  4. https://apnews.com/article/trump-national-guard-shooting-migration-17bc0655f4544cc702623574ed08eb62 "The president said on Truth Social that “most” foreign-born U.S. residents “are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels” as he blamed them for crime across the country that is predominantly committed by U.S. citizens."
  5. uk just tried everything to not tax the rich most have expected labour to be pathetic but not to this degree
  6. Tried watching a few episodes of the modern Quantum Leap show. It was ok, but had little of the charm of the original, at least in those early episodes. Not that I was a huge Quantum Leap fan but I like the original's first season or two. Netflix recently acquired (or reacquired) several of my fave k-romedies from 10-15 (more or less) years ago, trucks of doom, amnesia, life in danger and other old tropes and for a couple of the older ones, cheap cinematography/extra soapy feeling, included. Which is awesome because I can nostalgia rewatch/skim through them this winter. Sidenote: kdrama "huge forehead covering" male haircuts back then were hilarious, sometimes.
  7. Finished Broken Sword 5 (meh, Nostalgia bait). Replaying Pentiment -- Obsidian's game for the Christmas season you don't even realize is Obsidian's game for the Christmas season until you play it. Damn shame that the subforums here have like a handful of threads at best. Then again, Pentiment ain't a game for everyone. But as a wise dev once said: "A game for everyone is a game for no one." *
  8. The way and the reasoning how and why Trump implemented tariffs was always a risk It was also unprecedented even though it had some "logic " behind it Trump used the fact that the US has a trade deficit with most countries as a reason to justify these sweeping tariffs which was the first time I can recall any government implementing tariffs for that reason As you mentioned tariffs are typically about sectors or one type of goods like steel. And the reason the US has a trade deficit with most countries is because it has the strongest consumer driven economy in the world so its an organic outcome because of overall strength of the US economy. So Trump and his advisors on this decided " its not fair " and we must tariff these countries. Having a trade deficit with a country is not automatically a bad thing because you need to understand the overall reasons and sometimes its by design, for example if you import oil you would typically find you have a trade deficit as opposed to surplus with oil producing countries which would be expected And then if you going to mass tariff whole countries then you must have alternative markets for these goods of you will see price increases and inflation rising But for me the tariffs based on Trumps reasoning didnt make sense and now we seeing the negative outcome. You see he has reversed certain tariffs on goods
  9. Fuzzy Zoeller.
  10. couldn't even buy older cheaper hardware last checked everyone are forced to feed the monstrous appetite of nvidia
  11. My Sis has been dealing with chronic pain (CRPS) for a while now. Recently she had a spinal cord stimulator surgically implanted, and the results have been exceptional. As long as she keeps it charged up, she is nearly free of pain. It's had a most wonderful effect. Science rocks.
  12. I accidentally wandered into and completely solved Unorthodox Notion Reclusion before ever meeting Marisol’s contact at Reason’s pass. Once I got to the final room and turned off the defenses, her and a lady from Auntie’s choice rushed in and said a bunch of stuff I kind of understood (lol yeah i did the mission out of order, I should be lost). I went ahead and burned up only the Cataclysm research after talking with them and now the journal entry is stuck on “Enter Unorthodox Notion Reclusion at Winter’s Grasp”. I didn’t realize this until I had already gone through three other quests over about 3-4 hours so I REALLY don’t want to go back and reload.

  14. Every time I see "news" re: PC parts/prices "panics" etc, I pat my PC and compliment it, to encourage it keep running for, oh, say, 5 more years. It's not even the money, for me - it's becoming principle/disgruntlement. Also, my old tablet is still going like a champ, hope it works for another 8 years. I seriously use it more than the desktop for browsing/youtube etc. Makes me happy I'm no longer generally interested in any of the big name new titles. I'll also be keeping an eye on where that Steam machine goes. Could be a decent solution for ppl like me, in another generation or three. Wouldn't be my ideal solution but I'd probably like it a lot more than a PS/Xbox, the way things are going. Also - it's cloudy and cool and I'm just going to stay in bed all afternoon. Also also - current hubby back treatments did zip.
  15. Yes, this needs to be reworked. In turn based disengagement attacks happen often when closing the distance to the enemies, granting them free attacks when being engaged. So it does the opposite of what it's supposed to do.
  16. The feminism nonsense is being forced in all media now. It's tedious.
  17. 8 out of 10 for potential? What about what it is now if they stop updating it?
  18. Know exactly what you mean, 36 now with a kid. Basically only play games to entertain him these days.
  19. I'm stuck at a similar point. When I go back to Abbot, I've told him about a message from him to a conspirator of Seer Wiley, and it just leaves the conversation.
  20. Fair point. I forgot this game even came out!
  21. Just in case the title isn't clear enough my saves are not accessible for my Xbox profile for some reason. I am really curious how can a company fall so far that even a save games system is out of their reach. Why don't you just use something that works? Like Steam Cloud. I am trying, really hard, to play this game and I can not because my saves keep disappearing. Now, I know you are now owned by Microsoft, and therefore do not care about poor us people that buy your games but you do realize this is the last Obsidian I will ever buy not matter what, right? Even if my saves are fixed this very second. I will never forgive you for this, at my age (I ain't telling) gaming time is precious and if I have to spend time trying to access my save, sorry, got better things to do than to play your game. Bye bye and thanks for all the fish.
