Majek Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I only activated my copy on gog. I still need a better machine to play this properly, so it'll have to wait. 1.13 killed off Ja2.
HoonDing Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 If the enhanced edition doesn't fix Geralt banging Triss even if you had picked Shani in TW1, I won't even bother spending half my bandwidth on it. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Nepenthe Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-the-witcher-2-tech-analysis That's fairly impressive. Guess I'll go pick it up today, even if I can't play it until next week, earliest. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions

Guess I'll go pick it up today, even if I can't play it until next week, earliest. I was actually hoping they'd port back the new, more natural lighting conditions to the PC version, but early reports indicate that they didn't do so. Oh well, if there's a demand they probably will later, and it's not like the game on PC looks bad.
Lexx Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) Just noticed, that the dragon scene in the beginning was not shortened. It's just that the second part can't be chosen anymore at the beginning of the dialog. But other than that the combat got really easy (never got seriously damaged in chapter 0 even though I got hit a few times and I still remember how I had to redo the dragon + wood house + fire scene like 20 times until I got past it. This time I was just running through and done.). Also there are some new cutscenes in the game, where Dandelion is telling the story. I like that. /Edit: Looking at that link above, it seems to me the PC version has way too much bloom... BobSmith101 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 Finally managed to track down a copy. Had to go to 5 different stores. Only just got back and I've got stuff to do so I don't think I'll be playing much before the weekend.

That's what the DF analysis says, but, as a layman, it seems to me that the differences are more in how they set up the lightsources, bloom settings and HDR rather than PC having prebaked lighting or whatever.
Pidesco Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 And that isn't available in the PC version? Weird. I'm guessing a lighting patch is on the way. GhostofAnakin Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I'm torn on whether to pick this up for the 360. On one hand, I need a new game to play. On the other, I'm lazy to leave my house today. I thought the EG review says just that it will be rolled into the pc version? Obviously, I'm not in a position to compare. ... Or even boot the game before next week. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Lexx Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Never heard anyone calling them "masters of C&C". "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

Zoraptor Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Never heard anyone calling them "masters of C&C". Their intra game C&C is one of if not the best of any game. I might even describe it as masterful. The inter game C&C on the other hand makes Bioware's handling of it look masterful.
WorstUsernameEver Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 To be fair, they never made a big deal of the fact that you could import your saves. But yeah, it's definitely disappointing.
Gorth Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I didn't even know you could import old games. Maybe in some distant grimdark future I might reinstall the game. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. BobSmith101 Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 Anyone have any idea how long the game is ?
Calax Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Just out of question.... was dismemberment in the base game? I don't remember that happening in the first run I did a year ago, but saw a guy's hand get slashed off in one of the tutorials. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Lexx Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Yea, cutting of arms, etc. was in the game if I remember correct. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Tigranes Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I don't really care that much about inter-game C&C - it's a ridiculously difficult thing to do and really, how much does it add, compared to good intra-game C&C? You can do intra-game C&C so much better, and in the end there is not that much lost. It's only a bad thing when you make your series dependent on inter-game C&C. Apparently ME did that, I wouldn't know - but I don't think TW really did.
