  1. I thought the 3rd patch for consoles was still forthcoming? Its only live in STEAM at the moment. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65338-patch-notes/
  2. Patch 03 is out - http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65338-patch-notes/ According to the notes it fixes the skipped content when grounding due to being lost in the forest triggering the next day when the first day isn't finished - I'm curious if it solves this issue as well.
  3. Patch 03 is out on STEAM and supposed to fix the problem (Console updates soon, apparently) - http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65338-patch-notes/
  4. Have you tried the 03 patch yet? I'm wondering if the difficulty change helped anything (its out on STEAM, soon for the consoles according to the update -http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65338-patch-notes/
  5. Good news - http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65338-patch-notes/ According to the notes the 03 Patch is up at STEAM and will be available for consoles soon.
  6. As I understand it, you can camp in the countryside and rest in inns or taverns. When you choose to do so you have to choose what you're characters are going to do - for example regain strength by resting a full day, training or guarding the camp.
  7. I'd never get out of character creation, I think...
  8. Obviously more stats can be more representative, but it can also add a lot of unnecessary complexity. That said, in the purpose of full disclosure, most of the P&P games I played, we looked at the stats as guidelines and didn't do a lot of roll play.
  9. I wouldn't argue that, really. But... What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet;
  10. Except for the fact that the realms of such deities are usually not places where any sane person would want to spend their eternal afterlife But for the devout, it *is* a place they want to spend their afterlife. I think that's always been one of the hardest things to deal with in fantasy RPGs is the proper addressing of evil faiths. I remember struggling the trying to run a priestess of an evil deity (Talona) and keep hold of such a different ethos from my own. And yet of all the Clerics I've played, the fact that I struggled with the character has made her more memorable than many others (such that I've recreated the character a couple of times). To me, at least in D&D terms, while there were several illustrations used for it (IIRC common sense is mentioned and I think that's where we trip up with clerics of evil dieties a lot) the one that made the most sense to me was "awareness". And in this case I mean awareness of self and the awareness of situation and surroundings. A high wisdom means a high awareness; when tied with faith it means a canny knowledge of their belief system. An irrational zealot would have a high wis but low int score - which seems to go counter to the "common sense" definition - but the way I see it the awareness of belief outweighs the understanding of things outside of belief heavily. A learned monk could have a higher Int score than his Wis score and a mage who is convinced that that he can be a diety if he can discover enough magical power might have a wis to rival her int. A fighter, supremely aware of what they can and cannot achieve with their own power would also have a high wis; one who believes his sword arm to be infallible would be low wis. Or, you know, something like that.
  11. Is it like those male enhancement ads proliferating on commercial TV?
  12. Or you could look at what I did which was to use your post to express my own feelings without regard to yours; hence why I said YMMV (and obviously it does). Unless you meant the audit bit, which was a bit of a joke as I elaborate in my own position (without intending to devalue yours) that I don't really need - as a backer - an explanation for this stretch goal. YMMV, of course.
  13. Egads, I didn't realize I'd walked into an internal audit. *backs away slowly* Seriously, I pledged money because I wanted to see Obsidian make an isometric real-time with pause fantasy RPG. I don't expect them to pull out the ledgers and show exactly where every dollar went. If I didn't trust them to make the game and be good stewards of my pledge...I wouldn't have pledged. YMMV of course.
  14. Maybe its just me, but if your diety of choice is offering you everlasting life in their realm if you burn your world down, I think it'd be wise from your perspective to do it. That others might find it incredibly unwise lies conflict, but your own faith and understanding of that faith is going to drive you to do bad things. Mind you my experience with D&D, very few of the evil dieties want utter destruction of everything; they want enough destruction to drive the survivors to them.
  15. And that's fair enough; I don't think at this point there is anyone who doesn't want to see a patch. But the complaint I was responding to was the "Why didn't anyone tell me Ubisoft was the official customer support place to go?" not "Why isn't the patch out". I don't know why its not out, but since I've been trying to help on this forum, I am at a loss as to answer the former question and am inable to answer the latter (which only Obs and Ubi can do).
  16. http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0071-look-out-modeling-scams - if it'll help.
  17. What platform are you using? Have you saved, restarted and seen if the indicators comes back?
  18. Hmmm, I don't remember singing O Canada. My only memory of being asked to climb the tree was to call in the Goth kids. When you leave the girls and you have the French files you're supposed to be told that you need to go to Canada and Cartman gives you a passport with no photo on it; you then have to go to the photo shop to get the picture. Kyle, IIRC, will tell you when Cartman gives you the passport to get to Canada you have to go to the forbidden woods and go north, then north, then north and north again. Do you have the passport in your possession? Have you tried getting the Photo? Are you using one of the censored versions (ie which country?)
  19. Have you used Steam to verify the game files?
  20. Did you alien abduction trigger after the first day (ie not from being lost in the woods)? If you switch companions from Butters to Kenny does it help? What platform are you using?
  21. What Platform? Have you tried switching your companion out to a different one before crossing the river to see if that helps (might not but some problems are fixed that way). If on a PC have you verified your files through STEAM? Or reinstalled the game on PS3/X360?
  22. I never got it either, it apparently is triggered by not following the quest closely; exploring before all the Canada quests are complete - in particular talking to certain characters before it is time to do so - bugs the game. The developers have indicated they know where the problem is, a fix is in the patch (whenever it gets here) and that the fix will apply to existing game saves (so if a person saves a save state that's glitched, they'll be able to go back to it).
  23. Yes, there seems to be a problem with the second day triggering while still on the first due to getting lost in the forest. I have yet to read a workaround for it.
  24. Oh well, sorry it didn't help.
