The TV and Streaming Thread: That's Entertainment!

Halo got good ratings (and is apparently doing very well on Netflix now) but not as good as they wanted. It was very expensive to make, had a... divisive critical reaction and was of course a 3rd party IP owned by and licensed from MS rather than being owned by Paramount. Rough first season, much improved second, and I thought it had a decent conclusion for a series that was clearly hoping for another season. I'd say it was 100% better than the Wheel of Time adaptation but 100% better than zero is still zero. -

I'm not sure anything above a tiny minority expect the deal to actually work and a vanishingly small one for all its points to be fulfilled, including almost everyone who wrote it (maybe not Trump, depends how much his delusion is apparent rather than real). The hope from the vast majority- and almost all the politicians- of the west is that it goes back to status quo ante. For the non politicians so they can stop feeling bad about it and for the politicians so they can stop being criticised about how the situation is now and how weak and hypocritical their response has been. -
Today I slashed my wrist. I was cutting custom tiles to make a table with my art. On the very last tile the cutting line hadn't been deep enough so the tile snapped badly and went straight for my wrist. Good thing the pharmacy is only a minute away, so they patched me up. Lesson to be learned from this: When the internet says "wear gloves, accidents happen", wear gloves, accidents happen. Of course when it comes down to it, it's a win win situation: I got an awesome table and I can impress the ladies with my bandages hand

You have to put Lover's Embrace in the main hand if you want to apply its neverending damage over time effect from stealth (True Love's Kiss, it only works from true stealth at the start of an encounter, not invisibility!). So if you sneak up to an enemy (maybe the boss or the strongest foe of the group) and do a Gouging Strike or Vanishing Strike for example, the main hand will hit first (with Lover's Embrace), it will apply the DoT but also break stealth. The second attack with Pukestabber will already be out of stealth. If you put Pukestabber into the main hand it will deliver the first strike, break stealth and then Lover's Embrace with the second strike will not apply the True Love's Kiss DoT. That's probably not what you want. But that's the only thing where it matters in which hand you put which dagger.

I found Paramount+ has a lot of old reruns, which is both good and bad. The Halo series was decently done, although I think it didn't get good ratings and lacked a proper resolution. Not sure if you've seen Killing Eve, but that was a really good series. There's also Yellowjackets, which may or may not be to everybody's taste. I didn't much care for the remake of The Stand. They also have everything Star Trek, of which I enjoyed Lower Decks, an amusing spoof of the genre. -

Gaza - War does not determine who is right - only who is left

I suspect most people, myself included, would agree to that. One problem with that though.... https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0jq63edv21o "They – and Netanyahu – have been implacably opposed to any role for the Palestinian Authority in Gaza, and any pathway to a Palestinian State. The deal Netanyahu has now agreed to outlines both, though with heavy caveats." Nothing new there, Netanyahu and his like minded members of the government have always been militantly opposed to even the idea of a Palestinian state. -
Well, I'm a fan of this game like everyone else, but there's one thing that shocks and bothers me, for example: level 3 items. I don't understand why they would add items or bugs like the snail to the game if we can't harvest their parts. They'll say that, of course, the snail can be harvested, yes and no, since the only thing you can't get from it is the pieces of its shell, and the tool can't be upgraded to level 3, since the game doesn't have the resources or bugs necessary to do so. I mean, it doesn't seem fair to me. If they're going to add level 3 items, they should add the resources and bugs necessary to obtain them. Also, another thing: there are a ton of bugs in the game, so there are literally only 5 bugs we can tame and ride. Also, it's already been shown that we'll only have 3 new future bugs to ride, which are the ladybug, the scorpion, and the mosquito... I mean, there's so much variety, and they only want to limit it to 5... I have this dream of being able to have as mounts a mantis, a ****roach, a butterfly, a wolf spider, the armadillo from Grounded 1, the bull from Grounded 1, etc., etc. I mean, I know that with the new bugs they want to add, they want to make their own nest so they can see what each one's habitat is like, but please, the game has a lot of potential and the map is very large, could you make, I don't know, a special or legendary nest that allows you to have all the tamed bugs, be able to save them, and retrieve them there? So please don't limit yourselves because I know there are many players who feel the same way as me about eliminating all the bugs in the game. Another thing, bring back the pet bugs from Grounded 1: the Weevil, the Aphid, and the Fly. Restore their taming so they have passives, since they really need them. I think to include them, they should allow all small critters to be tamed, and that these should only be a kind of shoulder companion, since the characters are already old and this allows it. And that each critter be special, with a single special passive so it can be used in combat, exploration, gathering, etc. Please reinstate level 3 building, crafting, and production, armor, weapons, consumables, furniture, food and water, etc. Because the truth is, if they are needed, it is urgent that they are already there, and if possible, please build a primitive elevator. If you've seen the movie Madagascar, literally at the beginning of the movie, they built an elevator with wood, leaves, and vines to shape it, and it works. So I think they should build an elevator for those who build their tree houses or very tall houses.

