  1. I'm not sure if its a bias so much a product of a practical approach to live events with respect to broadcasting them. If the draft started at 8 PM PST the east coast would largely be going to bed as it started...or already be asleep if using Alaska or Hawaii for a "Prime Time" start.
  2. This thread has gone a bit long. New Thread here:https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/96828-portraits-ii/
  3. The old thread can be found here - https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/91743-portraits/page-38 I believe the most recent topics involved needing more male barbarians user portraits and whether or not the official portraits of female characters were 'pretty' enough. Don't you think they don't know it? They just don't care. More sisnister reasons are hidden behind the players' not-likeness of already established and flesh-out characters' portraits, unfortunately Don't you think they don't know it? They just don't care. More sisnister reasons are hidden behind the players' not-likeness of already established and flesh-out characters' portraits, unfortunately Essentially, I want all of the female companions to pander to my very limited and misogynist view of what a beautiful woman looks like Personal choice is irrelevant: anyone that doesn't accept the creator's view of what a character's portrait should be, is basically a sexist, racist bigot *Cough, cough* What you want to say is:
  4. There is a new arcade game, using the movie's monster designs. Gameplay looks similar to the usual rampage game, but with the monsters jumping to the next block over when they've destroyed a block.
  5. RIP. Tim O'Connor was one of those actors who if you watch 60s - 80s US tv shows was an ever present face as a guest star, as well as his regular roles on Buck Rogers and TV's Peyton Place. Shows like Columbo, Streets of San Francisco, Alfred Hitch**** Hour, Twilight Zone, Police Woman, Wonder Woman, T. J. Hooker, Murder She Wrote, The Defenders, Father Dowling, The Fugitive, Mannix, Barnaby Jones, Hawaii Five-O, Gunsmoke, Ellery Queen, Six Million Dollar Man, Cannon, Banacek, M*A*S*H*, Rockford Files and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was in a few of movies (including Sssssss, Black Jack and one of the Naked Gun sequels) and a few TV Movies (including Winter Kill, a murder mystery with Andy Griffith set at a ski resort) as well.
  6. Current Avatar: Jacqueline Pearce

  7. Thread pruned. If you believe this thread is for topics not involving rogues in PoEII and their "suckage" or lack thereof, please re-read Pidesco's post and re-consider your misapprehension before continuing.
  8. But why would you want a fatbastard in your eyeballs?
  9. Good. Good. I was hoping it would be that bad The trailer seemed bad. And not just bad in a "not anything like Reboot" way but "bad because its bad" way.
  10. I so want to make a House MD joke, but this being the political thread no doubt people would take it seriously.
  11. I wouldn't count it, as I see D&D as more the P&P game than computer/console games. Not only was it a bad film, it wasted performances from Richard O'Brien AND Tom Baker.
  12. Egads, its easy to miss how many video games have been made into movies until you start trying to add them up in your head. Super Mario Bros. (an entertaining disaster of a film) Double Dragon (only saw the last 20 minutes of it. In Spanish. Seemed weird.) Street Fighter (Campy nonsense) Mortal Kombat (A decent adaption of the source material for the most part) Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (how not to make a film; wastes the goodwill of the earlier film and the source material) Wing Commander (sort of a paint by the numbers space battle movie - to be honest I can't remember much about it anymore) Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (Lara Croft and the boring people around her in a 90 minute adventure about some stuff) Resident Evil (Over the top film with only a passing resemblance to the source material) House of the Dead (kind of so bad its good. Loved the bit where it literally takes 20 minutes of screen time for a group of characters to walk at best 10 feet) Resident Evil: Apocalypse (over the top, no real connection) Alone in the Dark (ugh) BloodRayne (you'd think I'd have known better - actually I was sort of dragged to see this) Silent Hill (differs from the game, but I thought it captured aspects of the game pretty well and was a compelling story on its own) DOA: Dead or Alive (only has a passing resemblance to the source game, but is an ok-if-unremarkable Enter the Dragon clone of a movie) Resident Evil: Extinction (doing its own thing) Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (Nash out; kinda so bad its good) Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (I'm not sure its a good adaption of the game, but it was a pretty fun movie. Like the banter between the leads) Resident Evil: Afterlife (yup still going) Resident Evil: Retribution (And more...although I admit I could probably watch Milla shoot zombies all day) Silent Hill: Revelation (Adapts the third game to a certain degree; still deviates from the games but makes a solid follow-up to the earlier film) Warcraft (they really needed either more time to tell the stories of the large cast in ways that made sense, or narrow the focus of the film) Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (and I think there's now enough hours I COULD watch Milla shoot zombies all day!) Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (kinda ok space fantasy with an obvious twist, but not really a final fantasy feel to it) Angry Birds Movie (Ok, I laughed) Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie (do not see why people love this film. Terrible) I can still look forward to seeing: Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life Tomb Raider Rampage Doom Postal (hahah, I'm never watching this one) Hitman In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale Far Cry (probably won't see this either) Max Payne Tekken Need for Speed Hitman: Agent 47 Assassin's Creed A boatload of Pokemon films Ratchet and Clank Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker Dozens of other animated films based on games in Japan (like Persona 3) And we all have the joy of looking forward to (if they complete production): The untitled Mario Film Dragon's Lair: The Movie Dynasty Warriors Detective Pikachu Legend of the Ancient Sword Sonic the Hedgehog Sleeping Dogs Uncharted A bunch more animated films
  13. Resident Evil is a dumb set of film. But enjoyably dumb, IMO. Super Mario Bros is one of those films that are a terrible adaption, but kind of fun if taken as its own thing. Not really a great film whichever way you slice it - it feels like a film that's been pulled in myriad directions (which it was), but it is enjoyable if you get past the "not really a Mario adaption".
