trump bad, we got it, he will take US to war, we got it, no matter that he talked you out of one and taking troops from other, you will probably save chunk of cash of this shut down as well :)

Which one did he talk the US out of ? And who knows if they're actually leaving Syria, Bolton is speaking differently from Trump. And hey, government employees are people, too :p

North Korea

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Conflict which didn't exist until Trump's threats and insults is good example how he talked people out from war?

The government is working as intended.

and thank goodness it is working as intended.  can't imagine the mess we would be in if chief executive or legislature could functional act unilateral.

Bolton is trying to manage the withdrawal from Syria more than anything. The withdrawal itself is a given and always has been so long as the Kurds are a red line for Erdogan and he's willing to cross the US to get at them.

But if the US doesn't back the Kurds publicly they will quickly rejoin the Syrian government- negotiations have already made good progress- and that will ruin the other 'solutions' he's looking at before he has a chance to work out that they're impractical and stupid yet tries them anyway.

Bolton solutions = things like a mythical arab peacekeeping force consisting of Saudis (lol) and Egyptians. Saudis are the hottest of hot garbage and Egyptians are only slightly less pro Assad than Russia, neither would be acceptable to Erdie for numerous reasons.

Anotha day, another democratic nazi...

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

You know the biggest problem with political discussions? Words lose their meaning over time. Radical, Nazi. Communist, Liberal, Conservative, Libertarian, Socialism, etc. All these words have real definitions with almost 200 tears of post industrial revolution history to firmly establish those definition. And yet they get tossed around like a Frisbee in a dog park so often they end up losing their meaning when applied to things they clearly don't fit.

I swear it's a bit like John Malkovich entering his own mind: "Nazi nazi nazi nazi nazi, nazi nazi nazi. Nazi nazi nazi!"

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>
Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

radical not synonymous with nazi.

...

a moment ago we pictured her in a brown shirt and jack boots.  now admitted, she pulled the outfit off in our imagination, but even so, the label don't work.

she is a bit naive and tends to indulge in facile solutions. reminds us o' hundreds o' freshman and sophomores we knew at cal, folks exposed to new ideas for first time who sudden thought they had discovered the hidden truths and meanings o' the world. a little bit o' knowledge is a frightening thing to behold.

try "stalinist."  sure, is a stretch and am not thinking she would advance the notion o' the inevitability o' violent class struggle and the need to be ever vigilant 'gainst counter-revolutionary forces... yadayadda, etc. stalinist not accurate but is closer and is also having benefit o' nostalgia.  wod used label to describe any liberal intellectual with whom he disagreed, which were all o' 'em 'course.  when pointed out how label didn't work for folks such as ruth bader ginsburg or mister rogers, he then increased his use o' the label three-fold, as if to make a point.

you don't need to be that guy.

I love Cortez, that is from the video she deleted. How did you get it?

I think people tend to forget that urban dictionary is different from literal/webster dictionary. It's not that the meanings are list, it's that well, I'll copy and paste so you don't have to take MY word for anything.

From:

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=nazi

(Nazi) ~ more recently, it has become a slang term used to described people who are overly concerned about details (in an unhealthy way), and like to correct others on every occasion they get. Especially evident on internet forums, blogs, and youtube

^That's definitely Cortez but we love her anyway :p She's a young democratic queen, wouldn't expect any different, also in turn she gets corrected constantly by fellow lefty nazis. I rarely call people nazis but the Democratic radicals who hardcore twitter definitely fit the bill. Edited by SonicMage117

If you can see the whites of a persons eyes above or below their pupils, theyre cray cray.

Exactly.

People are a bit overdramatic but perhaps that is why I'm always on the defensive (with good reason). So many people get offended easily on the internet, time for people to change their diapers and leave the real fight to the non-wide eyes.

Look at me, ma! I have 8 arms hehe :p

Did she really say she'd rather be morally right than factually correct?

I have to tell you.... in my line of work that attitude will get people killed.

Yes, she actually said that but in her case what she views as "morally correct" is still considered to be morally incorrect by mass society (at least right now) so that's the irony of politics. Factually incorrect and morally incorrect, since moralism seems to be a subjective concept in the world anyway.

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways, a double-minded woman helps ease the pain of Mista J ;)

If she wasn't such a treat to feast our eyes upon, I imagine she'd be in the same ring as our President, Pelosi and Bernie in unlikabiloty but she's young so youth "trumps" all in politics arena - even Palin's looks proved this to be true. Looks simply go a long way, politics are just a secondary yay.

The future of politic campaigning will not rely on political education and preservation but rather great looks and presentation. We will see robots in the future who will be made to manipulate and brainwashing us into who we want to vote for or what side we want to take - then we will discuss our views on the forums - OH WAIT!
