  1. True, but remember, it seems that Kreia has the ability to make herself invisible to those (at her own will) who are Force Sensitive. If you play the game as a female, you get to see several scenes where Kreia messes around with Disciple's head this way. Also, regardless of which gender you picked, she cloaked her presence from Atris in the beginning, and to a lesser extent (but not enough), Darth Sion.
  2. As long as you hit a character level of 18, and have enough influence, you can trigger the third round of sparring. Some people prefer doing Korriban or Dxun first, to get this level, since they can exploit the infinite Hssiss (sp?) in the Korriban tomb, or the continually respawning Sith Assassins on Dxun in the Mandalorian Camp (can talk to the guide for an instant "warp" back to your ship, even when combat is occurring). Edit: One other note: I tried immediately levelling up my character to L30 using KSE, and it didn't "qualify" for getting that third sparring match with Handmaiden, nor did it all me to get Kreia to upgrade the personal crystal. It seems that the game prefers "naturally" obtained levels.
  3. I noticed that on Nar Shaada, when you speak with the Serraco leader, you can actually get him to listen to you, while you badmouth the Exchange. Just curious about one thing. Has anyone been able to convince the Serraco to attack the Exchange? I've been able to get the leader to at least listen to the plans, but all attempts failed, in trying to get them to attack the Exchange.
  4. Actually, if you're male, you'll get both Carth and Bastila mockeries. If you're female, you'll only get the Carth mockery.
  5. Force jump, force push, hurl objects. I'd imagine that he also used force rage. Interesting question. We can only wonder how the General Grevious, previous to getting his torso (containing his vital organic organs) force gripped, and crushed, by Windu, would have done if he were more intact.
  6. Not necessarily true. You can get the conversation every time, if you have a high influence with Handmaiden, and ask her as soon as you leave Telos (but before you go to your first planet after that). This way, you can successfully get through the "Tell me about Atris" conversation.
  7. First of all, you need to be significantly light sided or dark sided. Secondly, you must be at least Level 15. Also, make sure that you've already spoken with Visas about her master. Once you have done all of the above, talk to Kreia before you deal with the last Jedi Master. She'll give you a choice, based on your alignment.
  8. Shyrack cave, on Korriban. Other than that, no.
  9. Easier way, without having to be worried about getting side-tracked, is to do Dantooine first. If you go to the Enclave sub-level and rescue Jorran, you can talk to him in the salvagers' camp, and buy a lightsaber part, as well as maybe a crystal or two, for 1000 credits. While you're in the sub-level, when you find the salvager's corpse that has the will, you can alter the will (very small amount of DS points), so that they willed their possessions to you. Take the will to Zherron (do this right after you've explored the sub-level of the Enclave), and you'll get the third part you need. You can then assemble your lightsaber with Bao-Dur's help. You'll also get another saber by going back to the Ebon Hawk for the encounter with Visas. Since you've already assembled your saber, you'll get a whole saber. After you've finished the planet, you'll get another whole lightsaber from Vrook (regardless of which path you took). This way, you'll have three sabers after you finish Dantooine as your first planet after Telos.
  10. To me, the selection of using Ed Asner as Vrook made the character even more detestable. In real life, Ed Asner is quite the communist, and was one of the people crying for the release of an imprisoned cop killer. Kudos to Bioware / Obsidian for picking the right voice for the Jedi Master that everyone loves to hate.
  11. I normally don't like playing as a DS'er, but when playing as a DS in KOTOR I, being able to say to Malak at the end: "And now the apprentice has learned the final lesson." made it worth it.
  12. Depending on whose interpretation you believe, it was stated that the Sith use synthetic red crystals as their color crystal, and that during the forging of this crystal, they focus their hate and dark side power into the crystal creation, resulting in a slightly more powerful crystal for them (and them only). Maybe give such users a slight (+1) damage bonus, but nothing else.
  13. It's a role playing game. You can be anyone you want to be.
  14. Of course you can get Revan in your party. Instead of using the randomly generated name, you can simply type in "Revan" as the name.
  15. Why do you suppose I suggested using explosives instead of head on charging? :D
  16. There is an easier way. Mira already comes with decent demolition skills, and by this time, you probably picked up a lot of mines. All you have to do is mine the area in front of the door, and then open it. The Ubese will chase you, and stupidly run into the mines, dying in the process. It helps to have an Adrenal Alacrity stim enabled, since this gives you more foot speed. Just get to the computer, open the doorway, and get out. Let your Jedi character mop up the remnants.
  17. If you install the package, and after its automatic removal, HK will gain a wisdom bonus, and you'll get some small bonuses as well, including either 500 or 1000 XP. It's worth installing it, since the lines he'll say will have you laughing. He did look rather odd, carrying around a Charric disintegration rifle, and saying "We must always think of the children!"
