Think he meant Ryan Gosling.

I'm pretty sure episode 1 already covered Val's worst fears, so I'm not too worried about this one.

I expect episode 7 to make me miss Jar Jar like Bush and Obama made me miss Clinton.

Never think it can't get worse, because it can.

First Ryan Reynolds and now Ryan Gosling?  You guys seem to have something against handsome guys who can act.  Sure, one is more of a comedic actor while the other is dramatic, but they are both amazing.  If Bladerunner sucks, it will have nothing to do with the performance of Gosling.

I actually like Gosling, but he's not amazing. Reynolds is dung. Are you gay? This is not the first time you've brought up the attractiveness of some guy, and defended it as if it's some quality others were downing when they weren't. 'You just don't like him cause he's hot'.... yea.. no.

A new Bladerunner will suck regardless.

That it's even being made is another testament to just how barren Hollywood is of writing/producing/directing talent these days.

I guess I've just seen Gosling in crappy movies. Hm, he was the weird guy in Remember the Titans, wasn't he ?

Not even sure what a BR sequel would be about, or what themes it could explore. But oh well.

Yes, I must be gay because I called Ryan Reynolds and Gosling handsome.

Maybe I'm just not the kind of person that needs to find negativity and fault in most things I come across.  I prefer to just enjoy stuff.   :shrugz:

Yeah, the Xwing was perfect as it was. Much like the weird white plastic winged TIE fighters, but is cool and new or something

Woah, woah, woah, never mind the new Spaceballs, when did a new Blade Runner get announced, why wasn't I informed, is it because of the Voight Kampff test results?

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Tea for the teapot!

No, you were informed. You've just pre-emptively repressed the memory. Because that's how bad it's going to be.

Yea... you're definitely the head in the sand, passive aggressive, pretending their poo don't stink, kind o guy. You don't run around from thread to thread trying to belittle others ideas or marginalize people. Not at all.

Or maybe we should tackle the ball and not the player and keep personal attacks to ourselves, hm? Back on topic.

A couple of fans put together footage from both teasers to make a longer trailer, it's pretty badly edited but here it is anyway:

EDIT: Wrong link, fixed.

Trailer for Rebels: Season 2. Spoilers for those who missed Season 1.

It's an outstanding series btw.

I really hope this will be good. J.J. Abrams Star Trek did nothing for me.

Star Trek did something for me but I felt it lacked the introspective spirit of classic trek.  I like to think some of the greybeards also working on Star Wars will restrain him, the trailer felt right at least, more than either of the new trek movies did to me.

I just have to wonder if they made a certain compromise. "Yes you can have the stupid looking lightsaber but it's all you get." :p

1 stupid looking lightsaber

3 shakeycam fight sequences where you can't tell what is happening

6 ridiculous amounts of inappropriate lens flare

2 pointless overlong cgi action sequences designed to sell games/ toys (not JJ's fault though, was Lucas's sole stipulation when selling)

1 time travel incident...

I did think the casting in nuStar Trek was pretty close to spot on, except for Simon Pegg. To me it felt like he wanted to make a Star Wars movie though, instead of a Star Trek one.

An annualised movie system for Star Wars- next, we find out who really stole the Death Star plans, yet again- does not fill me with confidence, nor does the rather staid and conservative content Disney has already released.

Female TIE pilot, all-around badass, character confirmed.

The lady TIE Bomber pilot in this vid (at 4:10) did make me feel kinda funny in my chair:

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

1 stupid looking lightsaber

Sometimes it really is just the little things that makes the difference. That stupid looking saber killed my interest in the new movie just as effectively as Ewoks killed off my interest in the SW franchies for a few decades.

the style reminds me of the 80s version of Area 88 (there was a remake in 2004 or 05 but it was toned down on the violent details like pilots getting shredded by 20mm shells)

The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.

What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past?
