  2. It might or not. We'll see how they will handle them. The thing is, they will be use some longer range munition with them, which is still incompatible with SU-25s, which they are currently using. The biggest thing might really be maintaining No Fly Zone over most of the Ukraine, as the current most dangerous thing Russia has, according to many soldiers directly from battlefield, are their FAB glide bombs. PVO = Air defense in Czech or Slovak language, is really the biggest enemy for these F16s, but you have probably seen, that in the last two weeks, UA used dozens of newly acquired ATACMS to obliterate a big chunk of them all around Crimea and Donbas.
  3. Yes and this is normal criticism of her stance and thats fine But Im not talking about that, Im talking about how she was criticized around " how can a black person not agree with opinion x" as if all black people must have views based on an assumption of identity politics being the reason any of us should have an opinion I utterly reject that, for example I dont have an opinion on things because other white people have that same opinion. Thats often true but that has nothing to do with why I have that view

  5. Grave Expectations by Alice Bell (the former deputy editor of RockPaperShotgun). It is a mystery novel with light gore. So far (~120 pages in) so good. I've also purchased the second book, Displeasure Island. The MC being a medium with a ghost sidekick slightly reminds of the Blackwell series. Godot 3D Game Development. I have read the preface (see the quote) and decided to continue with this book later. I strongly suspect that the editor was MS Word Spellchecker. Godot 4 Game Development Projects. Completed the first project. Some parts of code were missing. Still, fine for £2.
  6. Her stand is rather weird on the face of it. She actually dissented against more of the original provisions than the Israeli judge did. While she is of course entitled to her views she has been in a minority- sometimes the lone dissenter- on nearly everything about the case. (At the time of the initial preliminary release it seemed like it might be some sort of fundamental stand against provisional measures or on limiting the right of self defence. Doesn't seem to be either though from her opinion yesterday since she now seems to be supporting the original measures)
  7. My issue is more how she gets criticized, in South Africa the normal "anti-colonialism\anti-Capitalism " crowd were outraged because " she is black, HOW can a black person not agree with opinion X " So they assume all black people must have a certain opinion on specific political or geopolitical events. She is not allowed to have a different opinion because its assumed her race defines her judgements Its incredibly condescending and patronizing
  8. ICJ rules against Israel and orders a stop to its Rafah operation. As always, a certain amount of grim humour to be had watching Hasbara scramble for a coherent response in real time. I particularly liked that apparently ICJ judges don't know or understand international law- unlike the random redditor/ twitter/ facebook user saying it, with their lifetime's worth of relevant experience. (All block 13-2 votes, with the Israeli and Ugandan judges dissenting. Perhaps most interesting there is the Ugandan judge's reasoning, since this time there is a formal dissenting opinion of her "firm belief that the provisional measures previously indicated and reaffirmed by the Court adequately address the current situation in the Gaza Strip, including Rafah". For anyone who has forgotten- which would be pretty shocking as it's surely a critical event in most peoples' lives- she actually voted against those measures almost entirely...)

  10. Maybe it's unnecessary for OP now, as for BG1 and 2, IMO there isn't a huge reason to even play 2 today. 2 was great because of a relatively compelling story and amazing amount of choices and consequences at the time, but today POE offers much better gameplay while maintaining the overall style; BG2's story, characters and freedom aren't really dated by now, but also no longer groundbreakingly good. You can certainly play it, you won't regret it, but IMO it's better if you're interested in its influence on the history of RPGs, otherwise there are much better choices.
