nothing with 3d realistic graphics age well

in meantime here is E3 gameplay footage:

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

It got a date... Febuary 13th 2018

I don't think it will be worth that $59.99 so I'm going to wait. $60 is alot of money for a game.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Are horses and horseback combat in this game? I am not saying my purchase depends on it but any medieval-type RPG claiming to be 'realistic' better have it.

Edit: Ok they clearly have horses. So that's good.

Guess it took more than 2 years. Yet another common tale. :p

...the scenery does look nice, can I just be a wandering ghost and fly around looking at all the pretty?

...still think the 1st person melee perspective is ugly and awkward as all out, and I don't just mean in this game. For me, 1st person is for guns and snipers. Seeing 1/3 to 1/2 of your weapon and occasionally an elbow flailing around with a slightly fishbowl look to gazing at your opponent always bothers me. When I hold something in my hand, I can see my entire arm and the entire thing I'm holding. Also, my legs, my feet, my torso, etc without having to even bend my neck. Not seeing that - plus no peripheral vision representation (widening field-of-view into ever more fishbowl is not peripheral vision) - makes no visual sense to my brain in most games and I can never really get into it.

...combat doesn't look "fun" to me. Technically interesting and more realistic I'm sure, just not "fun" the way I define fun. Not putting it down, just not my thing I guess.

...the visuals and animations look pretty good (npc soldiers, armor, talking to folks, details on walls, paintings, etc)

...seriously, is there a sandbox-observer mode? I'd probably just like that. Running around, taking screenshots, waiting for rainy days (are there rainy days?). Although not for $60. Maybe $30.

Looks great. Just worried it might get boring without the fantasy element

Getting that Braveheart kinda cinematic vibe from the new trailer.

I've only really heard the occasional update about this project, but I like the sound of a lot of the things I've heard. Mainly the multiple solutions to issues and the hardcore approach to quest locations (no markers, just specific instructions). However, I'm not really big on the lack of a character creation and the voice protagonist in these sorts of games.

I'm going to wait on the reviews, but the lack of fantasy elements is off putting for me also.

It's a wise thing to do. It's either going to be a GREAT game or a very horrible one. With the next big Steam sale around the corner, it's best to wait and see.

Optimization is another thing to worry about. Nobody knows how the game will run since all the videos and review copies (so far) are the early beta build... very strange to me. So if you talk about a video on their forums, they (as in the devs or backers) will say "Oh the final version is way different".

Additionally, the GoG version of the game has been announced and from developers mouth, it will be released 2 weeks later and won't get as much attention as the Steam version (it will always come second with updates, etc). Yes, Warhorse Studios loves Steam and is very active on the Steam forums.

So there's a bit of red flags for me personally..

BUT

Those developer diary videos do make the game look amazing, looking forward to how the game does. It's going to be interesting for sure...

I have to say Im  very impressed with this game, I always thought you Czechs only brewed beer and produced cheap porn...but I feel I have to add software development to that list of noble achievements  :dancing:

I thought I had backed this.  Was hoping this would be one non dud I wasted money on Kickstarter on :p

So... it's on my radar now. Do we think it will be good, or just a pretty turd? Heard it is using Cry Engine 3, which gives me pretty bad vibes. Never liked Cry Engine, like, at all.

I think it will be decent, not for everyone because of combat and I think it will still have some junky animations, I believe that story telling and quests will be good. Well we have to wait.

I backed this game forever ago and have waited patiently and guardedly.  Unlike some others, the fact that this game takes place in the real world without any fantasy elements is very appealing to me, if for no other reason than it's something we very rarely encounter when it comes to RPGs.  Hopefully, this turns out like some other European AA RPGs; janky and lacking a bit in production value, but with depth and character that so many shiny AAA hollow shells lack.

Apparently the game will get a 23gb patch on day-one. I'm curious why they still do physical discs if you have to download a crapton of gb anyway.

It's a czech game. It having no bugs would have surprised me a lot. :>

Primary question is: Does it have crash bugs and destroyed savegames like the beta did?

From the feedback I've seen, think of the worst Bethesda release you can remember, and that's about it. Some crashes, missing geometry, infinite loading screens, bugs in the very systems that are critical for gameplay, and some developer oversights (like dropping stolen goods onto the ground right in front of a guard just before he checks you for holding stolen items).
