Ravenskya Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Been playing FFXII on the PS2 since I cant get the hubby off the computer. I was considering getting the new Dragon Quest game... but I haven't played any of them since the first one on Nintendo (I'll never forget that stupid marsh that you had to walk through) I'm also considering that Kingdom Hearts 2 game... but I don't know anything about it... I'm slightly turned off by the inclusion of Disney Characters, but if the story is good I think I can get passed the idea of chillin with Donald Duck. Mostly Harmless
kumquatq3 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 You should have had your character scout ahead searching for mines. Stupid AI I tell ya. There's no damned pause button either. I might have to reload that game. However, save on those bonus levels, their freaking cheap. I think St. Louis is the one where you basically have to take a hill.....that's surrounded by trenches......filled with super mutants......with one narrow pass up the hill....manned by supermutant snipers that use machine guns as such. Sick.
Kelverin Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Madden 07 PC - Just finished a great game online that went down to the last play. I lost, but it is much more fun than playing against the computer, as long as you can find an opponent who doesn't resort to cheese to win the game. J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning

Sick. I could never get up that hill. The game cheats. Its like instant kill the moment you walk on that path up the hill. Stupid random encounters, there's too many. Those damned mutants blew up my scouter. I liked that car, it was awesome! It sounded like a little hot rod. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
kumquatq3 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 O, I did it, I had to reload 1000 times, but I did it. The mutants on the hill have brownings, which in that game, is the equivalent of a bozar on crack

Sick. I could never get up that hill. The game cheats. Its like instant kill the moment you walk on that path up the hill. In fact it's not that the game cheats. It's a bug with how the game manages the spread from burst fire. You see, if an enemy shoots one of your characters with an automatic weapon from the other side of the map, they'll miss (naturally). However, anyone near the intended target of the burst will always get hit by the burst spread. The bug works for the player just the same, too. If I'm not mistaken you should have come by a sniper rifle by that point, or there's one you can get in that mission. That, stealth, and grenades (loads of 'em) are the way to go in St. Louis. Certain Deathclaws (the one that "specialises in disembowelment" and Mother, I think) can make short work of lone muties too, if you can sneak up to them. The second part is to take all the heavy weaponry you get in that mission back to base... - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.

The mutants on the hill have brownings, which in that game, is the equivalent of a bozar on crack I don't have the patience to endure a 1000 reloads. I did reload at least 10 times though. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

The mutants on the hill have brownings, which in that game, is the equivalent of a bozar on crack Huh? That one was easy. Dru... I mean "character powerups" FTW. Then stealth shotgun blasts do the rest. ^_^
Dark_Raven Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 The wilderness encounters are annoying in FoT. Seems like ever block on the map has some mutant, beastlord or whatever encounter. That gets annoying when I have a convoy of vehicles trying to maneuver around to try and get out of there. I lost my scouter in one of those encounters. This is one of those times I'll reload. I may lose teammates permanently, but I'm not losing my cool wheels. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Darque Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Yeah, I agree, the randoms in that game really sucked. At least in FO2 you could find some cool items or weapons... but in tactics... all you find are speedbumps and bulletcatchers.
Gorth Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Remind me to born as a vehicle in my next life :fear: Finished NWN2 for the fourth time. I'll put it away for a while. Not really sure what to play next Maybe Pirates! Has anybody tried Sid Meiers Railroads! ? “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
kumquatq3 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I may lose teammates permanently, but I'm not losing my cool wheels. I setup a "tough guy", or whatever it's called, game. You can only save at the base or whatever. It might ce easier tho, you get a **** ton of points. It's the 3rd mission and I have 4 guys with 100+ in small guns and close to 100 in stealth
alanschu Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I missed out on playing Fallout Tactics. A friend and I were really psyched up to play it because we heard there was multiplayer, but it unfortunately wasn't coop.
Musopticon? Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Assaulting Deimos Peninsule in Dark Crusade. Still as Eldar. Necrons are insanely fun to play, btw. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Pop Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I'm playing the Godfather game on the 360. Despite its obvious debt to GTA, and the fact that it's an EA game, it's surprisingly good. The "fill in the blanks" approach it takes to the plot of the movie is generally creative and smart. Fun gameplay, too. One of the best sandbox games I've ever played. One gripe, though: There is some token parallel story that has nothing to do with the movie, that of your character gaining a love interest, and it doesn't hold up nearly as well as the movie plot, which I guess is to be expected. She dies. What's frustrating is that it would be a good, dramatic story arc if the characters had any personality at all, but they don't. Your character is basically the guy from GTA3, a fixer with no affect, but this time it's not a joke. After your lady love dies, you carry on as if nothing had happened, and instead of showing any grief or even angst he just goes around taking jobs and talking just like he did before. In fact, all the characters that aren't in the movie suck. Oh well. I'm having fun taking over 1940's New York anyway. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Musopticon? Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Word Bearers, Kronus Liberators and Blood Ravens, all are driven to the earth by Ulthwe. Assaulting Deimos peninsula was superb fun and the hardest fight so far. I love how varied the objectives in the fortress assault levels can be. Especially the Deimos peninsule fight were you had to first get rid of the blood pulse pillars by taking hold of the Khorne point there. If that wasn't difficult enough, the enemy outnumbered you three to one and Chaos Lord Eliphas ascended to demonhood halfway through the level and started pestering you all over the level, flying and assaulting your forces from the air. Then there were bonus objectives and such, Throughly an enjoyable experience. The debriefing was also great: I could just imagine the kilometer high runes of light the Eldar used to cleanse the peninsula. Granted, the Victory Bay fight against the Imperial Guard was a bit better, what with the Titan Hellstorm cannon blocking your way(and killing all of my Warp Spiders on the first meeting) and with the basilisks bombarding your poor troops advancing through the mishmash of mines, turrets, tanks and rows upon rows of soldiers. Yes, and four Baneblades. :D Too bad that the Eldar are rather useless against Necrons, especially ones with a full honour guard. I don't plan on attacking them in their stronghold(army strength 14 there plus the honour guard is there) anywhen soon. They really are the biggest threat in Kronus. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Musopticon? Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Yeah, Mafia is pretty grand. Perfect narrative, missions and story. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Llyranor Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Well, I just went on a GBA binge and ordered Fire Emblem (geez, this was tough to track down) and FE Sacred Stones, as well as Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 1 and 2. Screw you SRPG drought. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Shadowstrider Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I've been playing World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade lately. I wasn't a big fan of WoW, but playing with friends has made it more amusing. Other than that, multiplaying Gears of War and a few games of Geometry Wars on 360.
Calax Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 For Godfather, the game is almost exactly like gta... only shorter. on my Ps2 game I'm about this close to being the don of ny, but both the places i have to take over are closed because Their owners got killed and they won't reopen for a long long time. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Morgoth Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Currently I'm playing Freelancer. Very atmosphereic game with tons of potential. Alas, there won't be a FL2 since Digital Anvil was shut down. I wouldn't have mind a more RPG style approach for the characters, like convincing people through dialog options and build your own clan that supports you through your story missions. Nonetheless, it's the best Space FPS I've played since X-Wing Alliance. Rain makes everything better.

Llyranor Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 http://www.gamequestdirect.com/045496733421.html It's a rip-off, but considering that it's virtually impossible to find new, I figured it was worth a shot. Urg @ international shipping fees. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
