Untrue. Kavar himself tells the Exile, that when he sparred him, that he knew that there was something special about him. This was probably because Kavar was in charge of teaching everyone some forms of combat. Thus, he *did* train him in some form or another. Note, though, Kavar never did take the Exile as his official apprentice. He tells the Exile (if DS) that his duties on the Council didn't allow him to devote the time to doing so, even though he wanted it.

Easy Way Out Leads to Light Side Sith??
Unabomber replied to xanderrhian's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No real difference. All he tells you is how he used to travel with Revan, and that he gave him the location of Mandalore's helmet, and to gather the Mandalorians. He still won't tell you his exact identity, and that you won't find it out until after talking with Kreia in the end. -
Easy Way Out Leads to Light Side Sith??

If you do too many evil things (have all of the captains killed, instead of simply removed, etc), then your only choice is "After what I have done, I have no choice but to side with Vaklu" or something like that. -
Easy Way Out Leads to Light Side Sith??
Unabomber replied to xanderrhian's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Jediphile and Mahf hit it on the nose. Whether you take the dark or light side path on Onderon depends on your first trip there. When you (along with Mandalore and one other) start encountering the folks on the street, you have your chance to push things one way or the other. If you make all pro-Talia choices, then you'll eventually help the queen no matter what happens. This is the only way to keep Kavar alive after your second trip to Onderon. If you make all pro-Vaklu choices (removing all three captains, etc), then you will eventually help General Vaklu regardless of what happens. This will always result in you killing Kavar on your second trip to Onderon. If you waffle on things (eliminate maybe one or two of the captains, but not all of them), then you'll have a choice when Tobin encounters you in the cantina. -
As the others have stated, robe placement is pretty much random, although there are a few places where you can get some decent robes each time: First time on Dantooine: Jedi Master robes from Vrook's dead body if you went against him. Onderon palace: Ossus Keeper Robes (very nice), either by looting the museum or as a reward from Talia or Valku after everything is over. Also, possibly Jedi Master robes from Kavar's corpse if you aided Vaklu.

Every three levels of experience increases the intensity of the glow, and the overall power of the crystal. You don't need to do this every time, since Kreia will automatically adjust it for you at your current level. The more LS you are, the whiter the crystal gets, and the more LS-type bonuses you get. The more DS you are, the blacker the crystal gets, and the more DS-type bonuses you get. Yes, the crystal can become grey if you are neutral.

Not a bad build at all, but raising your attribs above 14 costs two points, instead of one. I would keep STR at 14, and pump those points into WIS, since you can get 14 WIS to start out with if you go with a STR of 14 instead of 16. Getting that WIS score is even more critical if you are male, since you have a chance to use that WIS bonus to give you a nice boost to your defense later on.

Think of the title of "Sith Lord" being gender-blind, much as the same way the folks in the Star Trek world would refer to their subordinates as "Mister," like James T. Kirk refers to Lt. Saavik as "Mister Saavik."

As much as most of us here disliked his whiny attitude, Carth Onasi was still respected by pretty much anyone (except HK47). Even his sworn enemies the likes of Saul Karath still had admiration for him. Combine this with the fact that he had Revan's endorsement (if male) or Revan's love (if female), and I doubt anyone would ever want to be disrespectful to him in person.

I did this once as a DS player. Eventually I had two Mandalorian Disintegrators, combined with Pinpoint IV scopes (Critical range 15-20), Mandalorian Chamber III, and Pure Rylith Cells. This combination was dealing out boatloads of damage, and when combined with Master Speed and Master Sniper Shot or Master Rapid Shot, would wreak havoc. I also tried this with two Freedon Naad blasters, but in the end, I still preferred the Mandalorian Disintegrators. Basically, I made everyone a blaster user, and where it was possible, would pick up the precise shot feats as well. HK-47 with a similarly upgraded Charric can take on just about anyone with ease. I never really had any problems with blaster bolts being reflected back at me.

Am I the only one who avoids using driods?
Unabomber replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The droids are actually pretty useful against enemy dark Jedi, especially T3M4. Think about it for a moment: T3's renewable shield can constantly be brought back up to stop enemy lightsaber attacks. He's also immune to most Force Powers, and can use several unblockable attacks, such as plasma cannons or molten cannons. The only Force powers that can really harm him would be the powers that I've never seen the dark Jedi use on a regular basis. Very few use Force Wave, if at all, Lightning can be stopped by his shield, and I've never seen them use the Stun / Disable / Destroy Droid powers. -
Why does everyone hate the Disciple?
Unabomber replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
He's not made very well. For someone who is supposed to become a Jedi Consular, his wisdom score is terrible, and he doesn't have much in the way of skills. If they made him a Guardian instead, then he wouldn't be nearly as crippled. His ability to serve as a lab station is pretty much useless, since they are plenty of lab stations everywhere, and that you really aren't going to be using them that much anyways. At least with Handmaiden, she can remain in her territory of smashing things, by becoming a Jedi Guardian, and that you can also get a very nice defense bonus when she teaches you Battle Precognition. With Disciple, you get no such bonuses. -
All of the combinations are good, provided that you play the role properly. The only ones who really complain about a certain combination being terrible, are those who don't use them well. I think there was once someone complaining that his Force Powers were useless, since everyone was resisting them. However, if you took a look at his build, he was using a Guardian / Weaponsmaster, with terrible WIS / CHR scores, and no WIS / CHR-increasing items equipped. At the same time, I've also seen people making Consular / Jedi Master combos that tried to blindly charge forth and kill everything with the lightsaber.

