I did miss the opportunity the video gave me to explain how it's pronounced in German and also how it came to be. Its supposed to sound like this: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/g2g1zvgb08qbxsipe7fes/boeroer_sound.mp3?rlkey=o6pd77oyefp13ji5qaxuy25fs&st=876k23xn&dl=1 But since that's close to impossible to pronounce for anybody who didn't grow up with or learned "Umlaute" such as ö (it's originally Börör - in the earlier days of the Internet umlauts were a no-no). I'm fine with whatever people come up with. It isn't a proper word anyway: It came to be during a LAN-Party (I believe we were playing Diablo II at the time) and I accidentally belched really loud when I actually wanted to shout some warning or smth. at somebody... oops. Somebody then tried to convert that sound into text in the game chat and wrote "what was that Börör?" or something along the lines. Everybody was laughing because when your read it out loud (in German) it sounded nothing like a/the belch at all. Somebody said it sounded more like the last name of some old dutch or buren dude. "Like 'Horst Börör' hahaha!". Anyway it then stuck as a nickname - but luckily not in real life (phew) but only for online/gaming use. Had that until I turned 16... Because your actual name is Ricel Dlaag!4 points

I just found Dark Souls 3 at 65% off, so I guess I am continuing my FromSoftware binge. While it downloads, one quick reply (a longer might yet come): Well, yes, I ran into that problem too, which is why Gwyn is one of the few bosses that I had to try more than twice in my original Dark Souls run. Insofar I guess he's harder than Nashandra or Aldia, both of which I killed on my first try, but not overly so, but my game experience with Dark Souls taught me relatively early that when staying away does not seem to work it is usually sticking close that makes things easier. Like the repeated Asylum Demon fights, where the winning strategy is to stick really close to its ass and only run out when it takes off or sits down. Or, well, at least it is when you're playing an accidental glass cannon build and the attacks with the explosion right on top of your character don't happen when you're close and behind the enemy. Although yeah, that probably depends a lot on one's build.2 points

I wasn't able to upgrade Aloth's scepter to the Legendary tier because I didn't have enough Adra Bans. And my lacking the ingredient had a lot to do with my moral value. I don't take stuff which I consider not belonging to me. Precisely speaking, I don't loot any kind of ruins nor raid tombs because those deeds are usually considered unethical, not to mention taking/stealing stuff from random barrels and crates. I don't even take stuff I found under rubble or debris because I don't know whether they are ownerless. The stuff which I'm fine to take without feeling guilty are those that once belonged to my fallen enemies and plants/minerals that grow in the wild, except for sentinel constructs I fought within a ruin because I think they still belong to the ruin even after defeated. But I had no problems looting stuff on all the floors below Caed Nua back in POE1 because I considered that those places were within my territory (Caed Nua). The one Adra Ban I got was from a sinister keep. After I shut down their sinister operation, all those fallen criminals and the entire keep, including the basement, were mine to loot. I was really happy because I hadn't been looting so many stuff for a long time in game. Other Adra Bans I saw were unfortunately at locations which I would feel guilty to loot. Speaking of the ethics of looting ruins, I believe I'm not alone when it comes to this kind of moral values according to the fact that both POE1 and POE2 have a bounty quest asking you to hunt down a person who is infamous for looting ruins. In view of this, it would be helpful if a potential POE3 introduces alternative ways for acquiring rare ingredients, such as through crafting. Thanks.1 point

Arkemyr's Mercurial Madness is one of the spell with the worst possible description. What it does : Attack vs Will that Apply status for 30s : every 6s, one of the following statuses is applied without further roll (each one has 1 chance out of 6) : - 6s Frenzied (Fit, Strong, +25% action speed, -10 deflection) with health bar hidden. The tooltip states 6s for these, but the Frenzy itself lasts for 6s and the other effects and child effect that will go away with it. - 6s Color Changed (nothing else) - 6s Confused - 6s Terrified - 6s Dominated - 6s Petrified What I do find interesting is that all of these statuses apply for 6s modifiable by INT while the 6s tick is obviously not changed. So with good INT, you could have effectively 2 of them applying at the same time. That said, it feels overall worse than Wall of Many Colors, except that the target can't flee.1 point

In theory, so am I, but in practice...well, if the writing consistently just doesn't click for me, it can become increasingly difficult to see the forest for the trees. Though in all fairness, almost all manga I've tried I've really struggled to stick with because I find the writing to not work for me, and the few exceptions are...generally quite silly. Is there any particular reason anime goes by seasons of the year? On the site I use to track what anime shows/movies I've seen, I actually setup a custom filter on my adblock that automatically blocks any announcements mentioning the seasons because I really don't care about new shows or when they're going to air. I would have enjoyed them more if only I had enjoyed them more.1 point

