I would not expect PS3 back compatibility. PS5 is basically an updated PS4 with similar AMD hardware, PS3 was of course Cell and completely different apart from being similarly multi core.

They could pull it off if they didn't have to force PS Now down peoples throats.

Assassin's Creed Unity is free to claim on Uplay for a week. That's the one set in Paris, so it features Notre Dame.

Thanks for the heads up! I got it.

And that meant bad things and eventually a good thing.

It made me realize that all of my Ubisoft games were Steam-linked ones, so when I opened Uplay, I had no Store. My Uplay was some barebone Steam Untermensch version of Uplay.

But now, thanks to your tip, all of the sudden I do own a Ubisoft-bought game, and, according to this twisted logic, it means privileges I wasn't privy to previously.

Still, my new game didn't appear in my Uplay. Why, I wondered.

Well, after some tips on Reddit, I realized that if I didn't use any Uplay shortcut linked to my Steam usage, and just dove into the Ubisoft folder directly and made a shortcut of the Uplay.exe file there, I'd get a clean version of Uplay to appear, and lo and behold, there it was, with store, warts and all, including new pop up window features and other functionalities I haven't had access to earlier, like hidden games and such. Incredible. Now I see the extent of Ubisoft's hatred for Valve, 'cause on the surface of it all, you'd think Uplay is just Uplay, but it's not, it's a digital game distribution caste system.

Seems Humble Monthly isn't selling as hot cakes anymore, since they revealed another "early reveal" - Wandersong. Not bad game, lovely, positive, but more niche. I'm happy because of Wandersong, it was on my wishlist... but I don't know how often would I play it.

Capcom reveals all the games on the Castlevania Anniversary Collection: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-04-18-heres-everything-included-in-konamis-castlevania-anniversary-collection

This began as a fan made remake of Resi 2 before Capcom found out about it and put the kibosh on those plans.

Wasn't there a similar thing going on with Tomb Raider a couple of years ago? There was this spiritual successor of sorts that never saw the daylight and was sort of a mod/fan project. Couldn't find it. :/

That Morbus dude once posted a video of it.

SkillUp is so obnoxious. Terrible reviewer, even worse writer. Can't watch anything with him talking.

Eh, art direction looks neat, albeit pixely. They really need to put a lot of work into feel of the combat tho, what was shown in the trailer looks like it has absolutely no impact or weight behind attacks, both by player and the enemies. I mean, if you look at Souls and Sanctuary, you can actually juggle enemies as a part of its combat system, and getting hit often means getting knocked about a bit.

Figures that happens after I buy and play the original version for all of half-an-hour. Didn't have time to form an opinion on it, but it's been several months since - indeed it's been several months since I powered on the PS4P at all. Given that I've used the console for maybe a collective dozen hours over the course of ten months, not one of my smarter purchases so far.

Sekiro had a patch intended to promote different playstyles and fiddled with the combat art and prosthetic resource costs. That's because people didn't use anything but Ichimonji and High Monk (or Senpou Leaping Kick), the latter of which was situationally locked to countering sweep attacks and was pretty much a high risk, high reward combat art as it locked you into a tracking animation towards the enemy and if you messed up the timing or used it on a non-sweep attack you could easily jump yourself into a deadly enemy combo.

I'm pretty sure nerfing the posture damage on High Monk will promote people to not use Ichimonji all the time.

Oh, wait. Heh.

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

These days I'm less concerned about playing the complete version of a game. On PC at least though it's usually easy to just grab some DLC or Expansions. Separate releases is rather annoying when the content doesn't justify a purchase on day zero2. Course I now tend to buy games way after the fact which helps in playing the best versions, though it's only easy to do that if there are enough old games that you want to play as much or more than new titles. But it's hard to trust new titles will even be good, so other than a few gems I believe in almost no game really appeals to me until I can asses my confidence in it post-launch.

Turns out James Ohlen is now working for WotC in a new studio that is focusing on "creation of original IP outside the Magic the Gathering and D&D brands" (no BG3 here, folks). Pretty much no other information there but this could potentially be interesting.