If Vrook's statements are to be believed if you set Revan to DS, then all we can assume is that Vandar possibly escaped the ship in time before it blew up. Otherwise, you're right; it's a mistake.

sith marauder strategy guide
Unabomber replied to Darth matty's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just load up on STR, CON, and DEX, whether it's through natural progression or by all sorts of item bonuses. You won't need many skills, since you can hack and slash your way through everything, and your henchm-, er, party members, can use their skills to make stuff for you. Use Force Rage liberally, and also load up on Master Force Speed. Saber choice (single or double) really won't matter much, since you're going to be unstoppable against anyone. There are some nice combinations, though, when it comes to using lightsaber forms and feats: Master Power Attack + Shien, using two keen upgraded sabers: With each critical hit, you have a chance of doing quad damage. Yes, doing 200 points of damage with a single hit is possible. Master Critical Strike + Shien, using keen upgraded saber: Excellent chance of delivering critical hits each round, and each critical hit has the chance of doing triple, instead of double, damage. Master Critical Strike + Ataru, using keen saber: Great chance of delivering a critical hit in the first place. Master Critical Strike + Juyo, using keen saber: Great chance of a critical strike becoming a double damage strike, extra attack as well. Master Flurry + Juyo: Extra two attacks, even before Force Speed is taken into effect. Those are just but a few examples. You don't need to use Force Powers for offense, since you can kill anything with your saber. -
If Revan is LS Male, then you do get another scene with Bastila, and not a hologram.

No question, either Death Star. Either of the Death Stars' superlasers would have reduced the Star Force to a bunch of exploding shards, and from a very long distance. While all of those wonderful dreadnaughts that the Star Forge produced would stop any capital ships from bombarding the Star Forge, none of them had the ability to soak up a superlaser shot. To put it in perspective, the entire planet of Alderaan had a very strong planetary shield, and the superlaser from the first Death Star easily overwhelmed it. Of course, one of the Star Forge's snub fighters could slip by and happen to stumble upon a 2 meter wide exhaust port...
-
If Reven = LS, then the Star Forge is obviously destroyed. If Revan = DS, then he simply abandoned it when he left for his journey. Others tried to use it, but they were destroyed.

Come on... The character of Count Dooku was still in remarkable shape, even though he was over 80. Yes, Christopher Lee has terrible arthritis, and old age has already caught up to him, but these movies do require a suspension of the belief of truth. Recklessness did him in. Had he simply ridden that platform off to another area of the embankment, and disembarked, who knows? Obi Wan matched up well with him, since his strongly defensive style was able to make Vader waste all of that energy. True, but there were some remarkable kills by Vader included Keto, as well as Cin Drallig, in addition to the Dark Woman. Those folks weren't exactly chopped liver. He did some of those kills after he was crippled. Back to the topic: Vader, prior to being de-limbed, would have defeated Malak, no question. The only question as to whether or not a crippled Vader could beat Malak would come down to whether or not he could block Malak's Force Lightning. If he could block the lightning, then Vader would win. His suit was exceptionally vulnerable to Force Lightning, but since only one individual could use it during his time, it was of no consequence until the end.

Bleh.. Droids having a cookout
Unabomber replied to mr insomniac's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Make sure you take along at least one Jedi who has a couple of useful powers. I always bring Kreia, since I usually have her learning the Stun / Disable / Destroy Droid series (exceptionally effective on Goto's Yacht), as well as the energy resistance series. Make sure you equip your best shields that also protect against heat. If one of your characters has a good Treat Injury score, and if you have chemicals, go to the lab station, and manufacture some more ion grenades. -
Darth Malak's armour
Unabomber replied to HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There is no fixed location at which you can find the armor. Plain and simple. You're reliant on the random loot generator, which hands out loot based on your level. If you're high enough of a level, you stand a chance of getting it, but the source could be something as simple as a sith trooper, or a hard-to-find box guarded by two dark jedi. If you play through the game normally, without using any exploits or cheats, you'll never find it, since there's no fair way to get to a high enough level to trigger its possible drop. Even if you finish every side quest, have Kreia in your party at almost all times, etc., you won't get much further past a character level of 30. Besides, there are many good armors and robes out there that work just fine, and Darth Malak's armor looks very silly anyways. -
SW game centered on Bastila?
Unabomber replied to Dark Moth's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, if you play Jedi Academy as a female Jaden Korr, then the voice is done by the same person who did Bastila's voice (Hale). -
Easiest Character to Turn Jedi?

Yup. You need to beat her three times, and she won't fight you that third time until your character level is at least 18. -
Easiest Character to Turn Jedi?
Unabomber replied to Ventghal's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If you want a Jedi in your party ASAP (other than yourself and Kreia), surprisingly, Bao-Dur and Disciple are the quickest to get. With Bao-Dur, it's the fastest of all. Just do the following: 1) On Telos, be nice to him. Say encouraging things to him. 2) In Atris' academy, be nice to him after you free him. 3) Go to Nar Shaada first. Help the first bullied man (one being confronted by the two Exchange thugs). Then go to the area where another man is being bullied by two more Exchange thugs. Say the honorable things, and defend the man by attacking the thugs. Bao-Dur will compliment you on that. Then talk to the man and be nice to him. Bao-Dur will give another compliment. By this time, you have enough to Jedi-fy him. As for Disciple, just keep talking with him, but it may take a bit of time to get to him, et.c
