I'd prefer there be no xp at all for removing traps, but if there is going to be this seems like a good idea.

Good question. To an extent I think it's just expected that sufficiently large developers will have a forum. It's also difficult to get rid of it now that it exists for the same sort of reasons as moderating it more strictly. That's the thing though: do they want to? By the way, I'm not disagreeing with you. I'd prefer a more strictly moderated experience too.

I've been plenty critical of the way Deadfire is going/has gone. I try (though probably fail) not to make it personal, so if it's hero worshipping not to "the devs are idiots for doing X" then I guess I'm a hero worshipper, but I'm not shy about criticising the changes to mechanics in Deadfire (armour/penetration, removal of per rest, resting mechanics, overly long recovery times and others). I've even stated, at least once, that in its current state I probably won't replay Deadfire anywhere near as much as I did PoE because it just doesn't appeal to me in the same way. No one has jumped on me for doing so. Sonic gets a negative response not because this forum is full of rabid Obsidian fan boys, but because of the way he posts. This thread title is, as Boeroer says, the epitome of clickbait. In another thread he essentially said that Katrina Garsten's leaving was a sign that things were going badly for Deadfire's development: pure speculation stated as fact. People then point out that he's reading far too much into things and he responds with his standard persecuted newcomer speech. After a few threads like this, people lost patience with him. That would be great but I doubt it'll happen. This being the official Obsidian forums they have to be very careful with their moderating. If they ban a bunch of trolls say, they run the risk of the narrative being twisted into "games company censors criticism". I just don't think it's worth the risk for them.

It was +2 for each expansion, so 14 for WM1 and 16 for WM2. -
You've highlighted why I think the new armour system is worse than the old one Dunehunter. Having more penetration did sheets be a good thing, but under the current system it is often not. As for weapon proficiencies, I really don't like the system. I dislike being forced to not and more (thus cluttering my hotbars) and I think, with a few exceptions, most are just bad.

It's a Friend's reference. Your description sounds surprisingly like Ross's does. If you buy it on Steam you can make use of the Steam refund to see whether it'll run and, if not, refund it. A lot of devs justify the lack of demos this way so it seems fair enough to use it this way too.

That would be terrifying. "I want more cake" "You've already had two slices" *Casts Kalakoth's freezing rake* -
Character Creation: Still Kinda Not Great

Not got anything to add, but in case Obsidian are watching this thread I'll add that I agree. -

Why would remembering your previous incarnation require that you start at a level higher than 1? Yes you have the same soul, but you need to learn to use it (in exactly the same way the original Watcher did whilst leveling up throughout PoE). -

Simple, go with my original idea: new character who is the reincarnation on the Watcher.
