, never did Gothic. So I have hopes for this remake and hope it will get the same remake-acclaim that Resident Evil 4 did.

  4. The music was reused in the (lore) trailers. I found the unusual percussion combat music in Deadfire pretty refreshing. His PoE soundtracks were good overall, but that was pretty out there. Wonder how that was received. Usually the music in this type o' game is more your standard orchestral epic LOTR music fare (maybe mixed with a bit of Conan The Barbarian if the composer is REALLY going wild. ).

  7. MaxQuest is back! I wonder if there's an anti-cheese that can be made with Combusting Wounds. Used normally it's a pretty good spell, but used in a synergistic party it's abusive, for the same reason as Unbending - every new damage roll procs damage from the entire stack when the DoT gets a new stack. Maybe a max stack count (10?) - would not affect casual use and would still allow for some synergies, but not quite the "melting bullet sponges very rapidly" territory. Bleeding Cut may need a similar treatment, though in my mind it's only really an issue when paired with Scordeo's Edge (which is already being nerfed).

  9. Yeah, I'm only halfway through the second zone so it may change by the end of the journey, but at the moment I feel it's a good game that won't live particularly long in my mind. I mean, I suppose for me personally the ceiling was always going to be kind of low because of its modest ambitions - no matter how I build my character it'll always mostly be about clearing camps of enemies with very few non-combat exceptions. It doesn't even remotely attempt to be simulationist in terms of making a living, breathing gameworld, and that's fine - it just means it's not something I'd be looking to revisit in the future. The ideal Game Pass game, in a way.

  10. I had a-ok time with Avowed so far, but my impressions are quite opposite. It's a decent time waster, but I found none of it alive or interesting. I just entered third area, and I think I will be leaving it alone for a while - or at least intertwining it with something else on gamepass - I got quite bored and disengaged with it - and I think it will be better if I wait until smacking Xourips becomes appealing again.

  12. I think I am entering the final zone in Avowed and it has been a great ride. Eora has really come alive for me. I enjoyed the PoE games, but this is very different.

  13. I am experiencing the same bug. I was able to load a previous save, but I lost 4 hours. I am going to wait for a patch and put the game on hold. I hope they fix this issue soon. Been having a great time playing Avowed. Drak

  15. I haven't checked the rest of the thread but I'll do. The funny thing is I don't remember fixing the stuff when switching grimoire. That might be related to why it doesn't work What I did is making it a more balanced as a weapon and adding a big damages bonus that only works one time on the caster, and does not stay when switching grimoire. Maybe the weakened effect don't stay either. I don't remember but I'll tell you ASAP. Basically, I'm just warning you that my wording in the mod notes might be inacurate but I remember it was working quite ok. I will check later as for the rest.

  16. The idea wasn't to remove it from the game But to remove it from 4 grimoires that you can find in Deadfire. You can still learn it on level up. --- The regular behaviour of Concelhauts Draining Touch is: you summon that oneHanded weapon and on next succesful attack with it: inflict weapon corrode damage, Weakened for 20s, and heal yourself for 20% of damage dealt. And the weapon despawns; it is one-hit only. it deals around 60% more damage compared to a sabre; but that's ok since you need time to also cast the spell first, and it costs you a tier3 spell slot The issue was that: if you don't learn that spell but cast it from a grimoire, and switch to another grimoire (that doesn't have it), the summoned weapon will no longer despawn after the first succesfull hit (as in regular behaviour), but will last indefinitely until combat end meaning that it will deal more damage and provide more healing, than any other tier3 option that you have across all classes. Plus due to increased base damage it scales much better with damage bonuses (e.g. deathblows / devasting blow) than any other weapon. The current idea is to remove it from: Grimoire_Bandit Grimoire_Mercenary_Wizard Grimoire_Lich_Concelhaut Grimoire_Menzzago But unfortunately if you already got any of those grimoires, the change will not apply retro-actively. So the current workaround is kinda moot That's a complete rework of this spell/weapon. It's ok balance wise, so long as lifesteal cannot be prolonged indefinitely. But it losses the uniqueness of this spell (it's one-hit effect) Atm I neutral ------------------- I have also tried Elric's changes from BPM: Concelhaut Draining Touch : <Version 1.3> Acid Keyword was added by new version of Community Patch, but a minor glitch led me to re-add it myself. <Version 4.1.0> Does not last infinitely when switching Grimoire <Version 4.1.0> Base damages 24-32 -> 18-24, but adds a +50% +10%/PL damages modifiers for the attack. Note : Phantoms equipped with this weapon will have their damages reduced since they won't get the damage modifier. They will still be able to attack indefinitely with it. <Version 4.1.0> Initial Cast/Recovery time 3s/4s -> 3s/0s But unfortunately it still lasts indefinitely when switching grimoires. It aleviates a bit the usage with Essential Phantom. But phantom stuff is closer to small cheese.

  17. I'm playing Dark Souls 3 again right now, for unknown reasons. I just kinda booted it up again and now here I am, right in the middle of it. Back in the days I never played the DLCs either, because I felt so incredibly burned out from the genre. Though, not sure if I will play them this time... Really not in the mood for the snow stuff, tbh. After putting like a 100 hours into DS2 and then doing DS3 after that... it was just too much. Interestingly, I only had around 30 hours on Steam in the game... this might have been the fastest I ever beat a Souls-game. Even on my replay right now, all in all it does not feel *that* hard. Usually the bosses are slower and not as hectic / chaotic, which makes me a lot better at dodging them. In comparison, I also booted up Elden Ring again... over 80 hours in that one... Damn, the game looks so good. Every scene is a painting. But here it's exactly the inverse... this game is hard as hell. I die all the time, enemy attacks feel random and unpredictable. Also this huge game world where you had no pointers at all (at release- I saw the 2D map now shows NPCs on the bonfire locations).. it was very draining. Still.. because of how it looks like, I'm tempted to get back into it as well... at least for a while maybe.

  18. Personal Goal nr 4/2025 achieved February 26, 23:30 – I have finally decided, it is time to finish my Platinum Quest in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin on my PS4 and after 923 Deaths and 246 hours I have acquired the last two missing spell trophies. The NG2+ run to Drangleic Castle was pretty fast for my typical pace (took a little bit over 10 hours), but as always, I have started to stumble in the Iron Keep. I did few stupid mistakes, including two just before the last bonfire, while fighting the Black Phantom mob guarding it . I’ve been victorious in all bossfights, with the exception of three on first try. The worst fight for me was as expected the Old Iron King . Due to my silly wipes at Iron Keep, I started to feel tired, so I have either misclicked a button during last 10% of his HP, or I have misrolled in the small lava pool near the fog gate , but I really want to finish the game this night at all costs. After finishing him off on 5th try, the road to the Platinum was clear, and it took me just one last wipe at Mastodons, before reaching Chancellor Wellager and purchasing last three spells.
