  1. Following the first topic about "Fast Switching shield" and from the discovery @tackthumb find (in the comments of the second link, below) There is two weapons you can switch between them to create a "breaking loop", the first as buff for your party, and the second as most powerful CC effect for enemies with shield or meidum/heavy armor. Of course, some other weapons could be great for fast switching character, but these ones are certainly the most impressives. For AI script: Have weapon set 1 and weapon set 2 with the weapons or schield you want to switch between. Then, if you set up a script with whatever trigger (e.g.you have a Constitution affliction, set to NO) that simply switches between weapon sets all the time (gets executed per game loop - so several times per second). (from @Boeroer explanation in the first topic, below) * The first weapon is restricted to Chanter, it is Sasha'S Singing Scimitar with the enchantment Companion's Prelude. According to the Wiki description, Aura: 2% stacking Action Speed bonus for each held Chanter Phrase). The Action Speed bonus is working on current action for them in the aura. That mean, for each Scimitar switch, the bonus is applied and cut the action time for the party (the weapon animation like the reload move for Arbalest is not skipped however). So with a chanter who constantly switch between these weapon sets the party will benefit from chant + scimitar buff. Multiclassed with a rogue to riposte when attacked, with some armor like Blackened Plate Armor or Kāhako Nihi, etc, used to link an Ectopsychic Echo or Dimensional Shift, summoning many lives skellies, etc, this character locked is not unactive of course. * The second weapon can be used by anyone, and he dont need to be locked for the whole fight : Thundercrack Pistol with the enchantment Charged Field (Aura (excludes self): -10% Action Speed, -5 Melee Accuracy (if a shield, medium armor, or heavy armor is equipped). So however have one of these items is instantly "stunned" by an indefinitely extended recovery time (like for Strand of Favor, +10% recovery time each time the AI switche to the pistol give quickly some absurd numbers). It is also doable in solo run because once you have "charged" enemies for some IRL minutes, you are free to stop the AI script and take a regular weapon : enemies will stay charged for a long time. This is a nice way to try some stuffs on some bosses. To illustrate my point, Dorudugan was locked down after his first hit against my lvl13 party, for the test. Too bad none of my characters could hit him because their too low level, and after some minutes IRL of Fast Switching Weapon, my character with the Thundercrack Pistol did stop the AI script : Dorudugan was stopped for at less one hour IRL at this point. Of course, not everyone are concerned by the conditions, but be careful to not have a character in your party with one of them, or you should wait - with no way to know how many time. Berath and Eothas have an armor by the way, so technically a level 1 watcher with any Miss-to-graze item can kill them... Link mentionned on top of the topic :

  3. And you can't eat them with your corpse eater either. There was something so dumb about a Corpse Eater / Ranger eating their own pet that I had to try.

  4. 40k Inquisitor deciding to tie skills to weapons was a dumb idea. Also very boring weapons. Slogging my way through the campaign. Better check how much I paid for this to feel worse about this.

  5. I started working in journalism in the 1980s, and I'd just ike to point out that as far as things like plausible deniability and other legal manouvers are concerned, when you write that something may be happening, you basically have your backside covered. If something has a .000000000000001% probability, technically it means that it may be happening soon.

  6. I've been playing these legacy missions in Xcom 2, and they are pretty solid. It's basically a 7-mission mini-campaign and it tells Bradford's story after the aliens take over. It's a great way to scratch that tactical combat itch without committing to a full campaign.

  7. There are numerous claims, that UA is retrofitting all of their S-200s, with modern electronics, and that currently the only common thing it has with soviet S-200 is husk and explosives. And there are also rumours, that they can be launched from a specially jointly developed NATO-UA launcher, which can launch various ex-soviet and NATO standard missiles. Someone already talked about the name of this project, but, I can’t remember it. the first half is for me pretty plausible. More, than friendly fire. As A-50 airplane’s primary purpose was to scan sky for UA missiles and drones, and AD batteries. It is simply hard to believe, that they would allow their own AD, which they commanded, to shoot at themselves. the second half, it seems a little bit unrealistic at the moment? Unless someone knows, the exact name of this project, and can confirm/deny if it is real or not. Also, there have been first official talk about UA KIAs, since 2022. Zelenskyi has stated in interview, that number of UA KIAs is 31000, and number of RU KIAs is 180000. He did not specified number of WIAs nor MIAs on UA side. On the RU side, they are counting with 500000 WIA+MIA combined. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2024/02/25/7443637/

  9. Out of all the ways I've read on how to cheese Dorudugan, this one is arguably the most elegant.

  10. Yes - and if you get hit twice you will not have two stacks of Gaping Wound but instead you'll get an additonal "Major Injury". When hit a third time you will get another "Critical Injury". After that you will die instantly if you get hit again by the Sigil. So it's very dangerous. Animal Companions cannot have injuries, cannot die and cannot be destroyed - so there's no danger of permanent Bonded Grief.

  11. Lawrence of Arabia (1962) It's a classic film that has some very beautiful scenes. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Do I think a 20-something brit showing up and showing the Arabs how to really do desert warfare is ridiculous western savior bull****? Damn right. The film serves to mythologize Lawrence's legend rather than be historically accurate, while the man himself was remarkable he certainly did not single-handedly lead the Arabs to defeat the Turks on the Arabian front and (try to) hand them democracy against the will of the British and French empires. We can go on and on about "products of the time" and "dramatization" and all that noise, but at the end of the day I think dramatized war stories (ie real events interpreted into fiction) that tend to make heroes, saviors, and/or legends out of single men end up reducing the many people who fought and died to just side characters at best so I'm inherently biased against them. It is a very good movie though. Notably there are no lady characters at all in this movie. Women show up once to sing at the army once and otherwise are completely absent. That's to be expected from a 60s war movie but it does feel strange in 2024.

  13. A party of 5 chanters. Different flavours and types, if you so desire. At least one beckoner. The beckoner really should be an orlan so his or her skeletons match. Have all of them get the skeleton summoning spell and the skeleton summoning chant. Start a battle. Retreat to safety. Summon skeletons endlessly in safety and send in skeletal sorties to engage your enemies. Maybe send a few spirits, too. Roleplay that you are a death metal band, touring the Deadfire, and spreading musical mayhem wherever you go. Have your undead roadies clear the area of malcontents. A lot of people are probably scratching their heads right now, and that's fine. But trust me, this is cheesier than it sounds. Skeletons make for a surprisingly good boarding party, because most of the pirates have pistols and such. I discovered, quite by accident, that I could start boarding boats pretty much as soon as I left Port Maje. On PotD. After a few cautious attempts, I became the scourge of the seas, bringing death metal to the masses and sending them to suckle from Ondra's icy tit down in the briny depths.