  22. I thought it was fixed with the last patch but have noticed although I can now carry food again, all my food will still disappear on using one food item to heal when I have tons in my inventory
  23. The tariffs are a major gamble because it is all but impossible to determine what the long-term impacts will be. The economy is too complex to predict that accurately. But it's clearly not a robust approach to improving the economy; that comes from factors like better education and sound investments, not from trying to wreck every other nation's economy. A better approach would have been to be selective in tariff application, only applying them for nascent industries that need time to mature. But now that they are in place, they are much more difficult to remove because other nations have applied counter-tariffs. I fear that, in the future, the tariffs will prove to be a major handicap for American competitiveness. Extracting illegal immigration from the economy is always going to be difficult, and is bound to have a negative impact on the economy. He would have been better served to focus on border security; letting current immigrants become assimilated and grow economically. Overall, his policies are inflationary and damaging to the economy. Any possible benefits of tariffs will take years to express themselves, and removing immigrants will continue to have a negative effect (except perhaps for government costs). In the meantime, the country is in for more pain over the next few years.
  24. Just to throw my hat in the ring. Saw the same issue today. I pick up everything. Had tons of food. Fought the rapitidon matriarch, and noticed I wasnt full health. Had no in combat health things, and no food.
  25. OK thanks for your answer it's appreciated.
  26. You can go into the settings (at least on PC) and turn off the option to show when companions have something to talk about. The only issue with that is that you won't know when someone has some optional dialogue. I just talk to all my companions regularly to make sure I'm not missing any dialogue.
  27. Min-maxing also isn't necessary on Path of the Damned. Often it's even detrimental to your overall performance. I personally - for a damage oriented Paladin who's also a good person and leader - would pick Kind Wayfarer and then: Abilities: - Lvl 1: Flames of Devotion - Lvl 3: Zealous Focus - Lvl 5: Sworn Enemy - Lvl 7: Inspiring Triumph - Lvl 9: Lay on Hands - Lvl 11: Healing Chain - Lvl 13: Sacred Immolation - Lvl 15: Behold the Martyr or Abjuration Talents: - Lvl 2: Weapon Focus Soldier (+6 accuracy with great swords) - Lvl 4: The Sword and the Shepherd - Lvl 6: Intense Flames - Lvl 8: Strange Mercy - Lvl 10: Scion of Flame - Lvl 12: Two Handed Style - Lvl 14: Savage Attack - Lvl 16: Apprentice's Sneak Attack or Runner's Wounding Shot That way you combine your offensive output and killing capabilities with defensive support and healing power "on the fly" (which is better than just pure offense, especitwheb it doesn't take any more action time). Also you can invest in your Might and profit twice: your damage output will go up - but also your healing power. You will need some healing for yourself anyway (like from Lay on Hands), at least from lvl. 13 on, because Sacred Immolation, while doing high AoE damage to foes, also damages you quite a lot. You want to counter that with healing from time to time. Then you'd have a likeable, benevolent main character who can dish out some serious damage and do some buffing and healing in the process, too. All while swinging a huge flaming great sword. Plate looks great. It will make you slow, but also improve your sturdyness a lot, especially on the early game. You could also use something lighter such as the "Sun-Touched Mail" - imo it's one of the best looking armors in the game. And it comes with 3 casts of Sunbeam per rest which your fire-themed Paladin could also use to nice effect (kills with it will proc Strange Mercy and Inspiring Triumph). You'd have to enchant the mail to better DR quality yourself though, it doesn't come with exceptional quality.
  28. https://www.economist.com/interactive/trump-approval-tracker Economist has just released its approval ratings for Trump and its not good, its because of the real and perceived failures around the economy and inflation. And as we all know these were the 2 main voting issues for most Americans who voted for Trump I have also personally noticed a general anti-Trump sentiment on places like Codex which use to be mostly supportive of him in the dedicated thread. This forum is one of the few places where people still generally respect Trump and will sometimes give him the benefit of doubt My view on him hasnt really changed, he has had hits and misses but his misses are clearly undermining any good he has done. Of course it also doesnt matter what I think because Americans will decide his future and legacy when they vote. But he really needs to reverse things like tariffs which have negatively impacted the economy and inflation and the strict migration laws are also impacting domestic productivity in several states " Once the honeymoon is over, presidents tend to lose popularity quickly. But no recent president has fallen so low so quickly as Donald Trump. At the start of his second term public opinion was nearly evenly divided between those who approved of the president and those who did not. Things have since changed—his net approval is now lower than at any point in his first term. Rather than rebounding after the end of America’s longest ever government shutdown, Mr Trump’s popularity has continued to sink. Americans are particularly dissatisfied with Mr Trump’s handling of inflation and the economy, two issues which were key to his re-election last November. Young and non-white voters, many of whom abandoned Democrats because of concerns about the cost of living, are now souring on Mr Trump faster than other groups. It was those voters who fuelled Democratic victories in governor elections in Virginia and New Jersey—an ominous sign for Republicans before next year’s midterm elections. "
