  1. 1. Which HUD UI do you prefer?

    • Extra long combat log, buttons on top (although they look like tabs in my mockup): http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img673/4474/7Bkz79.jpg
      2
    • Buttons on the right side instead of the center: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img661/5145/N2yilu.jpg
      3
    • Buttons on the right side, solid backgrounds to conserve horizontal space, green gems supposed to be used to toggle panels: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img913/3223/5mESW7.jpg

    • I decided to call this "IE games nostalgic": http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img538/1479/mflbM8.jpg

    • Sensuki offered another layout today, with the combat log on the left side. I made a mockup of the same idea, so it's easier to compare to the others visually: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img674/2636/vETHWV.jpg

Can't decide if I like camping supplies on the right side.

I think that rest icon should be right above the clock.

Overall it's great. Even if Obsidian doesn't want to consider BG-like HUD option, I see how it could be a popular mod.

Yeah I really hope someone that's well versed in modding(I'm not ) will do something like this.

Here's with the camp supplies above the clock.

Just a minor unimportant thing, but your UI lacks the attack and dialogue icons

Got bored and decided to try and replicate the Baldur's Gate UI using PoE elements. Copied various things from the posted screens, hopefully noone minds.

So what do you guys think?

Stop posting porn!

It needs revision symbols and their size.

But this is my favorite.

I think a super great game had it that way, but I'm not in the name of the game.

THIS!1!1!!

  • Icons at the center, not hidden away in some far left corner. This reduces long back and forths with the mouse.
  • Bigger icons, because we are not playing Counter Strike and we do not need to aim with the precision of a headshot. Also, we can enjoy these beautiful icons without any eye strain. They show their full potential now.

Yeah, I like it too. We must start a petition or something to get this implemented... inXile did at least 2 major UI overhauls through the WL2 beta. There is hope. :)

Sorry Saeri that UI sucks.  It isn't your fault though since you are literally just copying the BG UI which.... sucks.

You're clearly in minority with this opinion.

Only if you only count diehard IE fans and ignore the vast majority of backers who don't come to the beta discussion forum.

He is not a minority atm because from 30 votes only ten prefer the IE layout. ;) I hope for at least a 100 votes before we can judge anything from the results though.

But they're talking about Saeri's version which isn't an option in the poll ;)

(The 'IE' version you gave doesn't have the IE 'feel' and looks like a minimalist UI laid out oddly (rectangular block in top left should be a longer, thinner line - might look better then). - Saeri's version wins on style (IMO) )

Here's probably the final version with some minor adjustments:

Here's a Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition version with less wasted space. Personally not a fan.

What about Class Resources?

Cipher Focus, Chanter Chants, Monk Wounds and Ranger Animal Companion ? You've forgot about those - they make it very hard to make a good UI.

That mockup has given me an idea though :)

I would just have to increase the space between portraits, right?

edit: higher resolution

I count all the votes for the "IE nostalgic" version to be votes for Seari's version as well (sorry, I can't edit the initial post and the poll any more). Since it's a "nostalgic" version, I suppose whoever voted for it would also support the version that's even closer to the BGII UI.

As much as I like the IE border UI I really dislike losing screen space.  Add the option for a transparency slider on the UI and it becomes acceptable.

You don't really lose much space with the second version, I'm kind of starting to prefer it.

edit: Using the sides of the screen for the UI is practical, since everyone has widescreen monitors.

I agree with Karkarov.

While Seari's suggestion certainly feels 'familiar' it takes way too much space for me.

Not everyone's going to be playing on >20"  screens.

I DO like the log in the centre though. It's essential for me.
