  2. The People Make Games channel has published Why We're Boycotting Xbox (and Maybe You Should Too). MS does own several developers whose work I am fond of, such as Obsidian, inXile, and Arkane, and, fortunately, all of them have been increasing the system requirements of their recent releases ("more graphics"), making boycotting them much easier. Some of the Arkane Lyon employees spoke out in support of boycotting their games, which takes quite a lot of courage even in France.
  3. YouTube recently recommended me and apparently about a million other people this 18 year old Christmas x Lovecraft song. Okay. Nice. Yeah, it's a lot better than random AI slop, I guess. Merry Christmas, everyone!
  4. Just in case, JK Rowling's favourite hobby is harassing children and donating to hate groups, thus avoiding supporting the Harry Potter franchise would be appreciated. https://www.them.us/story/jk-rowling-girlguiding-girl-guides-girl-scouts-trans-ban-consent Granted, the books were not the best examples of literature to begin with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1iaJWSwUZs
  5. In case it might help, GOG offline installers unpack everything through the system drive, so you'd need ~140GB of free space there for it to work, regardless of the selected installation drive. This is one of the main reasons why I avoid GOG for larger games. Why the developers stopped giving a f* about optimisation is another question.
  6. didn't nato expansion also break some old agreement but who care at this point war is a racket and 100 billion more just throw into it
  7. Random gamers are probably about as accurate as Syrsky or Gerasimov to be honest. Yes, but that was all privately owned/ state company stuff. And was done reciprocally; eg the rather orwellian named company 'Securing Energy For Europe' was previously Gazprom Germany, seized by Germany, and nationalised. No one has seized actual governmental money- bonds and the like- and no one will. Indeed, while talking big about it, the UK has confirmed today that they won't either, and the amount they'd be risking is something like 1/10th what Belgium would be. The problem with 1 & 2 is that they really cannot work that way. You cannot legally seize the money; you can just freeze it. If you do seize it it will have to be returned, and with penalties. If they could, they'd do it, and all the hawkish people like Merz and von der Leyen would be willing to write out actual guarantees. That they won't guarantee it speaks volumes: they're keen on it, but only so long as someone else takes all the risk. It's not like Belgium is 'pro Russian' in any other respect; they don't want to do it because they know they'd be the on the hook for a hundred+ billion- and the EU, Germany, the UK and the Baltics wouldn't. The only place likely to have runs on their banks would be Belgium, when they inevitably have to find something like 25% of their entire GDP (plus penalties) to pay Russia back.
  8. The Middle Earth games seem to sum up WBGames pretty well: the second game didn't perform as well as they wanted, and that was that. I'd guess the proximal reason for it is the abysmal performance of the DC live service game they had Rocksteady do which sank so badly I can't even remember its name offhand (Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League per wiki). You can kind of understand it; games now have ~the budget of a blockbuster movie, but take longer to make, for less return. Only takes one turkey- 200mn lost on it according to their filings- to make the whole thing look high risk low reward.
  9. the continent america not usa uk did decide import food from usa and canada make more sense than growing it on their miserable damp rock at one point the eu farmer welfare are almost as ridiculous as usa corporate welfare they lost the perspective long time ago

  11. A Ukrainian gamer is better than Sushko, I guess.
  12. Yeah, I'm an idiot. It occurred to me after I wrote that post. >.> First time I tried to use it, it kept telling me I was missing stuff to use it, so I assumed I needed something special like another item or whatever. Guess you just need the mini blocks in hotbar. But looking at the shapes available, it's pretty lacking/limited where in some cases I could be more creative with the tiny blocks - 7days has like 100's of shapes (and doesn't need a "crafting hammer" wielded). But 7days type of voxel is "anything in a voxel square fills the whole voxel", so two things can't occupy the same square/space, so it's limiting in that fashion. Not a big deal, I usually don't go too crazy/fancy with building. Seems like Enshrouded I may just make basic bases and then leave it alone. I am becoming mildly annoyed with the building UI interface and other minor things tho. It feels awkward and clunky for some stuff. That said, the exploration has been great so far. I'll probably focus on that until I've done the whole map, which seems pretty large.
