Realized how much I'm out of touch with politics when I heard that CETA had'nt been dragged into the backyard and given a shot in the back of the head. It also reminded me how much I hate EU and how I really, really am scared of the moneyhungry politicians around the world, not to mention megacorps. They're not the ones that are going to have to pay for this.

Also; Atleast Wallonia has given me a glimmer of hope.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Spring is here and decided to start one of those Bootcamp Training groups that runs for a couple of months to get back into shape for Summer. 40 other people including myself turned up at 5.30am and thought there's a variety of people here. I should do okay since I've been doing some exercise over the last couple of weeks in preparation for this. I felt pretty good.

Holy crap this was hard. Looks can be deceiving because everyone else was pretty fit, including the women. Coming 41st wasn't encouraging but at least I can't go any lower.

Also, there were only 4 or 5 new people including myself. All the rest were returning regulars so I can understand why they're so fit. I've done similar bootcamps in the past but this was by far the hardest.

I haven't slept in about 40 hours. It's not pleasant, but ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do. It's at least not as bad as the time I was awake for 90 hours straight.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Insomnia?

That, combined with obligations that prevented me from sleeping when I was actually finally capable of doing so.

Bought one myself, to try it out, and I preferred the old style of cigarettes that I used before I quit. The smoke is'nt as tasty, it's really lacking. :/

In my experience you'll never find something that tastes identical to a cigarette.  Still, some get close, and if you can step outside the paradigm of tobacco flavours you'll eventually find a taste you love.

I've been in the mood to start up my own blog lately.  I'm thinking about focusing on all my brewery trips, beer reviews, and general hop knowledge.  The name is the first sticking point, I'm thinking of something like:

Hop History

Beertopia

Hop Commons

Strange Brew

I don't know, just spitballing. I think I like the history one the most, and it's not something that is out there already.

I was the harbinger of sickness in the office, watching and hearing it spread now. Not really, I am careful to cover my mouth and wash my hands thoroughly, it is just the cold snap nailing people.

Strange Brew should be out - besides the movie its also the name of a home brew supply company.

Beertopia is the name of a couple of local festivals and a store

Hop Common is a beer made by Peekskill Brewery

I'd go with Hop History as well.  Maybe even brand it with a latin subtitle, Humulus Lupulus Historiarum or something to seem extra historic. ;)

Changed my clutch today, went better than expected, small amount of annoyances and hassles. The clutch slave cylinder had oxidized and was stuck though, so I had to remove the entire piping system from the main clutch cylinder to the slave, and then fetch a piece of wood and sledgehammer to get it loose. All polished up now though, so that should'nt be a worry for a while.

Then I had to test to declutch.

Nope!

No go. After airing the system we discovered that the old rubber hose that volvo thought was a good idea to use for the pressurized system was swelling and shifting something awful when I tried to use the clutch. So I have to get a steel reinforced hose, or make the entire system out of steel pipes, Also have to empty out all the brakefluid and change it out for fresh fluid, it was some of the nastiest fluid I've ever seen.

Not frustrated at all.

I finally got my copy of the Conan board game today (I'm one of the very first as I was in the first wave of shipping).  I crowdfunded this waaay long ago when I still did crowdfunding.  It got delayed many many many times as Monolith worked with their manufacturers to get the cards, boards, and figurines just right.  The wait was worth it, though, as the product is top notch.

KNoowo4.jpg

The box on the right is the King Pledge box, a deluxe version of the box that will be available at retail.  It has 2 double sided game boards, a bit over a handful of character cards, rulebooks, playing cards, dice, tokens, and a whole bunch of really great figurines.  The box on the right is the stretch goals box.  Everything in the stretch goals box is limited run and only available to backers and possibly at conventions until Monolith run out of their personal supply from the initial run, never to be manufactured again.  It contains another double sided game board, a scenario, over a dozen more character cards, more playing cards, more dice, a map of the world, a dice bag, and a buttload more figurines (the amount of figurines combined from both boxes is in excess of 200).  At some point, I may paint the figurines, though it's been a long time since I did that and I was never particularly good at it (not terrible either).  I'd take pictures of some figurines but my phone is terrible at taking pictures at very close range, plus I'm a terrible photographer.

I'll wind up joining one of the many board game clubs here in Charlotte.  The board game scene is arguably in the best shape it's ever been.  :dancing:

Looked for spare parts that I need today, travelled all over western Sweden between different junkyards and similar that was unconnected and did'nt have an inventory. No luck.

So I went to a specialist store and bought a steelspun hose(Edit; Braided hose!) and connections and ordered a new slave cylinder. Going to mount it tomorrow and hopefully get that ****ing clutch to work properly.

My father drove me around in his car, and I can honestly say that I'm pretty damn envious of his engine. 0-60 in about 4 seconds. In a car looking like this;volvo-745-401599_59412526.jpg

Just not as nice.

I really want a better paid job so that I can catch up to him :)

i feel like i either have a secret benefactor or some long forgotten bank account with A LOT of money in it.

a few days ago i was checking what the next installment of my tax to pay is and i saw a series of "PAYED" on the list. i was baffled at the sight since i never payed them and no money is missing from any of my 3 bank accounts. today i got a mail saying that they levied the money for my taxes automatically from a deposit made in my bank account 5 days ago, so i took another look at my 3 accounts... no money was deposited in or taken from them in the last 28 days

i should go around every bank and ask if i happen to have an account im not aware of

The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.