Gaza - War does not determine who is right - only who is left

Yes but active war is not sustainable for either side around its long-term outcomes and resource utilization Thats why every conflict between the 2 sides or the Arab states vs Israel over the last 70 years has ended with some sort of negotiations This Trump peace plan is no different but its not about a permanent solution for peace, thats much harder to achieve I still think the 2 state solution is the best overall idea? -

You clearly dont live in a country where violent protests are common Pepper spray, teargas, water cannons and rubber bullets are regularly used in many countries that grapple with these types of social unrest We use them in South Africa and we dont consider these methods examples of Nazi suppression But the US is a long way off from live ammunition becoming the norm for crowd control in protests

Hi! To speed up so you're able to squeeze more attacks into the duration of Vanishing Strike and to maximize the duration of Vanishing Strike's non-breakable invisibility (besides maxing DEX and INT) while looking appropriate for a dagger-type Assassin: Head: Blackblade's Hood (+10% action speed). Heaven's Cacophony (+2 INT) would be good, too - but imo its looks doesn't fit an Assassin at all. You could hide it though. Another alternative would be the Mask of the Grotto Deep - because Shadow Fang (raw DoT from stealth attack) works like True Love's Kiss from Lover's Embrace. Fair Favor can be used to maximize crit conversion for Gambit (I would focus on the duration of Vanishing Strike though). Armor: Cabalist's Gambeson (Arcane Extension, +10% beneficial effects duration), Devil of Caroc Breastplate (bonus Guile influences the crit conversion of Gambit) Neck: Strand of Favor (+10% beneficial effects duration, +1 INT) --> those two "+10% duration" effects work multiplicatively with each other, base duration and INT bonus! Back: Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak (bonus dmg, acc and stun from Vanishing Strike's invisibility and stealth, great for Gambit, too) Gloves: Aegor's Swift Touch (+5% action speed and +1 DEX), Gloves of the Dungeon Warden (bonus accuracy, Lockdown 1/rest can be nice against an enemy you put True Love's Kiss + Gouging Strike on from stealth), Firethrower's Gloves (+2 DEX), Hylea's Talons* Waist: Sash of Judgement (just some bonus dmg) Rings: Drunkard's Regret (only needed while resting with alcohol for Pukestabber to prevent hangovers, you can unequip after resting), Kuaru's Prize (+1 INT, +1 PER), Ring of Prosperity's Fortune (crit conversion for Gambit), Ring of Clenched Muscle* Boots: Rakhan Field Boots (teleport to+full attack + prone target 1/encounter, nice while invisible to spare time with running), Bounding Boots (exploitable as free jumping tool while stealthed/invisible: if you cancel the action mod air you will still land at the target spot but make no sound and roll no attack, great for "sneaking", stealth attacks, and pickpocket), Boots of Speed (it does matter how quickly you can reach subsequent enemies while you are invisible, stack with Fast Runner). Pet: Ooblit (+3 seconds on beneficial effects - it's just a flat 3sec addition to your overall duration, still good), Abraham (mitigate the recovery penalty from Gambeson), Epsilon (same), Cutthroat Cosmo (same), Trixie (+25% stride, see Boots of Speed, crit conversion), Milx (+1 INT, crit conversion for abilities), Levin (+1 INT, +10% stride), give Nalvi, Sheba , Trixie or Pes to Edér (if you have the Berath's Blessing unlocked for Edér to be able to have pets). --- *) the Frenzy from Lover's Embrace stacks with everything and it also procs off of all attack rolls, not only those that come from the dagger - for example attacks from Pukestabber but also spells you might cast (from an item or scroll or so). Because of that it can be beneficial to add additional hit rolls to your melee attacks. That can be done with Hylea's Talons (the DoT it provides will roll a separate attack which can trigger the Frenzy) and the Ring of Clenched Muscle (the affliction it can cause also rolls a separate attack which can trigger the Frenzy). Both of those will also proc Avenging Storm (from Heaven's Cacophony) which will in turn proc Frenzy.

I am having a similar issue. Well, more than similar. I am on the Xbox app version. When I load into the game, it will run perfectly for around 2 or 3 minutes. Then, I'll get around a 5 second long complete freeze up. After that, frame times are terrible and stuttering galore. Pretty much unplayable. Sure would be nice if the devs could address this and fix it. I won't play the game until then. Or, does anyone have a fix already? I will try to delete shader cache.

Gaza - War does not determine who is right - only who is left

The biggest problem, imho, is that two key players Hamas and Netanyahu have nothing to gain from peace. On the contrary, for both, their continued existence and holding on to power requires a perpetual state of war
