Little bit of “conspiracy” that Crimean Bridge destruction was part of the Prigozhin’s, Kadyrov’ and Surovikin’s plan, to usurp the power in Russia. By Russian investigative newspaper gulagu.net. Reports say, that the name Prigozhin is now banned to say in official Russian media. And it is most likely, that he will be sipping tea very close to open window in the near future2 points

It looks like, the renewed offensive around the Avdiivka this week, the most fortified defense line in Ukraine, had even worse outcome, than in Vuhledar. They have lost more iron and bodies in that direction. There are rumours in Russian sources, that RU lost since 24.2.22 three brigades worth of equipment and manpower at this single site of the front. On the other hand, they are much more successful N of Bakhmut. They finally captured Krasna Hora, due to coordinated retreat of AFU units to avoid encirclement.2 points

Another one in Canada. But I heard there were actually two in Canada besides the one in Alaska. Edit: Ok, it was only one in Canada. But there is a third now, shot down over lake Huron.1 point

Ok, I think this worked for me: https://gamerant.com/hogwarts-legacy-pc-stuttering-fix/ gpu shader cache was already on, but I did for some reason have hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling Off at some point (probably for another game, haha!), turned it on. In the Engine.ini, since I have 11GB v-ram instead of 8gb, I put the -r.Streaming.PoolSize- to 6144 (raise in increments of 1024 is the advice). Not sure that makes much difference over 5120 except totally maxing out vram, I might drop it back down. I'm back to the native/no-dlss settings I largely had before and while the outdoor/fps dips are about the same, the difference is the massive frame pacing stutter/lag at that FPS is mostly gone. GPU utilization went from 30% or so to 85%, if that means anything. So it now plays like I expect sub-60, even sub-40, to play. For those who think even one fps under 60 is totally unplayable it still won't be great but for an old fart like me, it's very tolerable vs. the resolution/settings I want. Edit: I have not tested yet whether DLSS still seems to cause constant CTD with FT for me, or not, with these changes.1 point

@xzar_monty here is another source. I have absolutely no way how to find out, if this is real or just psyops. We'll see in few weeks for sure...1 point

Ok. You didn't say this last part in your previous comment, so that changes things a bit, right? Anyway, I'm sure tensions were high in the group, and I can see how one of them might have overreacted to essentially anything. I don't think there's much of a cultural difference at work here, although I can't be sure, of course. I wasn't there. I think Tarja's sacking is a good example of both sides being true: she really deserved to be sacked, but the manner of the sacking really was unprofessional. A pity, really, that.1 point

Double Fine just released another documentary - this time about making of Psychonauts2 (the previos one was about Broken Age, which was very interesting considering how troubles this project ended up being).1 point

I'll see your new threads and raise you... ...also found a leather version of a wizard hat somewhere. I like the "transmog" concept in this game. Tiny gear inventory but everything you buy/pickup for even an instant becomes a skin you can apply to anything you actually wear. Or make the gear slot invisible. So I just sell EVERYTHING but what current best-stat I'm wearing. I've been occasonally buying stuff I like just for the skin, then immediately sell it again.1 point

My bad, I think I should not have used plural. This is all from connection to gulagu.net. Anyway the above statement by Prigozhin were not aired on official Russian media, here is the translation of his interview. Which probably should not be taken seriously.1 point

Belranga is easy period but yeah. That build looks really really broken but fun. WOTW not as spammable BPM (9 wounds) but if imagined pain procs that much could still be spammed a lot in battles with many enemies (like belranga). Getting that flail is a little out of the way but probably doable. Seems like this would work best on a shattered pillar though since WOTW doesn't proc wounds (besides the imagined pain). I haven't tried a shattered pillar, maybe the threshold is too low. Well HOW was indeed pretty easy with the Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak. I did remove the WOTW nerf though. Would be quite a bit harder requiring 9 wounds since the massive black oozes start merging on hurt and the lower ones immediately. But possibly doable. Also trashed my armor but that doesn't really matter. Don't heal fast enough to do this whole fight naked I don't think. Would be very easy with transcendent though. Ring of Finality's Claim + Summon Duplicates and HOW does a lot of self-damage. Could actually do it from stealth but would take a while. Then when health gets low, bam, disintegrate. But...I think transcendent has more trouble with Dorudugan than SC monk with HOW. Besides soul annihilation the cipher spells are mostly useless vs Dorudugan since he has high defenses and 50 resolve, so it is very hard to keep up borrowed defenses or psychovampiric shield. This game with BPM in general is much easier with tanky builds just punching things...because the "unbalanced" things like wall of draining and blood sacrifice were nerfed to hell, and fighters/barbarians massively buffed. Monk was slightly nerfed in certain abilities (WOTW, dichotomous soul cost more wounds) but also transcendent suffering reworked (or might be like this in vanilla, not sure) so at PL9 FF has +32 accuracy and +180% damage, and at PL10 it is like +37 / +195% damage, with penetration 16.8, 18.8 with tenacious, 20.8 with tenacious and crusted swordfish. And you can get PL10 pretty easily, just need two of nature's godlike, crusted swordfish, or power surge from stone of power. FF in particular seems way better than other monks since FF attack gets +50% damage from curse and +55% damage from monk power level, oh, and it heals you while generating wounds. But blood sacrifice was apparently unbalanced enough to need a 6 second -100% healing debuff and 3 second recovery... FF attack is just so so much better than mythic weapons, there is no weapon that even comes close to that outside of some weird interactions like scordeo + flail you mentioned, and hardly anything is immune to crushing ---edit just read all that about getting PL20 (or higher with bellower), sounds nuts. I couldn't get it over 10 but I didn't try a lot of those things. Imagine you'd need strand of favor to keep it that high though.1 point

