LadyCrimson Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Peter Tork Monkees Singer Dead at 77. Nooo! ...not as affecting to me as Davy Jones, but still. My TV-watching childhood. *sniffle* 2 “Things are as they are. Gfted1 Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 "Hey hey were the Monkees!" rolls through my head and makes me smile every time. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Amentep Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 The Monkees was the only show that my mom forbade us to watch, albeit temporarily (they showed it twice a day, five days a week at one point in local syndication, meaning that with 58 episodes, every 5 weeks you started it over and we watched it every single day twice a day - my mom just got tired of seeing the same episodes over and over. She relented a few years later because it is a fun show and she'd recovered from being forced to watch the 58 episodes umpteen times). I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Raithe Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Comedian Brody Stevens has died, early reporting is an apparent suicide that has yet to be confirmed. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Amentep Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 RIP film director Stanley Donen. Directed, amid others, Singin' in the Rain, Funny Face, Damn Yankees, Charade and Arabesque. Gromnir Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 RIP film director Stanley Donen. Directed, amid others, Singin' in the Rain, Funny Face, Damn Yankees, Charade and Arabesque. somehow missed his passing last week. didn't see it mentioned at the dozen or so news sites we frequent. weren't 'til yesterday eve when folks were complaining 'bout the academy in memoriam snubs we realized he had passed. in any event, am knowing he gets most credit for singin' in the rain, but we were always a big fan o' damn yankees and charade. @star trek fans: a young boothby played the the prince o' darkness in damn yankees and were fantastic; one o' our favorite on-screen devil portrayals. HA! Good Fun! Malcador Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 I will smack my bitch up to honour him 1 Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Hurlshort Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Man, both of those last two were pretty dang young.
LadyCrimson Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Man, both of those last two were pretty dang young. Such is why I try to enjoy the present more and more vs. thinking about some far flung future. You just never know. “Things are as they are. Mannock Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 I think it was first reported last week that Jan Michael Vincent had passed. A lot will reference Airwolf but my first thought is The winds of war. I'll do it, for a turnip. DnD item quality description mod (for PoE2) by peardox
