Tale
Jean-Claude Van Johnson An Amazon Prime original series about Jean-Claude Van Damme moonlighting as a secret agent, while still being a washed up action star. Epaminondas
Jean-Claude Van Johnson An Amazon Prime original series about Jean-Claude Van Damme moonlighting as a secret agent, while still being a washed up action star. It's only 6 30 minute episodes, but it's hilarious. Ah, that changes things. I thought it was serious, in which case I had no interest. A comedy? Might give it a shot. χαίρετε

majestic
Jean Claude Van Johnson is ludicrous and fantastic. I can't wait to see HUCK in theaters. I'd totally watch HUCK. Twice maybe. Once with N-word Jim and once with C-word Jim. In other words, just "binged" Jean-Claude Van Johnson. Not much to binge, it's about as long as a movie anyway. Felt a little silly giving standing ovations after the final credits rolled being all alone in front of my computer but hey, credit given where it is due. 1 No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.
LadyCrimson
I've been slowly watching the K-Drama Secret Forest (or Stranger if on Netflix/Wikipedia, or Forest of Secrets elsewhere, these name changes get annoying). Probably one of my fave non-romantic serial-murder/legal crime kdramas so far. The lead actor is fantastic (as a prosecutor who had surgery to quell childhood seizures and thus has little to no empathy/emotion) and the lead actress matches up to and counterpoints him very nicely as well. Quite compelling. “Things are as they are. Raithe
Took a break from things and caught the first couple of episodes of Taken on Amazon Prime. It's inpsired by the Liam Neeson films, but basically re-jiggers the timeline around. It's the "How Bryan Mills went from Special Forces to 'CIA'" storyline, and his early days of working with a black ops spook show. Just, set in the modern day rather then the past. Seem's to be a competent show, no more silly than most of the other Espionage / Black Ops type shows on tv these days, with a few good actors turning in nice performances. Jennifer Beals as the ruthless boss, Monique Gabriela Curnen as the tough female agent (once again) and similarly, Michael Irby doing a special forces operator (he does seem to be making a career out of those roles). Fiach
The Outsiders http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4816626/ Bunch of hillbilly's making moonshine on a mountain, Vs evil coal mining company that wants to evict them and strip mine the mountain, what could possibly go wrong? Really enjoying this. The hillbilly's are very interesting, the speak English, but sometimes lapse into a Welsh like Gaelic, they have a kind of feudal structure and use words like "Mayth thou", "prithee" etc. They sort out disputes in a pit riding on ATV's in a joust-like fashion. There is also a touch of the mystical 8n the background. https://youtu.be/u7K0ecPen2c https://youtu.be/2z657enyHp0 Edited January 10, 2018 by Fiach Thanks for shopping Pawn-O-Matic! Yet somehow we have vents large enough to crawl into with accessible registers everywhere. Was this building designed by TV writers or what?" - Wendy Watson 3 I cannot - yet I must. WDeranged
Finally got around to watching Star Wars Despecialized. Raithe
Father Brown. The current BBC adaption of the short stories from G K Chesterton about a crime-solving Roman Catholic parish priest. Set during the 50's, the titular character survived the trenches of WW1, and found a vocation in the Church. Although he quite often gets distracted by puzzles, riddles and getting pulled into various crimes that he solves in the name of both justice, and saving souls, just not always the letter of the law. While the standard murder-of-the-week episodes become a bit typical detective fair, the best ones involve the recurring character of Hercule Flambeau, a jewel and art thief who specialises in religious artifacts. The two characters have that fun "frenemy" aspect of enjoying the battle of wits, respecting each others capabilities, while they dance around the issues of Flambeau's lack of conscience vs redemption, and Father Brown's earnest attempts to encourage Flambeau's "good" aspects. It's quirky to see that sort of nemesis relationship done, with the two characters while apparently so different, a worldly high-life living charming art thief to compassionate, English village parish priest, who actually recognise in each other an almost sense of brotherhood at times. Very few people understand the way their mind's work apart from each other, so whenever they do battle wits its both a fun challenge but also a moment to relax and just be who they are. That's an interesting thing to happen in any story. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

ShadySands
Tried watching some Castlevania or something anime on Netflix but couldn't make it past the first 15 or so minutes. One guy is like I'm going to punish you people for doing this bad thing and another guy was like no I won't let you punish these people for doing that bad thing.
