Walsingham
Technically speaking, we made enough to pay bills, live comfortably, and save our money, but something always comes up. Last year my mother got breast cancer, two surgeries + chemo + radiation - time she had to take off work = broke until December. Then she was fired, which meant I had to pay for her medication when she had no insurance plus the other expenses. Then I needed dental work, then her car broke down, then my ex-step-father called and asked for a loan because he couldn "It wasn't lies. LadyCrimson
So far today, I've stayed up all night, as I've unfortunately been doing a lot of ... stress ... but it has had the side benefit of my discovering all kinds of enlightening and useful info via the internet, such as the fact Squirmels have become available for purchase again in the past few years. I've also learned that Snuggies shed to nothingness before too many washes and have a tendency to fall open in the back, ala hospital gowns. This is brilliant stuff I'm learning, and it's all possible because of the internet! Later hubby and I going to visit my mother to help her some semi-techy stuff and I hope I can get some sleep. “Things are as they are. Gfted1
I'm renting my condo out, and trying to figure out how to do all the applications, credit checks, contracts, and insurance. Yay. Ive had rental property before (and I was an out-of-state landlord) so what I did was hire Century 21. They handled everything from advertising (keeping the house occupied), credit checks, repairs, lawyers, the whole nine yards. The cost for their services? 10% of whatever the monthly rent was. It was fantastic. I rented that property for four years that way before one of the tenents made me an offer I couldnt refuse. I highly recommend you look into a professional service. Just imagine the headache you will personally have to deal with if a deadbeat gets up in there. Maria Caliban
I agreed to pick my boss up at 4:30 am to take him to the airport. I went to sleep at 8 pm, figuring that I'd make up for my complete lack of sleep yesterday. No such luck - I woke up at midnight bright eyed and bushy tailed. Hope it lasts cause I've already agreed to go out tonight for resturant and jazz concert. Which reminds me, I have to pick a resturant. "When is this out. Gorgon
Legislation is really weird on this point. I mean, it does make sense to make sure that there are as few evictions as possible, it's traumatizing, especially if there are kids involved. A couple of years ago I worked clearing abandoned apartments and we happened upon the eviction notice itself. This lady had not paid rent for more than 8 months and the place looked like something out of a horror movie. Why on earth was she not kicked out sooner. If I miss my rent by a single month I'm out on my ass. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Walsingham
I know. Why is it that the law somehow seems to always wind up protecting bastards, and never supporting people who are having a hard time. For example, in teh UK you can 'squat' in a property and nothing will harm you. But thousands have been evicted during the credit crunch. "It wasn't lies. theslug
Started a small garden today. 3 tomatoes and 1 yellow bell pepper plant. I don't know a thing about gardening but you have to start somewhere I suppose? If all goes well I might add some carrots and lettuce and perhaps even onions and maybe even green onion since it's one of my favorite ingredients to use. Just don't really know if those things can handle the climate out here. Either way, the plants I started today should mature right around the end of summer so it will be a nice window of decent weather. We're also considering a pomegranate tree. Should be neat. I'm also downloading porn. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
taks
Then she was fired, which meant I had to pay for her medication when she had no insurance plus the other expenses. why didn't you have her pick up COBRA? i realize it is expensive (it is the entire premium), but it means keeping the insurance for up to 18 months as i recall. it is retroactive too, but i don't remember how soon it needs to be declared (there is a time limit). taks Edited June 7, 2009 by taks comrade taks... just because. Killian Kalthorne
I bought a new CPU, E6300. It's a 2.8 ghz Pentium Dual Core for $82 at Newegg. Not the best out there but it is better than my single core and it is my first step to get back to my roots as a PC gamer. Guard Dog
It's 1:40 AM here. I just finished a project I've been working on here. It's a Miss Pac Man machine! Yes indeed an honest to god Miss Pac Man stand up arcade game, circa 1985. I bought it from a bankruptcy sale up in Covington for $150. It was a little beat up and had a bad power supply. I repaired the power supply (it had a bad transformer, and needed re wiring), replaced the CRT with one from another old machine I found. I sanded and repainted it and found a place online that sells the decals and put new Plexiglas on the control panel. It looks nearly brand new and I only have about $400 in it. It took a week but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed working on it. In the ingural game on the finished maching I score 26590 and got to the fifth maze. Woo Hoo.
