He was the third Mr. Freeze in the 60s Batman (following George Sanders and Otto Preminger) but honestly his credits are too numerous. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? Why is it that I have to wait two weeks and and drive five cities out to be able to see How To Train Your Dragon 2 in the original language while the awful, censored, kiddiefied dutch dub is available in every theatre ever? It felt to me like Robocop if it were made today. Hit all the right notes without feeling like they were trying to remake a classic. JFSOCC Posted June 27, 2014 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I watched The Raid 2, and it was fantastic, the plot was ok, but at least not insultingly stupid like so many hollywood productions, the martial arts choreography was terrific, just beautiful barring maybe one or two minor flaws that are easily missed. It does have the Conservation of Ninjutsu trope but that is just easily forgiven because the combat is just such a visceral pleasure to look at. The Raid 2 has excellent pacing and inspired directing, I observed one shot I had never seen before, with the camera moving during a car chase from one car to another, inside through a window, and out through another. Just excellent. The Cinematography seemed to steal some inspiration from Park Chan-wook's style choices, but you can steal from worse directors. All in all, best movie I've seen so far this year. 1 Remember: Argue the point, not the person. Remain polite and constructive. Friendly forums have friendly debate. There's no shame in being wrong. Some well known names and faces doing little background roles. All set up within a flashback within a flashback. The old author reminiscing on how he was told the story 30 odd years before.. and then the flashback of the man telling his younger self the story. The story of a legendary Concierge at a grand hotel in an obscure Eastern European country, and his lobby boy protégée. Hiro Protagonist Posted July 4, 2014 Share Posted July 4, 2014 Watched The Raid and The Raid 2 back to back. Wow, totally awesome. Both were great and enjoyed the different styles of both movies. Really difficult to say which one is my favourite but I did like the tension and non-stop action of the first one. The second one slowed down in some parts with the story (which was still good) but made up for it with the actions scenes in the second half which totally blew my mind. I think I liked the first one a smidgen more for the non-stop style of filmmaking. Even though there's a dubbed version, I'm one for subtitles. They took it down. Here's a YouTube one instead. I watched How To Train Your Dragon 2 and it was pretty good. Not quite as good as the first because it was a little less polished and a couple of the action sequences failed to impress, but it came really close and made up for its flaws with a healthy dose of humor. Had quite a lot of character development for a DreamWorks animation and a few surprisingly touching moments. Pixar is still top dog but DreamWorks and Disney's 3D animation studio have really been closing the gap. To be fair, DreamWorks makes as many duds as they make winners and it doesn't look like their upcoming lineup has anything interesting. I also caught Grand Budapest Hotel and it was fun, it had that unique flair and wit that Wes Anderson tends to have. Almost every shot had wonderful color contrast and composition. Little style over substance but I don't think there's anything wrong with that. May have been good in 1993 when it came out but it isn't now. Prisoners. Great movie with how far would you go for your kids. Just enough doubt whether the guy that Hugh Jackman goes after is innocent or guilty - until near the end when you find out what's really going on. Really enjoyed it. Bullet to the Head. Stallone goes back to 80s style of filmmaking. It was okay but I've moved on from the 80s. Noah. Was all a bit of a mess to me. That's all I'll say. (not in this clip) Also he throws a claw knife in the final showdown.