1. If you think WotEP in a Herald is cool then you can use it. From a mechanical standpoint I think it doesn't offer much for such a multiclass - unless you are building an offensive minded Steel Garrote/Skald with WotEP's Offensive Parry or something like that. Iirc Offensive Parry can grant phrases on crit for a Skald - and the cone attack can help to raise the chance for a crit against multiple enemies, too. 4. I assume your battle mage is supposed to deal damage mostly. In that case you'd seem to lack CC/debuffing/disabling options. A specialized wizard, cipher or druid could be nice. You already have a wizard so maybe you don't want that class a second time (although Assassin/Blood Mage would be an excellent pick for that role). A SC Druid could do CC but also add more healing on demand which might be helpful. Livegivers don't really have a big drawback and can help with anything besides healing. If Cipher sounds better I'd recommend a Psion or Beguiler. Their action economy is a lot better for the role of debuffer/controller/disabler than a regular Cipher's. Maybe multiclassed with Monk (since you don't have any and Monks provide bonus INT and accuracy and so on). Lingering Echoes + 10 INT leads to really impressive durations. 5. If your herald isn't the main tank: a main tank.1 point

That's a question I can't answer from top of my head It's quite complicated actually. Some of them are the original states, arranged to show a constellation on the southern hemisphere and the number of "edges/spikes" also means something and the large lonely star symbolizes the commonwealth Edit: kindly provided by google... edit2: The stars on the sky1 point

Pets are cute things the player (and Eder) like to have around them and you can see them as "free" bonus you can choose without penalties, a part you have to find them. Anyway, your complaints are true, so see them like that: Indeed Nebula, Blinky, Comet, Cosmo, Giftwrapper, Grog (!), Nemnok (!) and so on aren't actually pets; maybe all other pets aren't real domestic animal but some ethereal creature.1 point

It was a busy Monday night for me today, doing the citizenship ceremony at Brisbane City Hall. Lots of pomp, music, military brass, political elite and various other representatives. Music by the Royal Australian Navy, an Aboriginal Group and a sizeable girls choir... and I really just wanted to go home, chafing in my shirt! I really hate wearing shirts! I stuck with the program, the speeches, the ceremony, the pledges, the singing of a new national anthem (for me) and ended up getting my new citizenship certificate as a reward for two years of paperwork Now I can add Australian Citizen too on my CV The girl choir also gave a decent rendition of this old hit!1 point

Crafting or respawning more than once every century in a shop. Believe me, you still are lacking Adra Ban even if you pillage, steal and/or loot any damned location in the game. Adra Ban shortage is worst than bread shortage during french revolution. Really, one of the unique reason I thought to pop it via console. I hope some mod fixes it.1 point

Yeahhh About german accent: I'll bring you with me every friday morning with ECB German managers: you'll hear ONLY the german accent This instead put doubts on me: in italian Boeroer is Boeroer, simple, plain, easy. Now you say me it is "Bweerr" o something like that How does the owner spell it? I mean in german with full german accent Anyway now we want, or rather, demand, Elric and his french accent on our screens!1 point

Started watching this evening. Best points : 1) Now I've heard Boeroer's voice. 2) Now I know how Boeroer's name has to be pronounced. 3) Really appreciate the perspective in which you put the question : what are builds about ? This question is quite interesting because we're all putting vast hours of our lives in this power fantasy, but it is all about that ? Power ? If anything, Boeroer has treated PoE builds like an art. I mean, in the closest way you can make art from a bunch of stats and fun looking pieces of equipment. Just trying to be creative, consitent with a thematic, and somehow almost elegant. It might have been possible only for 3 reasons : - PoE is PvE CRPG. Sure, a PvP and/or hack'n slash would favor bid bad raw DPS. - PoE whole system is excellent, quite open and allows to do a whole bunch of stuff. It might have the best multiclassing system ever made, and each class is quite well-defined on its own. - Of course, Boeroer own personality. That said, I'm going to bed now. I'll continue watching soon.1 point

Colony Ship - I don't know how I slept on this one for so long, it is a very good RPG. I think it's because Age of Decadence never really won me over, despite a lot of attempts to play through it. Colony Ship is a lot more polished and has a great storyline so far.1 point

Hi, Critical hits with timed hostile effects (including afflictions but also DoT effects etc.) will cause +25% duration. Overpenetration does nothing for duration. If the spell has an attack roll (accuracy vs. defense) it can critically hit (there are some minor exceptions, e.g. Carnage which can never crit, only hit). CC spells with no damage still do an attack roll - so they can critically hit (+25% duration). If the spell has a PEN-value it can overpenetrate. Should be only spells that deal non-raw damage. Raw damage spells have no PEN value and thus cannot under- or overpenetrate. Many spells that have multiple effects and will have more than one attack roll: one for the damage, one for the affliction. In case of Venombloom (Druid spell) for example: AoE: 8-12 Raw | Accuracy vs. Deflection per 3.0 sec (first attack roll for damage - can crit, but no PEN bc. raw dmg) If successful: Weakened for 8.0 sec | Accuracy vs. Fortitude per 3.0 sec (second attack roll for weaken - can crit, but no PEN bc. no damage) Target: Frightened for 8.0 sec | Accuracy vs. Will (third attack roll for frighten - can crit, but no PEN bc. no damage) Overpenetration: no effect on duration. Crits: +25% duration - usually those abilities like Crippling Strike also do two separate attack rolls: one for the damage and if that at least grazes, a second one for the affliction component. You can see that in the description of the ability. It will say something like Target: Full Attack (that's the normal weapon attack you do, your weapon accuracy vs. enemies' deflection) If successful: Hobbled for 15.0 sec | Accuracy vs. Fortitude If the ability has PEN value it's for the damage part. Crippling Strike uses the PEN of your weapons and has an additional +2 PEN. THis value doesn't matter for the hobbling roll. Sometimes the affliction component does no attack roll but is an auto-hit (no graze, no crit). That is the case with Shadow Step's paralyze effect (Rogue's upgrade for Escape). But this is very rare. Usually it's two separate rolls: one for the damage and one for the affliction (or whatever additional effect a weapon ability might provide)1 point