  14. Watched the season ender for Legends of Tomorrow. "Oh snap! They got lasers!"
  15. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/09/obituaries/chuck-mccann-zany-comic-in-early-childrens-tv-dies-at-83.html Chuck McCann RIP. He was a perennial face (and voice - he did voices on a lot of cartoons, including DuckTales, Powerpuff Girls, 1990s Fantastic Four) on television, first locally in New York and then nationwide. Also was in a lot of tv commercials as well (particularly Right Guard in the 70s). His main staring film, The Projectionist is considered to be a great showcase for his talents (and the first feature film appearance of Rodney Dangerfield as McCann's character's overbearing boss). He was also a lifelong fan of Laurel and Hardy. Besides being a big correspondent with Stan Laurel before Stan passed away, he helped found Sons of the Desert fan organization for the pair and portrayed Hardy in skits (and did routines based on both with puppets as well).
  16. "Field Vole"? I'm guessing they're linking them to...deadly outbreaks of...disease transmission...maybe? Or are their bear-sized field voles haunting the Finnish landscape which, coincidentally, you never hear about and then you're visiting Finland thinking its a great destination point for your vacation and *bam* your leg is gnawed off by an overly large rodent you'd never suspected?
  17. Han Solo can't have a ****tail in the ****pit of the millennium falcon while taking about ****trices, ****atoos, or ****roaches in a ****y manner.
  18. Moved to Pillars I General discussion forum (no spoilers in theory in that forum, which I thought would be the best choice as you haven't played the game yet). Edit: apparently I moved it to the wrong forum - hold on.... Edit part II: Thanks to gfted1 for fixing the move.
  19. D4s are for DMs to make a quick escape after a TPK. Toss a bunch of D4s on the ground so they act as caltrops on the other players while making an escape.
  20. Was he the person who wanted NWN to ship without an official campaign at all? I seem to recall that issue raised a serious rift between Black Isle/Interplay and Bioware at the time. When development on NWN started it was said that it would have a a deep single player game you could port your BG character to to continue their story and also have a DM kit that'd allow you to do all these wonderful co-op things. Then they didn't talk about the single player campaign for a long time. Eventually there was some talk of there being no official campaign at all, which upset a lot of people and when released the one we got seemed like it was created as an afterthought.
  21. In the material I edited out of the thread, some of which you can still see pieces of now.
  22. I really liked the idea of Far Cry 2. About 30 minutes in, while driving a jeep did me in though. Motion sickness...so much...motion...sick...ness...
  23. Friendly reminder - keep to the topic and not throwing out attempts to poke at perceived "trolls".
  24. I suppose I should amend my statement as I was thinking of a small talent pool of equally useful talents. If it were a small pool of one really, extremely useful talent and a bunch of useless ones then you really don't have a talent pool, but a talent and some detritus, which is not terribly different from having a large pool with only a handful of useful choices.
  25. I was hoping this thread was about a set of talents called "awful tree" for Druids and that we'd be discussing it. Possibilities fired in the imagination, alas. I haven't played the beta, but as long as you have some option in the picking of talents, I don't really see an issue in having less talents. The problem would be if you had so few talents that you had no choice (at which point, what's the point of having a choice, just design the class to pick-up the talent at a particular level-up).