Belaranga is easy with SC monk, due to Whispers of the Wind. Definitely the easiest megaboss for SC monks in my experience. As for weapons, as you note, fists are great, as is Tuotilo's Palm when you need the extra defense. But for a somewhat cheesier build you can dual wield Keeper of the Flame and Scordeo's Edge, while wearing the Stalking Cloak, Saint's War Armor and Boots of the Stone along with the ooze pet. There was a thread about this a few years ago. Definitely worth trying. Also, monk fists scale well beyond PL 10. If you get creative you can get them sky high; @Constentin Lévinereported getting a death godlike SC monk up to PL 20!1 point

WOTW was nerfed to cost 9 wounds in BPM. Not spammable now. Might remove that nerf since I've never played a SC monk. What weapons would you use? Fists seem about as good as anything, gets huge penetration, accuracy, and damage bonuses for SC and attack fast (maybe not in vanilla). For instance was messing around with ff / soul blade and I didn't realize Transcendent Suffering scales all the way to PL10. At least in BPM. It makes a SC monk have like +17 accuracy and +20% damage compared to MC. Better than mythic weapons. So transcendent does not look as good as it otherwise would, though I really like soul blades and soul annihilation has great synergy with FF. Focus builds up in only like 4 hits usually.1 point

Just wanted to say, 3 or 4 years later, this still works! Didn't need to start any particular quests to do this. Just sailed to the location, walked right in, killed the baddies to get to Mother Sharptooth and initiated conversation and ignored her a few times. Starting from 0 rep with Eder, just had to ignore Mother Sharptooth like 6-8 times (2 mins), then I got the "Burning Bridges" achievement (i.e. maximizing negative relationship with a companion).1 point

For second stage HOW monks use Ajamuut cloak and WotW, ez (as long as you use abilities for attack weapons will not degrade, monk can spam WotW fairly easy)1 point

Hey, Kvellen. Could you pls release the mod with Durance as sidekick? Have any chance for this? Durance + Eder is my favorite characters from POE1. I was very annoyed and dissapointed when I did not meet Durance in the quest The Bridge Ablaze. How i looking that? - as sidekick with 3 class/multiclass options: 1) Priest (Magran); 2) Priest (Magran) + Berserker (Furyshaper); 3-A) Priest (Magran) + Monk (Shattered Pillar); 3-B) Priest (Magran) + Fighter (Tactician); 3-C) Priest (Magran) + Fighter (Black Jaket); That looking like quite logical class/multiclass options, based on the origin and past of this character. P.S: Kana Rua as sidekick would also be interesting enough (have all in-game portraits for that), but having Maia Rua in the party and not having conversations between them would look a bit odd.1 point

there is an undeserved and discouraging smugness which oozes from those it's so easy observations, no? is nothing particular clever or applause worthy 'cause some joker read online guides or has played wotr so many times they is aware o' every possible game exploit. those wotr sages feign surprise that not everybody is doing the protective luck and fortune hex exploits before boss battles, and 'course you all know the bane of spirit ring may convert your entire party's spell and weapon damage to irresistible force damage, yes? is our frequent complaint the game is tuned for difficulty bass ackwards. unfair difficulty encounters is appropriate for those players who know every loophole and is aware o' the less than obvious exploits, but core doesn't change unfair encounters save reducing the stats o' foes. what that means is players on core maybe don't need use every exploit but chances are they do need a few, or a guide, or help from a board community where they risk being mocked for not realizing how very easy __________ was. wotr is a role-play game which allows you to build characters and parties howsoever you wish, but if you build wrong or make poor crusade choices or, decide to do different than optimal, then you risk facing considerable gaming frustration. punishing the casual player is an odd design choice from our pov, but the wotr fanbase isn't exact rebelling or even complaining. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Night Visitor (1989) This movie feels like a fever dream simulacrum of several 80's horror movies, something that seems a product of your memory amalgamating several films together. A satanic killer, that has a dayjob as a high school teacher, who exclusively murders prostitutes terrorizes a city/suburb with the help of his crazy and/or dumb brother. The only ones that can stop him are a high school couple and an alcoholic ex-cop. There's a single mom, an **** friend, the sexy neighbor, and many other tropes that have been in so many of these films. Night Visitor fails to do anything interesting with them. It certainly didn't help that the killers, the terrifying satanic killer and his kRaZy brother, are out of shape middle aged men that never exude anything threatening and would probably hurt themselves chasing after someone. But even if they were threatening, the film would be forgettable at best. Strongly do not recommend. Mulholland Drive (2001) I decided to watch this again because the above movie pissed me off and because talking with @Bartimaeus made me want to see it. A very good decision. It's a beautiful confusing mess, like walking through several dreams that somehow cohese just enough to see how they are connected. The sound and cinematography work in tamdem to reinforce this feeling, the low rumblings combine with handheld camera movement to make you feel just a bit uneasy even in ordinary scenes, like the voyeurism is more personal somehow. And hell no baby jesus god damn, Naomi Watts is incredible. The next Neil Breen film will be the great unifier. I can't remember any of the Indiana Jones movies. I've seen them, but it's been so long my memory fails to recall any particulars beyond the iconic scenes.0 points