  11. It... isn't. Specifically the headline's phrasing is inaccurate, and while it implies it's an urgent, new, and significant change of policy it, well, isn't. Not a new development? NYT Dec 2023 "Putin Quietly Signals He's Open to a Cease Fire in Ukraine". Or back even further than that: October 2022. And of course the negotiations that actually happened in Turkey. Inaccurate phrasing? Every previous statement has them being 'open to negotiations' or similar, see Peskov's quotes from both the articles above. That's a far cry from 'wanting' a 'ceasefire', all the urgency has been added by the editor into the title. Indeed, the body text of the Reuters article itself says much the same and actually says that Putin wants negotiations, at best interpretation and for a fairly broad definition of 'want'. Peskov's official statements on the matter are also specifically that Russia is open to negotiation. Note that the Reuters paraphrase of Peskov's response to the question they put to him- presumably deliberately- leaves out the 'open to negotiations' part of it, but it is included on other articles on their article. Compare: "Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in response to a request for comment, said the country did not want “eternal war.”" from Reuters with "Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Reuters Russia was open to talks and that Putin did not want "eternal war."" from the Newsweek article. Pretty obvious Reuters left the first bit out so they could keep the headline and get the hits.
  12. I'm not sure about 2), for example there are already tons of push/pull effects in Deadfire, I found the reason I never use them is purely that they don't do anything beneficial for me, moving enemies away just means I have to reposition. not because I can't find an ideal chance to push them in the direction I want. Also for things like barrels, the problem is other isometric CRPGs don't let players to move them at all, not necessarily because it's hard to aim in real time. In comparison Larian maps feel much more alive even outside of combat. But for being chaotic, that's a fair point. Limiting party size and making encounters of less but stronger enemies can help. I also noticed something else: PoE games have very dull sound effects and animation, while Larian makes every action comically impactful, both visual and audio. That's probably another advantage of TB to make the game attractive. Other than maybe Obsidian was just bad at it (character voices also have awful recording quality), it would be so messy if everyone is doing the Larian style animation and bombarding my ear at the same time.
  13. Hello, I have problem with "making waves" achievement. I have completed 6 quests from Huana faction: Trade secrets, Last sanctuary, From the wreckage, Shadow under Neketaka Fruitful alliance Taking out the Traders. The trophy didn't pop up... Is it some bug or what?
  14. If that song had been on Eurovision I might've actually watched it, and even voted.
  15. Only if they also clone Tom Cruise
  16. can be, but i doubt it. its not about F-16s, its about no flight zone above warzone and I doubt they will have enough and that capable to neutralize russian PVO and airforce
  17. F-16s are that big of a game changer ?
  18. It was only few days ago, when he was dismissing by Macron proposed olympic ceasefire, as ridiculous. So as I see it, if he asks for ceasefire now, it’s because he need to replenish some of the completely exhausted battalions, before UA gets the first F16s, which are allowed to hit targets in Russia, and he feels, he might lose conquered areas
  19. W40K - Gladius - Relics of War in a giveaway on GOG. To bad, it has billion of DLCs, which cost arm and leg https://www.gog.com/en/game/warhammer_40000_gladius_relics_of_war
  20. i dunno what "ACT" stands for here. but i think the two big problems is that 1) it would be too chaotic, and 2) a lot of the more interesting tactical plays really only work as an artifice of turn-based mode. as an example of the 2): you can shove enemies off cliffs because they're just patiently waiting for their turn. in RTwP they would be running towards you, the window of time to do a fatal shove is like a fraction of a second. another example (with a direct analogue to deadfire): blowing up barrels or creating surfaces near/on enemies. in deadfire, there are actually those essence batteries and barrels stuff that you can try to blow up, but they are mostly practically impossible to use in the intended manner. you have to basically tank an enemy right next to one of them, in such a way where your tanker is out of range but the enemy is not, because otherwise you have like 1 second to blow up the battery/barrel before the enemy gets out of range. in BG3, if an enemy is standing next to an explosive hazard, that enemy will politely wait for their turn while you explode it. as for the chaos in 1), as it stands a lot of people already struggle with RTwP. my honest take on this is that it's a skill issue - people aren't pausing nearly as aggressively as they "should." but ultimately the gamer is right because the gamer is the customer. if you add a bunch of environmental interactions and effects, you start to demand an awful lot from the player.
  21. Nah, I dont believe anything Putin says or we hear what he apparently says I will believe it when I see Russia doing it Putin can go public anytime and say " we pausing the war to talk peace "