  18. No. The way it works, is that the moment you find your pet crystal, it will automatically be adjusted to match your current level and alignment. Any further adjustments (by talking with Kreia) will result in her adjusting the crystal to match your current level / alignment in a similar manner. There are no incremental steps along the way. Thus, if you were just starting out, and the crystal was opague (weakest), didn't talk with Kreia until you achieved a high enough level (say, you were L40), and then talked to her, she would ajust the crystal to match the power accordingly (in your case, as a L40, which should max out the crystal). There is no need to make any more adjustments to the crystal once you've done this, unless you significantly shifted your alignment and want those crystal's alignment characteristics instead.
  19. The cyan saber glitch, where it doesn't shut off unless you manually press the "flourish weapon" button, was also present in KOTOR (pre 1.02 patch, I think), once you installed the Mantle of the Force crystal (which also gave you a cyan blade).
  20. Core lightsaber forms (all Jedi classes eventually get these three forms): Shii Cho: You'll get this form first. No real weaknesses, and it gives you a bit better defense against enemies that aren't your target. Also, a modest attack bonus. May as well use it, since it's better than nothing. Makashi: Significant penalty when trying to deflect blaster fire, but you'll do more damage with your lightsaber. You'll also get an attack bonus against those using lightsabers, and also a bonus to your saving throws against Force powers. I can count the number of times I used Makashi with the fingers on one hand, since you really aren't going to be facing that many lightsaber wielding enemies, except for the bosses, and an occasional attacker. Yes, several at the Trayus academy, but by then you have other means to deal with them. Soresu: No real weaknesses, except for a critical hit penalty of -1. You get improved blaster fire deflection, and improved defense. Good for people using double bladed lightsabers, since such users aren't going to get critical hits that often anyways. Specialized forms: Those who are currently Sentinels, Guardians, Watchmen, Assassins, Weapons Masters, and Mauraders get the following: Ataru: Good against single opponents. You'll get a decent defense bonus, and a bonus to your critical strike range. Bad against multiple opponents, since you get a defense penalty, as well as a penalty when it comes to deflecting blaster bolts. I really don't use this form, since a +1 to the critical strike range isn't that significant if you already mastered the critical strike tree. Shien: Good against multiple opponents, moderate bonus to your to-hit roll, decent blaster bolt deflection bonus, and your critical hits can do a lot more damage. You get a significant defense penalty against your current target, though. Really nice if you combine it with either Critical Strike or Power Attack. Those who are currently Sentinels, Watchmen, or Assassins, will get Niman as the final form learned. This gives you a +1 bonus to all categories (to hit, damage, blaster bolt deflection, force power saving throw bonus, etc), no penalties. Nothing special, although again, it's better than nothing. Those who are currently Guardians, Weapons Masters, or Marauders, will get Juyo as the final form learned. This gives you an extra attack, a better chance of inflicting more damage on a critical hit, while giving you a penalty to force power saving throws, and a small defense penalty.
  21. Not surprising. Jennifer Hale, the voice actress behind Bastila, has been in many a computer game. She was also the voice of the female Jaden Korr (Jedi Academy), and has had numerous roles in various cartoons as well.
  22. Agreed. If you're going to use Master Critical Strike, Ataru really doesn't do much, except add +1 to your critical threat range. If you've mastered Critical Strike, and are using a keen short or keen regular lightsaber, then those bonuses will easily dwarf the +1 bonus from Ataru. Better to do as Dodecahedron stated, and use the Shien form, which triples your weapon damage if you score a critical hit. If you have a well-upgraded saber, don't be surprised if you see a single critical hit doing 150+ damage. Of course, using Shien and Critical Strike gives you a -10 defensive penalty, but hey, if you kill your opponent, you won't get hit. Someone using two keen sabers (upgraded with the better parts and crystals), master critical strike, and Shien, along with Master Speed, can easily and consistently deliver over 200 pts of damage in one round, and if you're lucky, a whole lot more than that. As a Sith Marauder, I took out Queen Talia in two rounds with this combination (and she can take a BIG beating).
  23. When you first find the crystal, it already matches your current level / alignment. If you were already at the maximum (where the crystal description says "blinding bright light" or something similar, then it's already maxed out.
  24. The above poster is correct, although in this case, the first poster is already too late. Once you have found all four Jedi masters (including the deceased Master Vash), Kreia will not talk to you anymore except for a simple "Let's get to Dantooine." If you meet the requirements before finding all of the masters, then you simply talk to Kreia, and she'll say that the time has come for you to stop concealing your presence, and you'll your choice of classes. If my guess is correct, you're best off doing this as soon as you hit L15, since you'll automatically gain enough XP for another character level when you make the switch
  25. One other note... If you get to L18, and want to make Handmaiden a Jedi, but don't want to leave for Onderon just yet, talk to the gate guard, and "warp" back to the Ebon Hawk. Then talk to her in the cargo hold.