I never engaged past the introductory battle with them in my relatively brief time playing FO4. There was no narrative reason for me to go follow them anywhere, and I proceeded to Diamond City with no hesitation. That's the last I ever saw of them. But yeah, the Boston setting in general may be another reason non-Americans might not engage with the game so well. I don't know anything about the place other than that the water may taste slightly of tea. I may not know much about the real Vegas but put up a few gigantic neon signs and it's pretty instant recognition. Washington has the White House and the obelisk, which is something I guess. The broader issue though is that if you design in-game locations that make sense as self-sustaining communities, it doesn't matter if they don't correspond to actual real-world locations. Is Shady Sands a real place? Hell if I know, but it's a place that makes sense and I don't question its existence in the game. If instead a location's entire raison d'etre is "hey it's this famous real world location, but ruined" with no thought put into it beyond that, then those locations better be notable and relevant to the potential audience.1 point

I mean since you know what effects Serafen gets with Wild Mind you can plan ahead to get the most out of it while ameliorating the downsides. + 5 PLs for 3 secs means having Frenzy and Sprint up and access to Mind Blades. Blades crits also proc Raw bleeds from Blood Frenzy BTW. Good idea to take Spell Pen passive. - PLs for 3 secs means time to attack with your weapon. Full Focus refill makes Greater Focus passive better. Focus empty just means time to attack. Tier 3 Affliction all upside, Tier 3 Inspiration usually just cancels an Affliction. Easy to remove. + 1 Empower point encourages being liberal with your Empower usage (refilling Rage from Blows maybe). Can’t lose one you don’t have. Invisibility a pain but not gamebreaking. The nuke encourages keeping Serafen away from team where he belongs to trigger Bloodied and Lone Wolf items. Give him Shock AR and Deltro’s Helm and hit him with Tekehu’s Bolts and you’re good. Good place to set up Echo. Nuke’s gravy. That wasn’t so hard.1 point

I made a brand new Druid Watcher and set him up with twin stones to test. At what point the ability becomes bugged. It wasn't long... On starting the game Twin Stones can be aimed and fired. I then made a save and quit completely out of the game. On load Twin Stones works but at a certain rotation will lock in a direction all of a sudden and cannot be fired afterwards. Unless I quit completely out of the game again loading that same save will have Twin Stones stuck. I then did some experiments with the Kitt save and yeah it does seems to immediately bug out on load and affect the ability in the new save. Activating other AoE abilities seems to increase the amount of lines. Interestingly when I went to capture footage I stumbled onto a way of getting it unstuck, at least temporarily, using Stag Horns. Looking through the output_log.txt of that session the previously mentioned error message appears until aiming Stag Horns then disappears completely. Most curious...1 point

Hello. Thanks for a wonderful game. I have had a great experience with it, both visually and mechanically. There are a few areas where I would much appreciate to see some improvements, namely (probably more to come, I'm not finished with the game at all ^^) : global search in recipes, instead of a per-category basis ability to create equipement sets (armor, trinket, weapons), on the same principle as mutation sets more mutation sets, 4 is definitely too few, and the ability to name them ability to remap keys for mutation set quickswap (T key) by default) : on an Azerty layout, you can't use 1/2/3/4 to swap to said set, you have to click, which usually takes longer than using the keyboard). You can remap shortcuts for the action bar, but not for the mutation quickswap ability to remap keys for previous/next zipline hook when deconstructing a building, you should always get the resources in your inventory, and only whatever doesn't fit there should fall on the floor. After all, we get back silk ropes in our inventory when removing a zipline, why not have a consistent behaviour there ? I'm sick and tired of having 10 to 20 resources getting scattered everywhere whenever I deconstruct something. Or at the very least, generalize the behaviour where everything gets packed in a convenient and unique little bag, idk when a building is destroyed by insects, it should leave a blueprint, so that you don't spend so much time remembering what went where, and placing everything back again Thanks for your attention, and again thanks for your work on this awesome survival piece of game !1 point

Hello Oskard, I'm sorry to hear you are having troubles saving the game. Would you be able to reproduce this by clicking on the save button, and then immediately send us copies of the output_log.txt file along with a save file. You can find instructions on where to find these files here. You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Once we have those, the QA and Programming teams will attempt to reproduce the issue so they can get a fix in for you. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.1 point
