I finished Ironman Morro Bay on Saturday. It was a fantastic race and a beautiful course, and I took about 7 minutes off my best time for the distance. I finished in 5:43. The big difference was fueling well on the bike, so I was able to run well. I ran a 1:53 half, and I felt really good for most of it. The swim was cold and murky, but you got to stare at Morro Rock for most of it, so it was still fun. I struggled to get my hands to work and get out of the wetsuit, but I'm really glad I wore aquasocks because my feet were not numb. Once I got on the bike I really felt good, and we had a tailwind on the second half. I averaged 19.7 mph. So close to 20! It was a very good day, for sure.

Boss: Beelzebuzz: a Horse fly with a lot of attitude, take caution the bug is very tough and fast. Summoned with a Demon's Smoothie. New craftables! Tier 4 is here! Sliverfinned Axe; 3 silver cellulase, 1 roach leg, 2 earwig pincer, a devastating ax that cut through almost anything with ease. Molt Masher; 4 great gunk, 2 spicycrackers, 3 roach shells. Hammer that is tough enough to break bedbug molts among other things. Molted Shovel; 3 bb molt, 1 roach shell, 1 fly fluid. One of the strongest shovels, can dig up treasure in the coach. New Throwables! Flashbug bombs; 1 gunpowder, 3 firefly goo, 2 silverfish scales. Deals low explosion damage but stuns most bugs. (can only stun bugs once per combat.) Spicycracker; 3 gunpowder, 2 spicy shards, 2 silverfish scales. Attracts some attention but deals a small bit of explosion damage and creates a small puddle of spicey that inflicts burn on those who enter. Mintbreath grenade; 2 gunpowder 2 mint shards, 2 silverfish scales. Creates a small explosion that leaves a fresh smokescreen thats slows enemies attacks.

I've been thinking of this for a while but i've been wondering how new unusual ants could be introduced into the yard and got an idea. There could be an ant farm somewhere in the yard maybe fallen out of the house window that could bring non-native ants to the yard. This could include bulldog ants, army ants, or maybe even bullet ants. Really I just wanted to submit this idea to get the thought out.

I was also thinking of just one room such as the kitchen which could provide an entire freezer biome.

The ability to recycle would be really nice in this game. As we upgrade to newer weapons, I never need to go back to the old gear. I'd like to put things like this into a grinder machine to churn out raw resources.

The idea of running through one of those thin ant farms that have glass pane windows on both sides less than an inch apart, would be hella fun. I never had one of those as a kid, but when I was a kid, I used to get glass jars that people use for canning, and put a bunch of ants in it and let them create their tunnels so I could watch from the outside. You just unlocked a memory for me.

The best part is they don't have to do the entire house if that's too big of a project. They can keep it down to one room with shut doors keeping you from exploring the rest of the house. Maybe open some up when they expand the house to new rooms with new resources. And they don't even have to load the yard client side while the player is inside to save on processing, they can if they want to but keeping it separate seems like a better idea.

Either way it'll be a historic series. The Lakers will be the first team ever to come back from being down 3 games or the Nuggets will make our first ever Finals.

I've honestly never really thought about it. I feel like (since I work for all the factions typically and do all the bounties) that I often reach a point mid game where I've out leveled almost everything I do, and that even upscaling doesn't really keep up with it. You may have a similar experience depending on how much of the content you choose to do. For me, the difficulty curve of Deadfire (even with scaling and usually some god challenges as well) goes like this: 1) Port Maje: Brutally hard lol. Gorreci Street and Digsite are no joke two of the hardest areas in the game. 2) Then I hit Neketaka and do all the non combat xp quests and buy stuff and generally have a relatively easy time with most quests up until I hit the DLCs where suddenly the game becomes hard again. Maybe this would change if I didn't do all of the quests in the game but I tend to work for every faction and do every bounty and do all side quests that I can, so I end up outleveling content pretty quick, for better or worse. The DLCs even the playing field in a big way though. Those are always a big step up in challenge unless I'm playing a god tier OP build. YMMV depending on how much content you do is I guess the long and short of it. And the DLCs will always even the playing field regardless of whether you find the mid game (non DLC) content too easy even with scaling.

They really need to battle it out for the rights to the name. Single combat, iron dome style. May the best dev win.

Heh reminds me of the lawless days of the late 70's - early 80's. I used to sit in front of my boombox, the Record and Pause buttons already pushed, waiting for my favorite jams to come on the radio and slamming the Pause again to unpause and start recording, only the have the DJ talk over the last 30 seconds. Good times. I filled up multiple cases with my fire mix tapes: Maybe they should make on onlyfans, but for aspiring musicians.

I'm a big fan of that. Let them believe their own propaganda about how strong their military is. They'll run into the same trap that russia made itself when disallowing any criticism. Some day this will backfire hard.

A new idea in relation to the upgrade station for weapons and armor is a grindstone that instead of upgrading a weapon it could revert the weapon back to its base stats but refund the materials you have used up to the level you had it at. It would help with the grind a little so you don't have to make 5 different weapons each with a certain flavor.
