Deraldin Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 After banging (literally, bang-bang) readiness up to 100% I got 5 secs more of an ending, I only checked one of them, because I just can't stomach anymore non-skippable cutscenes.. I thought the only one of the choices that could lead to more would be to destroy all synthetics, but that's pretty far from a happy ending, because that means that Legions sacrifice was for nothing and it's going to break Jokers heart. Only took six hours to get there.. But at least MP is fun - sort of. You picked the right one. That is the only one that gets the extra 5 seconds.
Jaesun Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Whatever happened to Kaiden btw? I just sent him off to assist with the Crucible, never heard of him ever again. Not that this is a bad thing... He's a romance character, for either Male or Female Shepard. Still pissed you can't romance James. He's the only decently written character that doesn't have DEEP DRAMA TRAMA, or Daddy issues etc. Pity. Oh well. Guess I'll try the same sex Romance a try with Steve. I wonder how cringe inducing this will be.... Some of my Youtube Classic Roland MT-32 Video Game Music videos | My Music | My Photography

Drowsy Emperor Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Well, that's a change from the usual. Basically he's admitting they screwed up, but does anyone actually believe they'll fix the endings? He never actually says anything of the sort. И погибе Српски кнез Лазаре,И његова сва изгибе војска, Седамдесет и седам иљада;Све је свето и честито билоИ миломе Богу приступачно.
Malcador Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Some of the criticism that has been delivered in the heat of passion by our most ardent fans, even if founded on valid principles, such as seeking more clarity to questions or looking for more closure, for example Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Tale Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Well, that's a change from the usual. Basically he's admitting they screwed up, but does anyone actually believe they'll fix the endings? He never actually says anything of the sort. He does say that they're working on DLC that'll address "clarity" and "closure." Those are issues with the ending, but whether they're the biggest problems with the ending or not is debatable. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Morgoth Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Whatever happened to Kaiden btw? I just sent him off to assist with the Crucible, never heard of him ever again. Not that this is a bad thing... Still pissed you can't romance James. He's the only decently written character that doesn't have DEEP DRAMA TRAMA, or Daddy issues etc. Pity. Exactly. That's why I kept him around the whole time in my party. That "But you were with Cerberus" whining from Kaiden already got on my nerve on Mars. As soon as he was relieved from the hospital, I sent him off for good. Rain makes everything better.
Malcador Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Vega had some guilt crap about his unit getting mauled up and doubting being ready for the N7 as a result of that ? Morgoth Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Vega had some guilt crap about his unit getting mauled up and doubting being ready for the N7 as a result of that ? Dunno, never asked him about that, and he never told me. Rain makes everything better.
Calax Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Vega had some guilt crap about his unit getting mauled up and doubting being ready for the N7 as a result of that ? When he learns he's being bumped for N7 and you chat with him, he'll doubt himself while talking to you and it turns out he's being bumped into N7 because he managed to pull off a PHENOMENALLY difficult mission (losing his entire team in the process). So he's sitting here arguing with shepard about "Am I ready" and you can either dissuade or encourage him into N7 (no real payoff either way...) Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Malcador Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Yep, that's what I recalled. So not totally drama free, but tolerably so, I suppose. Why has elegance found so little following? They're gonna release it as a $DLC, probably just offering another color. The outrage will be glorious. Rain makes everything better.

Gonna be interesting to see what they do, if the artistic integrity stuff is there to signal that it'll be some $ 5 end slides or to keep this from happening with every game with a plot from now on. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
Volourn Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 "her "But you were with Cerberus!!!! I hate you!!!" shtick is pretty funny. " She gets passed it ina the first few hours of the game. Drowsy Emperor Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I support enhancements to the original game like CD Projekt did with the Witcher - it was a great improvement overall, but changing established endings is bs. Whose ending is it going to be? If they "fix" it is it Bioware's game, or a fan project? They made a sucky ending, so what - its neither the first nor the last game to do so. Video games have short and unsatisfactory endings in general. Fans are wrong in demanding a fix for a finished game but Bioware is also wrong for justifying bad decisions with "artistic freedom". There's nothing worth doing at this point except deciding if this is the reason you wouldn't buy a BW game in the future, or if you're willing to overlook it. Either decision is fine, crying over spilled milk is pointless. И погибе Српски кнез Лазаре,И његова сва изгибе војска, Седамдесет и седам иљада;Све је свето и честито билоИ миломе Богу приступачно.
Tale Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 If they "fix" it is it Bioware's game, or a fan project? It would be Mass Effect 3. The particulars about who it belongs to are pointless. Whose movie is Blade Runner? Which cut are you viewing when you answer that question? Which of the three versions of Hamlet belong to Shakespeare? Who do the other two belong to? Are modern performances invalid? Is George Lucas's Star Wars more valuable than the one I saw in theatres? Which version of Empire Strikes Back may I enjoy, Kershner's or Lucas's? What about Disney's Cinderella? Does that ruin Grimm's somehow? Why do these questions matter? "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Volourn Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) "Whose ending is it going to be? If they "fix" it is it Bioware's game, or a fan project?" Aren't you always crying abouy how BIO never listens to the fans? I say the problem with BIO is they listen tot he fans too much. "Bioware is also wrong for justifying bad decisions with "artistic freedom". " Nonsense. Just ebcause you agree with their decision doesn't mean it was bad. Artistic freedom is about the freedom of doing things ther way you want artistically. If artists can only do things certain people like they aren't being artistic. "There's nothing worth doing at this point except deciding if this is the reason you wouldn't buy a BW game in the future, or if you're willing to overlook it. If it'd been their intention since, say, the beginning of ME3 development, never mind the whole trilogy, this would never have happened. Instead, it's something Walters and Hudson decided a couple of months ago when they were dead-ended. This also shows in the execution. Volourn Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 3 endings = destroy, control, and merge The colours just represent the three different endings. Why do people feel the ened to lie? It's embarassing. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Instead, it's something Walters and Hudson decided a couple of months ago when they were dead-ended. This also shows in the execution. That's probably right, but they still packaged it and put their "reputation" behind that (bad) call. If the original creators had no idea where to take the story, and couldn't even be bothered to give it a meaningful ending who's going to do it? The fans? What's the point of that? Its the same precipice Throne of Bhaal was teetering on, but managed to pull off a mostly satisfactory and sensible conclusion. With the ME series they let the need for bombastic plot twists and cool-sounding but not well related concepts run them into a creative corner, leaving them with the only option of (literally) pressing the explode button. Its very much a case of style over substance - exactly what happens in most blockbusters. It probably could have been done better - with a clear idea at the outset *shrugs*. Raithe Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 No matter what happens, you have to admit, the majority of the game was quite good. The way some of it wove together, and how things could totally change depending on those earlier choices. Tuchanka and the Krogan being one of the serious examples. If Wrex had died before, and Wreav was in charge, you know the Krogan's can't be trusted in the future, and without Maelon's data to ensure Eve's survival, she can't balance things out.. so there's a damn good reason to take the sabotage options. But if Wrex is alive, and Eve is there to help support the resurgence of Krogan's beyond warfare and bloodshed... Then it actually makes sense to tell the Dalatress to take a hike and make sure the genophage cure actually works. Much the same way that Tali / Legion relationship can pan out in different ways.. Sure, some of it might be taking the "easy emotional buttons", but they're usually well-crafted emotional buttons regardless. It's just a shame you have that sudden reversal for that final 10 minutes. 1 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