  13. Yeah, it's pretty weird how the whole WB games stuff has gone down. They've published some amazing games that seem like they've done well critically and commercially, and yet it doesn't seem to be enough. I mean the Middle Earth series has the nemesis system, which should be a license to print money, and they seem to be burying it. Then Hogwarts Legacy nails the setting of one of the biggest IP's out there, and there is no follow through on it. *shrug*
  14. You neeed the crafting hammer, I believe, and the workbench.
  15. Every time I go to sleep in game, the crashes, I’ve started saving right before sleeping because I know it’s gonna crash. Please fix this.
  16. Yes and no. Russia also confiscated a lot of stuff from the west. Besides, RU invasion also is illegal and violated multiple agreements. That said, the main argument against it is not legality. IS that 1 - It is probably the unique thing dissuading RU from attacking more European countries. 2 - It is a huge leverage in peaceful negotiations, if RU is sent into negotiations, not continue sending the same ultimatum. 3 - Can create a "bank run" and others cna believe to be the next and withdraw the funds. Can you please give me your sources? Preferentially not sources claiming that Ukraine lost entire Azov batallion six times in 2022. And a time where UA will collapse and accept whatever they can get? __________________________ Anyway, war update from Sinitar gaming discord. A Ukrainian gamer.
  17. Got BG3 and figured out that GOG doesn't work (won't install games) on my cursed version on win 10. Kind of a pain in the ass to boot win11 whenever I want to play a game, but whatever...
  18. Probably not as much of a surprise as it could have been. It seems neither Netflix nor Paramount regard WB's games division as an asset, rather more as a liability, so it seems likely to be shut down or sold off if/ when WB is bought. They'd have got some cash from EGS to do it and most people who would pay decent money have it already.
  19. If AI could truly think for itself, wouldn’t it just develop its own biases and bull****? AI is a human creation and it will be controlled and influenced by people. It is not and will not be an all knowing, all-wise and fair god.
  20. How many Republicans does it take to change a lightbulb? None. Trump will just declare that the lightbulb has been replaced, and everyone's applauding in utter darkness.
  21. They started a few days ago with Hogwarts Legacy, which came as a bit of a surprise.
  22. I see no such option available (pic), and Alt just switches hotbars. If it's an option later, I'd guess one has to acquire the ability from something first. Either npc/quest and/or building something which opens up another option. That part is confusing because you build a cheap sleep pad and suddenly game/menu lets you build an actual bed with the resulting mattress as material requirement. Kinda makes one feel forced to craft everything to see if anything auto-opens up. Anyway, started over. Which led me to discover that if you don't create a new character, the game actually starts a new game with previous/last selected character with all backpack/hotbars retained for a head start. A handy feature for later to avoid early grind I guess, but not what I wanted so I made a new avatar. And built another tiny-stone wall. lol
  23. That will buy a lot of gold toilets. Really though, doubt there could be anything which epitomised the EU leadership more than that funding saga. Weeks of being told that the sky would fall in if Belgium didn't unilaterally seize Russian money, with no guarantees from the EU or anyone else against the consequences of it*. Inevitably leading to fricking Belgium being compared to Hungary and Slovakia and what should be an embarrassing climbdown by the leadership labelled as yet another great victory. Now we can start the next cycle: how the 20th round of sanctions will bring Russia to her knees and how it's really really necessary to allow the executive to levy and maintain sanctions without having to have unanimity to protect against the unfettered radicalism and selfishness of those perfidious Belgians. Sorry, Hungarians and Slovaks. So easy to confuse the three. *which of course never happened even for literal literal Nazi Germany because seizing state funds is very obviously capital I Illegal under multiple agreements. That neither von der Leyen's EU itself nor any of its equally shouty constituents would do so when invited illustrates that they also knew perfectly well that was the case, and it was all performative. Because they want an excuse for yet more unpopular 'loans' that they must by this time suspect is never ever going to get repaid. In this case they couldn't blame Orban so instead blame Belgium. Literally literally one of the protoEU's first three members, lest we forget.
  24. I canned my planned PC upgrade and got a fancy camera instead. What's the point in trying to keep up with all this. ram x 3 and other peripherals, storage, GPU about to follow suit wft.
  25. A very big point of the game is to play with other people, to not be alone, etc, and having no spliscreen defeats that purpose. I can’t play with anyone without splitscreen, and I know I am not the only one.
  26. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-welcomes-90-billion-euro-eu-loan-despite-lack-deal-russian-assets-2025-12-19/ Ukraine got their money, so they're still in the fight for a while (assuming all the fear mongering about the funding was true).
